The panoramic sunroof spontaneously exploded while on the highway. The noise was highly disturbing and almost made us crash because it was so unexpected. A glass company and insurance adjuster have looked at it and determined the whole system will have to be removed. There were no prior warnings.

On [XXX], I bought a 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum from Car Max, East Haven, CT with 15,500 miles on it, original tires. We noticed the Dunlap GrandTrek PT20 235/55R19 101V treads were warn for only 15,500 miles. Took the car on [XXX] to Town Fair Tire, Milford, CT to measure treads and they agreed that they were too warn for 15,500 miles. Their report showed remaining tread life FL-1, FR-1, RL-1, RR-1 and suggested I had one month left. I then took it to Paul Miller Nissan, Black Rock, CT [XXX] where their report showed "May require future attention" LF 5, RF 5, LR 4, RR 4 and said I WILL need tires before winter. Contacted Good Year claim number [XXX] and had the tires inspected by Jordan of Modern Tires, Shelton, CT who contacted Good Year after inspection. He got a response of tires not covered, too bad for you from Good Year. I'm [XXX] now because how can a 1 year old car with 15,500 miles need new tires? My vehicle cabin smells like gas after driving for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. I took it back to the dealership in January 10, 2024 where they changed hose assembly blow by PVC hose. This did not resolve the issue. The fuel smell is very strong inside the cab as will as standing outside the vehicle

I own a 2023 Nissan Rogue SV, I have a consistant odor problem, I have talk to corporate, and my dealer and neither will take responsiblity for the problem. The odor of gasoline smell is both outside and inside of the vehicle. I am going tomorrow (again) to the dealer to get some computer update and will again ask why they cannot fix this problem.

On March 13, 2023 I purchased a new Crown Nissan Rogue. For the most part, the car has performed well up until this year when I have had issues with the Engine Malfunction light coming on. Specifically, I get the message:” Engine Malfunction. Power reduced, Service now”. The car then goes into a slow decline of power and the speed reduces significantly at which point I will pull over to a safe spot and turn off the engine. Typically, after waiting a few minutes, I am able to start car without the engine coming on and will proceed home. This is the third such incident of this occurring this year (January, February and now March). I brought the vehicle in for service in February and noted this dilemma. The service personnel did address the issue but could not find anything that they could attribute it to. This latest episode occurred on March 22, 2024. Again, I pulled over and turned off the ignition and called service personnel. After letting the vehicle sit a while, I again was able to start it without the Malfunction light coming on and proceeded home until I can bring it in for service today. I am at the point that I am beginning to feel uncomfortable driving the vehicle because this is the third such time that this has occurred. God forbid that I am out on the highway when this happens. On around [XXX] around 9-10 pm. I hear a muffled explosion. It even vibrated our house. It scared me and our two dogs. On [XXX] we ran errands in my vehicle. We get home. I open her hatch to get stuff out. I hear broken glass sound. I look up to see her rear window completely shattered. With two holes. One in the same area on either side. The glass actually blew outwards!! I called my local Nissan in Greeneville, TN. They told me to bring it in on on [XXX]. Before taking it in. I googled our issue. Low and behold NUMEROUS 2021 Nissan Rogue owners on a Nissan Forum has had the same issue! Nissan denies that there's been any issues have they had to replace any rear windows due to this. On a Nissan Forum other customers have been denied as well! A company that makes BILLIONS won't accept responsibility. I know one thing. We'll never buy another Nissan for sure. As we had to pay out of pocket almost $500 to have it replaced. Nissan denied ours as I had to tape it all up. Otherwise it would've fallen out into the road. Roughly 2 dozen or more customers can't be lying nor be wrong. Please help us. As I'm pretty sure it's a bad batch of glass. If it were anything else there'd probably be more. My car has a horrible gas oder, at first only noticed it in the garage but the more I drive it the more I can smell it. Cannot put windows down while driving or you just smell gas. If you run lots of errands in a day you can start to smell it as you approach your car in the parking lot. I have had it in to nissan twice and all they do is replace a hose. But it is not a fix in fact it doesn't help at all

- #11576193March 8, 2024VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The cruise control and safety driving system shuts off and the message “Forward driving aids disabled. Front sensor blocked” comes on. This happens every few miles now. Pulling over, shutting off the engine, and restarting it resets the system, but it cuts out again. Sometimes if I just keep driving, it will reset itself in a few miles. This has been dangerous at highway speeds due to it coming on and vehicle decelerating suddenly. It's also dangerous because it shuts off the vehicle avoidance system. In a 4 hour trip it can happen up to 6 to 8 times. We've taken it to dealership, but they have not found an error message etc and said they cannot do anything about it unless the issue gets worse or a recall is created for the Lane Camera, which has had reported issues of overheating. The following web link has more information of other drivers with the exact same issue as I described... The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated after shifting into drive and driving at low speeds, the front driver’s side seat unintendedly reclined backwards. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer three times, where the computer programming was reset. Additionally, the dealer test drove the vehicle for approximately 400 miles but was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,288.

