EXTERIOR LIGHTING
My 2015 Acura RDX has shockingly dim headlights on low beam. The bulbs were replaced within the past year, but the light output is still dangerously bad. Very unsafe to drive at night or in inclement weather. My dealer has confirmed this is a known issue, yet there has been no recall. There has been a recall of the same model year for a different Acura model, the RLX sedan, for headlight issues. Why is the RDX not included?

The low-beam headlights are so dim that when I drive at night I cannot see the road in front of me. When there is a passenger in my car at night, they tell me to turn on my headlights when they are already on. When I take my vehicle in for scheduled maintenance (at the dealership) I keep asking about the lights, and they keep saying that the lights are working properly, they are clean, and they are aimed properly; "that's just how they are." I asked about replacing them and they say that it would cost me thousands of dollars to do it. For nighttime driving I've resorted to turning on my foglamps along with my headlights, and turning on my high-beams whenever there are no vehicles coming toward me. I am not able to see the road at night or in storms well enough to feel safe.

The contact owns a 2020 Acura RDX. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle and closing the driver's side door, the lift gate window suddenly shattered. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for inspection. The failure mileage was 75,000.

Sunroof exploded! My wife was driving her Acura RDX on [XXX] in Sunroof exploded! My wife was driving her Acura RDX on [XXX] in Tucson Heading East to Vail Arizona, when she heard a loud pop--I heard it to as I was on the phone with her. My wife noticed a gush of air and cars behind her swerving dangerously as the sunroof glass exploded out spraying glass all over cars following behind her. There was no inclement weather conditions. On 2-10-2024 I was driving the 2021 RDX SH-AWD on I-40W in TN with my daughter in the passenger's seat. It was raining. After about 2 hours of driving, at about 3:00 pm, I took a break at a Rest Area near Buffalo Valley. After ~20-min rest, I restarted the car and tried to merge back onto I-40W. I was accelerating towards the speed limit of 70 m/h, but suddenly, at about 65m/h, I felt the car losing power. I could not speed up anymore: the car did not respond to the gas pedal and the speed dropped to about 40m/h. The orange engine light started to flash on the dashboard. A truck nearly piled on me from behind. Cars and trucks from behind had to switch lanes quickly to avoid collision. I was able to pull over to the shoulder and stopped with my emergency light on. I turned off the engine for about 10 minutes, then I restarted the car again and got back on the road. This time, everything seemed normal, but I was so scared and worried the car might suddenly not respond again. Fortunately, I was able to get home eventually without any additional problems.

Low beam light is extremely dim. Dealership replaced the bulb but there is no improvement. I was explained that reflector is defective- burned out due to original Acura design using halogen bulb which caused reflector oxidation. It is a major safety issue as driving at night within required light is hazardous

If I had known the headlights are this bad to drive at night I would have never purchased the car. I have replaced the bulbs but was told it is the type of headlights that came with the vehicle. Never will buy another vehicle again with out testing it at night

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The rear glass shattered by itself wild parked. This is an ongoing issue. I know of a few people with the same vehicle as me, same year and all and they had to replace the rear glass a few times. Acura needs do a recall on the 2021 RDX. Thanks God it happened wild the vehicle was parked. If this would have happened on the highway it would have definitively cause some damages to other vehicles or even an accident.

On a long road trip ([XXX]) from Milwaukee, Wi to Bowling Green, Ky. and from From Bowling Green, KY to Orlando, FL. While driving from Bowling Green, KY about 8 hours into the drive, we were in a massive rain storm which started in Atlanta, GA. and did not end until we crossed into Florida. About 60 miles past the border of Florida traveling on [XXX], I needed to over-ride the cruise control traveling at about 80 mph and allow for a merging vehicle, so I pressed hard on the accelerator and the vehicle essentially shut off and the MIL was flashing. I was in the left lane (two lane highway at this point) traffic was moving quickly, but fortunately I was able to merge safely across traffic to the right shoulder without causing an accident because the vehicle was slowing at a rapid rate. The vehicle came to a stop on the shoulder with my wife and two kids freaking out. I shut off the vehicle, successfully restarted the vehicle and accelerated into traffic. This is my second complaint to NHTSA. I purchased my certified pre owned Acura on 01/06/2024 After I added my Acura to my Car Insurance. They notified me and told me that there is an open Recall Associated with my vin number. That recall is for a (seat weight sensor) RECALL # 24v-064000 RECALL DATE 02/01/24 -- REMEDY NOT AVAILABLE. I filed a complaint with NHTSA ID# 11572570. After I filed my first complaint I found another unrepaired recall for my vin number Recall date 02/12/2021 NHTSA # 21v93900 For the power train drive shaft I'm not sure exactly what happened with this specific recall. I also wanted to add to my complaint that since my vehicle is a certified pre owend. I never received a complete inspection report indicating all the components inspected prior to selling me the vehicle. Now that I'm searching through all my paperwork. I also am hesitant with the interest rate. I put $20000 down on the vehicle. And I have excellent credit and my interest rate is 8.99% I also had to pay for the warranty.

I just got this 2015Acura RDX And went to drive it at night the lights are absolutely horrendous. I actually almost got into a couple of accident, I also couldn't see the island in the middle of the road or the sidewalks. Trying to turn right Into a driveway I went over a curve because I couldn't even see where I was going, because of these lights. If I would have known this was a problem, I would have not purchased an Acura. This should be Addressed and definitely fixed by the company. Also, I was not Advised of this problem from the dealer That is uncalled for. So, now I am afraid to drive at night. What does this mean? I can't drive at night?

Approximately on 2/10/2024 shortly after i added my 2021 Acura to my auto policy my insurance co. GEICO notified me about the open recall. Nobody else has notified me on the open recall. I just purchased the vehicle on [XXX] from Autonation Acura In Torrance California. The recall notice Says "there is no remedy availableI" i purchased this beautiful CPO vehicle and I put $20,000 cash ( debit card) as a down payment and I had to pay additional costs for the extended 9 yr. warranty. I financed the rest. The vehicle price was $31.000 with 20.000 miles on it. The total costs $44.000. I haven't even made my first payment yet which is due february 20, 2024. My interest rate is high 8.99 is the rate and I have excellent credit. I've only put 20 miles or less on the car since I bought it. My auto Insurance Company now recommended that I do not drive it. My auto insurance could possibly go up in cost as well. I have not drove the car since I learned of the recall. I want my money back and I want to return the vehicle.
