- #11523452May 23, 2023LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION, BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING
The wire harness for the doors, which are designed to be removed easily, doesn't function properly causing pins to become bent when being reinsert. This causes several systems to malfunction and alert improperly. The blind Spot assist and cross rear warning is affected. This a common and known problem amongst Jeep owners who removed their doors.

Uncontrollable wobble in the front end that starts after 50mph. I have seen many other online comments about this, and they are saying Jeep cannot fix it. This is absolute fatality waiting to happen. This needs to be addressed immediately before someone dies, if it hasn't already happened. This issue goes back quite a number of years. There has not been a recall on this and I cannot believe that. I have seen that there has been a class action law suit filed by Jeep owners, and I am astounded that nothing has been done. I am hoping NHTSA can help us before something happens. Thank You.

Steering on jeep is very loose on cold mornings. It gets very wobbly and unable to control above 40mg. You have to be super careful when driving. Took it to the dealership and they said I would need to contact jeep wave as it’s a known issue with “ death wobble “. This jeep is a 2022 with zero modifications and has the crazy wobble.

Safety Recall has been issued for Jeep Gladiator Clutch Recall campaign 23V116000. My vehicle (VIN [XXX]) is a recalled vehicle. I have been notified by the auto manufacturer, but there is no remedy for the affected part and no timeline for when a remedy will be identified. Considering the potential impact of this safety recall, not having a remedy is an unacceptable response. I have contacted FCA and my dealership and FCA customer service and have yet to receive guidance or resolution on this issue. Driving an unsafe vehicle is not acceptable to me or my family. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

While driving early march vehicles front wheels started shaking uncontrollable with the only way to stop it was slowing down to 45 mph in the middle of the freeway. Vehicle was taken to the dealership for what they called the Death Wobble, the part they said was needed was on backorder with no ship date. This morning the same wabble started again only this time I was almost hit by another car when I had to slow to 45 mph for Wobble to stop. This is a very dangerous situation that could happen at any moment and the only way to stop the wobble is slowing down. The manufacturer is very much aware of this and cannot supply the parts needed to fix this.

- #11514031March 27, 2023VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, UNKNOWN OR OTHER, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
On February 25, 2023, while slowing down as I approached an intersection controlled by a red signal light and applied my brakes which was slowing me down. My foot never moved off the brake pedal as I slowed down. Suddenly, the Jeep Gladiator "accelerated/surged" forward and stated gaining speed. Although I was applying constant pressure on the brake pedal, the vehicle never slowed down or stopped because after traveling 200-300 feet and striking two signal light poles and a communications box, the vehicle came to a stop. This was the third incidence of Sudden Unintended Acceleration (SUA). Tshe vehicle is available for inspection and under the supervision of Safeco Insurance. In this case, injuries were limited to a passenger broken toe and the driver being bruised. Similar accidents involving striking stationary poles resulted in death but we were spared that outcome. The first instance of SUA occurred on a street near my home and while applying constant pressure on the brake pedal, the vehicle finally skidded to a stop after traveling approximately 200 feet. The second instance of SUA occurred while pulling into a parking lot, and again, after applying constant pressure on the brake pedal, the vehicle came to a stop after traveling approximately 300 feet. After the first and second instances, I took the vehicle into the dealership, but they could not find anything wrong. The police report blamed an electrical/mechanical failure. No warning lights or messages were noted.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions, and she was informed that there was an electrical short in the electrical wiring. The vehicle had been serviced three times under warranty; however, the failure returned after each repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

While driving at highway speeds and the vehicle goes over a bump, bridge connection, etc the vehicle goes into an uncontrollable “death wobble”. This began with less than 10,000 miles on the vehicle, and the vehicle has not had any alterations from factory (factory wheels, tires, suspension, etc.). I brought the vehicle to the dealer in Oct 2022, and a part was on national backorder, after 2 months it arrived and was installed Dec 2022, and the problem persists and now the dealership says a different part is needed, also on nation back order. When you are driving the vehicle and the “death wobble” starts it is extreme shaking of the vehicle front end, and steering wheel. The only way to fix is to slow the vehicle down to 25-30 mph, which can be very dangerous on the highway, especially when in the fast lane on a busy highway with other traffic traveling between 65-80 mph. This has occurred well over a dozen times, and has not only been frightening each time but a few of those times my vehicle has become a hazard to other drivers to avoid. Currently I cannot feel safe driving the vehicle on the highway and have been confined to local driving on city roads.

In December contacted my dealer about my vehicle catching fire. Due to a clutch recall that the maker already knew about. I was blown off as if the problem didn't exsist and told the dealer would not honor Jeep warranty so not to bring it there. The next option is an hour away and they were booking 2 months out. Then in March I looked up the recalls and the exact issue with my Jeep was recalled now on my Jeep with no remedy. This recall has been open on these since 2020 with no remedy. Called Jeep and they have no remedy or care in helping me make sure my brand new 2021 Jeep doesn't burn down. Also, the clutch has caused my transmission to now start slipping in 3rd gear. Someone needs to hold Jeep accountable.

- #11511705March 14, 2023ENGINE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated while driving approximately 45-50 MPH, the horn, windshield wipers, and several unknown warning lights were illuminated and flashing. The vehicle turned on and off until the battery drained. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the auxiliary battery, fuse, fuse box, and battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. While driving, the vehicle turned on and off. The electrical system was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Griffin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Valdosta (4164 N Valdosta Rd, Valdosta, GA 31602) to be diagnosed and it was determined that the fuse box needed to be replaced. The parts were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 16,700.

In the last two months my truck has developed an issue at high speeds when a bump is gone over that causes the front end to shake violently. The only way to stop the vibration is to slow down which can be hard to do on the highway at 70mph without causing an accident. The problem occurs without notice or warning and the bump does not have to be large. Have taken in to dealer and the front stabilizer bar is loose and allowing play in steering system. Have been told at least 2 months before parts arrive. The shaking has happened twice in just the last week. It appears to be getting worse with each mile driven. I do not feel safe driving this truck but have to keep driving it.

When the vehicle hits a bump at highway speeds of 65-70mph it can lead to a very strong vibration or shaking of the steering wheel. At this speed it is very "frightening" and feels like total loss of control of the steering as it was unable to change lanes. Driver must immediately slow down to 45-50mph to regain control which could have impacted other following vehicles and possible rear end collision.

While Driving at highway speed on I75. As the vehicle hit a pot hole/ bumpy portion of roadway, the steering was uncontrollable. I checked the internet and it’s referred to as the “Death Wobble”. This has happed twice to me. The dealer changed the steering damper. It’s a serious safety issue. I’m surprised there hasn’t been a recall yet. This needs to be addressed before someone is seriously injured or forbid killed.

When at highway speeds 50+mph, and I hit a bump, vehicle begins to shake in varying degrees of severity. Slowing down, stopping completely, or something another bump will stop the shaking. Vehicle is stock, not alterations have been made. Has been brought to the attention of service techs at Olathe Jeep. Informed issue may be with steering stabilizer, part on back order. Noticed issue at 5000 miles. Has been ongoing for months, no resolution.