On [XXX], on our 2023 Rogue with only 9100 miles on it suffered complete engine failure while driving the highway. The car had been operating for about 10 minutes, and we had just onboarded the freeway entrance and after about a mile at normal highway speeds, with no warning, the engine started making loud knocking sounds and there was a immediate loss of motive power. This occurred during heavy traffic and was a close call with drivers behind the car. If the car had been in the left most or middle lanes of the highway it is likely the car would have not made it off the middle of the highway and it likely could have caused a severe chain reaction accident, and it could have been life threatening as it was during rush hour with heavy rush traffic and lots of large trucks. Since we were still in the right most lane we were able to roll onto an exit ramp where the engine stopped all together because there was no more forward momentum. We were not even able to pull off the exit lane completely putting the occupants at risk. We had our 3 year old in the car and the incident was very traumatic as the risk of being rear-ended during and after the failure was significant. Attempt to restart the car resulted in the engine attempting to but failing to turn over. Road side assistance came in about 55 minutes, but we fortunately had family come and take the 3 year old to safety so no longer at risk. The car was towed to a Nissan dealership for service. The service department stated they opened the pan on the engine and large and small pieces of metal were in the pan and just fell out. They said the engine suffered a total failure. We do not feel safe in this car any longer even if they repair it. This is the exact issue being investigated, NHTSA Action Number [XXX]: - Complete loss of motive power due to engine failure. Nissan knows about it yet they have not made the effort to recall the vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The 2023 Nissan Rogue we have as a lease with 9,000 miles on it. 10 minutes after driving it and going on the highway with in 1 minutes the engine abruptly started knocking and stuttering and immediate loss of motive power. Fortunately the car was in the left most lane and an exist was able to enter the exit ramp but the vehicle started sputtering and stalled and would not restart. Restart attempts resulted in engine stuttering and it the engine shutting off. We think this is the exact symptoms as described in PE23023 with these Nissan engine failures. Reporting since this should be recalled for safty and because we had a 3 year old child in the card and we fear that this could have caused risk of death by loss of motive power on the highway and if the car was in the fast or middle lanes could have resulted very high risk situation of a car with no power stuck on the highway in rush hour. I'm thankful my family is OK but this failure was a close call that could have caused a chain of accidents on the highway with possible loss of life. There were no warning indications displayed by the before the incident occurred, it was extremely sudden. After car stalled attempts to restart showed maintenance required and what appear to have been several unclear messages. battery charge was checked by tow truck and attempts to start with assisted power from additional battery made no change, the engine could not remain running it turned over and quickly sputtered and stalled and failed. The car is now at the dealership being looked at but we wanted to report this due to the severity of the issue and how it occurred, especially after reading that Nissan is aware of this particular issue as described in PE23023. I would recommend a recall as this is not a safe vehicle. Out family will no longer use this car ever again for our safety and the safety of our young child.

There is an ongoing problem with a fuel (gasoline) odor in the cabin. This most commonly occurs in a warm start situation, ie the car has sat for 15 minutes to an hour after driving. When the car starts there is a strong gas smell which does not dissipate for anywhere from 10 minutes up to 45 minutes. Strangely this seems worse when the vehicle has backed up prior to shutting down. This does not seem to be a problem when cold (sitting overnight or for 4 or more hours) at this point. I am concerned that this may result in a fire and the obvious issues regarding health concerns related to breathing gas vapor. The dealer says they are aware of the problem but they are unable to resolve it at this point.

Purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue in May 2023 with less than 10 miles on it. Shortly after purchase myself and my family noticed the smell of gas fumes in the cabin, which I initially ignored. I took the car back to the dealership in August 2023 at 4,700 miles due to the noxious fumes/smell. The car’s PCV valve was replaced for the first time. I again took the vehicle into the dealership in December 2023 at 12,900 miles due to the extremely strong smell of gas fumes coming into the cabin but also radiating throughout my entire garage. These fumes burn my eyes, throat, make me nauseous, and cause headaches. My heated garage has an open flame heater and I became worried that the potentially uncombusted gas products leaking into the air could cause an explosion or fire. The dealership replaced my PCV hose a second time, but this did not solve the issue. I returned to dealership in February 2024 at 15,000 miles for persistent gas fumes in the cabin and radiating throughout my garage. There was nothing wrong with my PCV hose and the PCV hoses were on “back order”. Nothing was done to my car other than “wash off the engine bay to try to get rid of the smell”. Nissan was unable to resolve the issue or produce any viable solutions, they returned my car to me the next day and after driving it home from work and parking it in my garage, the noxious gas/odor was still strongly present and I was told by family that my clothes smell like gasoline/oil fumes. I am afraid for my health and safety while driving this vehicle. I do not feel that Nissan has adequately addressed this issue and continues to ignore it without producing viable solutions. It appears to me that there is likely a defect in the engineering/manufacturing of this vehicle and intrinsic faults within the engine and its components. I believe that if action is not taken by Nissan or governmental regulatory bodies, consumers will experience serious health and safety consequences.

My son and I were driving home and my 2022 Nissan rogue SV suddenly began making extremely loud banging and knocking sounds in the engine bay. We were traveling approximately 40 mph and did not hit any bumps. The following morning the vehicle was towed to the dealership for inspection and we were told that day that the engine would need to be replaced. While we did not get too many specifics from the dealership regarding the exact cause, it was related to some bearings of some sort and causing what is called rod knock. The vehicle remain at the dealership until a new engine , or new engine parts, could be delivered. Nissan's warranty covered the cost of the repairs since the vehicle only had roughly 15,000 miles on it when the incident occurred. I have not had the vehicle inspected by a third party to confirm that the entire engine was replaced or if only certain parts were. One of the technicians at the dealership mentioned that they had seen or heard whispers about several reports of this particular issue, which is part of why they were able to diagnose it so quickly, but couldn't confirm the exact cause of that engines failure. Prior to the engine failing, there were no warning lights or indicators present in the vehicle. The vehicle has received regularly scheduled maintenance at this dealership since it's purchase. This incident occurred on December 2nd, 2023. I took a video the night of the incident of the vehicle and the knocking sounds it was making , but I can't upload it via this incident report, so let me know if you would like it and I will send it another way.
