ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The navigation/ radio / rear view camera just resets multiple times while driving, sometimes it happens more frequently than other days. Message that comes up is: Network Communication Lost. Researched online and tried to resolve via software update but seems to made it worse. Reluctant to take to the dealer as warranty has expired and more importantly, blogs show that the issues have never been resolved even after dealer. Wiring harness replacement didn’t resolve.

The passenger side door of my 2008 Honda Odyssey fell off when attempting to close it and nearly fell onto my child. The automatic sliding door was closing and around halfway closed it fell off of the track and started opening back up unprompted, thus damaging the rear right quarter panel as well. This is a major safety issue as it nearly crushed my [XXX] daughter, but thankfully was caught in time. A man parked near us in the parking lot helped us pick the door back up and said the same thing happened to him, also in a 2008 Honda Odyssey! ENGINE
the engine has failure has been twice 5500 repair, because the ECO mode that was known in a former class action. HONDA Motor has done nothing to actually cure the problem and continues to sell faulty engines that can cause engine failure mid drive and causes a safety issue, and has proven over and over again that this failure has not been resolved. We were told by a few places so the engine doesn't go out again this would be a third time and ALL WORK HAS BEEN DONE AT HONDA! TO buy from amazon a item called the VCM muzzler to shut down the software so the engine will work for longer, and there is a secondary market for this , and a few of the 3.5 liter v6 HONDA engines- how is this not been a engine recall, on a 46K vechial with 5500 repairs required 2 times in 50K and we know it will go out a third time, and the van is no longer safe and reliable and yet we purchased the car new all work done at honda, and another 5500 for the repair, and the car still does run as it should doesn't accelerate as it should causing safety issues. I really hope you research and get people that own these cars recalled to be a safe car. thank you

This Honda Odysse 2018 model has leak water on rear corner . You have to find out where is leaking and fix it , if you don't fix water leak after you install new control unit it will happen again . To find out where is leaking is a major problem. Honda DO NOT recall on it

After the PGM-FI update was put into our car, the engine cuts out entirely while at stop lights and will not wake back up. The Honda dealership is saying that there is nothing they can do.

my odyssey falls under the dec 2023 fuel system recall. my van has the symptoms but no check engine light. ive made honda aware, but still no parts available to fix. ive been told they wont fix unless the check engine light is on, this is unacceptable especially when its a RECALL that has to be fixed. symptoms have gotten worse and im honestly ready to trade in the van if honda wont repair it. this is unacceptable, its almost a year since the recall was issued.

POWER TRAIN
Over the course of the 38 months that we have owned the vehicle, random transmission slippage has been present on this 2019 Odyssey. I mentioned the slippage to the service advisors at the dealership when taking the vehicle in for oil changes. The technician was “not able to replicate the problem.” The slippage was always a safety concern. The van is highly unpredictable on acceleration, making it dangerous to try to pull into traffic, for example, since the driver never knows whether the van will accelerate on demand or not. Other times, the engagement will occur gradually, causing the van to accelerate sloooooowly, despite the driver having significant throttle applied. The display now reads “Transmission System Problem” and WILL NOT shift out of park. I had it towed to the local auto repair shop to be diagnosed. The transmission needs replaced.

There has been an open recall on my vehicle for 10 months but the carmaker and dealerships are refusing to fix it. They are claiming "parts availability" but it has been 10 months now and they are selling the part online for profit. They are also using parts to sell new vehicles for profit before addressing the safety issue for existing owners.

Rear tailgate is inoperable because of water damage. The rear driver side seatbelt is wet, the floor of the trunk is wet, the water damaged the control module for the rear tailgate, it does not open.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact noticed a strong fuel odor in the interior of the vehicle. The contact stated that the fuel odor was overwhelming. In addition, the contact stated that the fuel odor was also noticed outside the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle had been taken to the dealer several times, however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact was informed that nothing could be done regarding the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. In addition, the contact stated that he was contacted by a Honda representative, however the case was closed after the representative spoke with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.

When trying to accelerate from a stop either in an intersection or from a driveway the vehicle takes a long moment before it responds... leaving my family vulnerable to cars coming from the opposite direction. I think it's the transmission but it could have to do with the fuel intake... it has been ongoing for months and months. The dealer has attempted to rectify but to not avail....very dangerous

Multipurpose camera failure. Warnings appeared upon failure after being parked in the shade on a moderately warm day ~80 degrees. Warnings with chimes reappear after being cleared, causing distraction while driving. Safety systems are inoperable without expensive camera replacement. Systems disabled as a result include Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation System, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Auto High Beam system.

The incidents of sudden acceleration while braking on this model are vast. My van has experienced several sudden un-commanded acceleration incidents while braking starting in 2022. Honda lawyers are in control and thus no technical explanation. My last event was on [XXX] post hurricane Helene in Asheville N.C. The response of the NHTSA is needed due to people of modest means need to keep their car as long as possible. This requires honest service information from Honda. Honda has reaped a well deserved dividend cultivating the belief that their product with careful use can last 20 years or more. Honda does not deserve to reap this benefit while failing to execute an honest service which creates an unsafe vehicle. In 2023 the Throttle Position Sensor and its complete assembly was replaced in hope of a resolution. I will now replace the Engine Control CPU after the [XXX] incident. These repairs and expense are un-diagnosed non-OBD supported “shots in the dark” because Honda will not recognize the failure. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

UNKNOWN At random times I will push the gas pedal and the car does not engage at all to move. I will lift my foot up and down trying to engage the engine and it won’t. After a few times it will catch and the car takes off making the tires squeal, spin or jerk. It happens at random times, no warnings whatsoever that there’s a problem. It is very dangerous at intersections when turning left on green lights, when pulling out of parking lots. It’s to the point I am afraid to drive it at busy traffic times because it happens so often and I’m afraid of getting hit while my car will not move. We have told the dealership and they suggested we wait for the fuel pump recall to be readily available. I looked in forums and this seems to be a major problem for many other owners of the 2018 or newer. It started approximately two years ago and continues to happen, in fact happening more often.

ACC system started giving errors, diagnostics ran at Honda pointed to multi function camera. System was quoted for replacement at 1500 this seems to be a big problem across these models. Please investigate.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 MPH and merging onto the freeway, the front passenger’s side curtain air bag and front passenger seat air bag were erroneously deployed. The contact stated that during the failure there was no crash to cause the air bags to deploy. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000.
