Incident 1: Pulled out from stop sign car made funny noises, light came on said it couldn't shift to drive. Had towed to dealer. They said couldn't find issue except it was quart and a half low of transmission fluid. The car had approx 3,500 miles on it. Incident 2: For about two weeks when pulling out felt like it was skipping but didn't feel like transmission. Felt like over powered. Then it done same as Incident 1. Pulled out made noise would not move. Notice that is couldn't shift and check engine light came on had it towed again. Approx 6,300 miles on it. They then said it was very low on transmission fluid and they did find a small hole in hose. Danger is pulling out and it just stops in cross traffic and won't move could easily be hit. It is very scary to drive not knowing if or when it is going to happen. I have no current invoice on vehicle as it is still in shop.

I was driving down a paved road and my side airbags deployed. The gm investigation showed my car left the road way, however I am uncertain of that. There was no crash or impact or damage to the vehicle from this incident other than the airbags deploying. There is a scrape on the passenger side due to an incident in April. That is not related to this incident.

My wife and I took our new vehicle on a 7k mile road trip this summer. Two times while on the freeway around 70 MPH, the sensors went wild. The cars auto break came on and red lights and collision warnings went off in the seat and the HUD. The vehicle slowed down to about 35 immediately! Then everything turned off and we sped back went down the road like nothing happened. Luckily there was no behind us or in front of us for a good distance. The thing is during both of the there was a car in the lane next to us at our 1 or 2 o'clock position. Perhaps the sensors. Mistakingly thought we were about to hit that car. Can these seniors be adjusted?

I purchased a new 2024 GMC Terrain in March 2024. At the time of the incident the mileage was approximately 18,000 miles. On [XXX], as I was driving on a MA state highway, the car lost power with no warning. I was able to "coast" into a parking lot where I contacted OnStar; a flatbed tow truck was dispatched and the car was towed to the local dealership where it was purchased. At this time, the car is still at the dealer as I was informed by dealer service consultant that it's a "massive" transmission job and parts were on back order from GMC for over three weeks. I specifically purchased this vehicle to be safe on my monthly trips to NY to visit grandchild. I no longer feel safe in this vehicle and have no guarantee this won't happen again. The fact that the transmission failed in 1 yr. old car at 18,000 miles is of great concern to me. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that upon approaching an intersection with a red light, the contact depressed the brake pedal, and the vehicle lost automotive power. The vehicle came to a stop at the light. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be inspected, and the contact was advised that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed by an authorized GMC Dealer. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was advised that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000.

a little over two weeks ago we were going to sidney to get groceries. it was hot that day so we turned the a/c on. fog started coming out of the vents, it looked like we turned on a fog machine! a few days later we were going to town, my daughter got in and the whole driver's side floor was full of water. there was so much of it we had to get the shop vac out to suck it up. I called the dealer where we purchased it from because it still under warranty. their shop guy was out for the week so they scheduled me an appt for the following week. by this time my speakers aren't working, my signal lights dont make any sounds when I use them and the floor is soaked again. on August 5th we took the car into high plains and left it. they said they worked on it for 4 hours and fixed the problem, some drain line was plugged with sludge and so the water knocked out a module or amp. I thot everything would be covered but then they said I'd have to pay because all of a sudden a mouse had causes that line to get plugged. I asked them for pictures because im turning it into my insurance company, and they said they would send them. they never have I requested the pictures 2x, once with Patrick the shop manager and then with Jeff presser, owner. Still today, nothing. Meanwhile yesterday here comes all the water on the floor again. We use this vehicle to haul my grandson to his therapies and medical appointments. he [XXX]. Now were worried that mold has started growing because even though were sucking up the water, the floor pad and carpet are still wet. I went online and have seen numerous people complaining about the same issue for years with these GMC Terrains, why hasnt there been a recall or national warning on this faulty problem? - #11673998July 16, 2025STEERING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
My son was making a left onto a freeway on ramp after traffic cleared and the steering wheel completely locked up resulting in him going over the curb and rolling completely over in a steep ditch. This occurred at a low speed (no more than 25mph), confirmed by the Life369 app. My son's description was that it felt like the wheels were against a wall and the wheel wouldn't turn even though he was using both hands in an attempt to turn. My son said there was no warning lights or any other indication that he noticed, other than the complete locking up of the steering. The resulting rollover into the ditch has totaled the vehicle so it was not inspected by any collision shop. I attempted to check the steering in the tow yard but the vehicle had no power.

My GMC Terrain was stopped in traffic at a Red Light. When I stepped on the gas pedal to proceed, the SUV shut-down. Could not move SUV in Traffic. Called Police and SUV was towed. SUV towed to GMC Dealer. The K111 Fuel Module was causing the problem. GMC Dealer Repair Shop removed and replaced the K111 Fuel Module. They claimed SUV is OK. I don't trust this SUV any longer. I read of similar problems with 2022 GMC Terrain and the Fuel Module defect causing the SUV to shut down. This is a safety hazard to the Driver and other vehicles on the highway.

- #11670483July 1, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Driving my vehicle with no warnings, messages, or symptoms on adaptive cruise control Sunday [XXX] on [XXX] in Michigan. I changed lanes into the right lane when the vehicle abruptly, without notification, and with force, caused braking that unexpectedly and dangerously slowed the vehicle then released braking before doing the same a moment later. Vehicle was pulled off the road onto the shoulder without an accident, thankfully nobody was behind because they would not have been able to stop in time before hitting my vehicle and I assume the brake lights weren't activated since I did not press the brake pedal either time the vehicle was abruptly slowed causing audible noise of traction loss due to skidding. Vehicle engine would function but parking brake remained active leaving vehicle unable to change gears and transmission warning showed on instrument panel. Vehicle towed to a Chevrolet dealer in Grayling, Michigan where it remains and would be available for inspection. Dealer shows transmission as the cause and in need of replacement. Vehicle has been maintained at GM shops since original ownership. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact stated that the vehicle the lost motive power in the middle of the roadway. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the high-pressure fuel pump, causing fuel to leak into the oil, resulting in damages to the catalytic converter and Oxygen sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 41,000.

infotainment system safety issues. I have video. Multiple times per week when starting the car and backing the rear camera engages. When placing car in drive the rear camera never shuts off, the sound volume doesn't work, the entire infotainment system completely malfunctions. The safety is when attempting to function the controls the volume will turn up and not able to turn it down, the screen flashes and the infotainment systems controls on the steering wheel do NOT function. I've had it to the dealer and they indicate PIC6591A from March 3rd 2025 is logged. When contacting GMC corporate they refuse to give any information. The PIC spans across many GMC vehicles including 2019 models. Why hasn't this been addressed? My son drives a 2024 Chevy Trax and this car has no issues like the my car does. His car also doesn't have the transmission/gear shift buttons like the 2024 terrain does. Anyone else having issues with the GMC infotainment systems, black screen, malfunction? I have video.
