• Rear Bucket Seats (Second and Third Row): Similar to bench seats, an unbuckled status is indicated by a "Red occupant or red exclamation point", transitioning to a "Grey/green occupant or green check mark" when the seat belt is fastened.

Understanding the Seat Belt Reminder System Functionality

The seat belt reminder system behaves differently depending on whether the vehicle is stationary or in motion.

Vehicle Stationary

When the ignition is turned ON and the vehicle is stationary, the Vehicle Information Display will initially show the status of unbuckled rear seats, regardless of whether they are actually buckled or not. This is a temporary display to ensure awareness.

• Empty Seat: If a rear seat is empty, a "Red occupant or red exclamation point" will display for approximately 65 seconds from ignition ON. No chime will sound.
• Occupied Seat (Unbuckled to Buckled): If an occupied rear seat changes from unbuckled to buckled, the display will change from a "Red occupant or red exclamation point" to a "Grey/green occupant or green check mark" for the corresponding seating position. This display also lasts for about 65 seconds, and no chime is activated.

The driver has the option to temporarily dismiss this visual indicator by navigating to a different menu within the Vehicle Information Display.

Vehicle Moving

The system's behavior changes once the vehicle begins to move:

• Moving Below 10 MPH: If the vehicle is moving at speeds below 10 MPH, the reminder will display for any unbuckled seat, but no chime will sound.
• Moving Above 10 MPH (Buckled to Unbuckled): If a seat belt changes from buckled to unbuckled while moving above 10 MPH, the reminder will display a "Red occupant or red exclamation point" for the corresponding seating position. An audible chime will activate and sound for 95 seconds.
• Moving Below 10 MPH (Unbuckled to Buckled): If a seat belt changes from unbuckled to buckled while moving below 10 MPH, the reminder display will change from a "Red occupant or red exclamation point" to a "Grey/green occupant or green check mark". No chime will sound.
• Moving Above 10 MPH (Unbuckled to Buckled): If a seat belt changes from unbuckled to buckled while moving above 10 MPH, the reminder display will change from a "Red occupant or red exclamation point" to a "Grey/green occupant or green check mark" and then disappear after buckling. The chime will stop immediately upon buckling.

Similar to the stationary condition, the visual indicator can be temporarily dismissed by the driver through the Vehicle Information Display by scrolling to another menu.
