Sometimes the truck will start violently shaking when reaching speeds over 50 mph. Vehicle becomes impossible to control and the only way to eliminate the shaking is to slow down or stop the vehicle.

Hitting certain bumps or transitions at higher speeds, the truck goes into the death wobble and is close to uncontrollable with bouncing and shuddering until you pull over and come to a stop.

Ford F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab (Diesel) - Purchased new in October 2016 - Problem first appeared Nov 2017 and has recurred at least 6 more times. - Description: At irregular intervals, all of the dashboard warning lights and system warnings (incl. check engine, electric, oil pressure, tire warning, ABS, select-trac, etc.) go off. At that time, all gauges (except gas) fail including speedometer. The vehicle continues to run, but without working gauges, etc. If the vehicle is turned off, it will not start - at least not immediately. After some period of time, ranging from 20 minutes to overnight, the vehicle will again start, but may start flashing the same codes and warnings again. As previously mentioned, this problem has existed since 2017 and occurs at unpredictable times. - Vehicle has been serviced by 3 different Ford dealers, none of which have been able to resolve the problem and in most cases, duplicate the issue . However, problem has been tentatively identified as a problem with the BCM (body control module) located behind the passenger side kick plate. One dealer allegedly replaced the BCM (in Feb 2020), but the problem has recurred 3 more times. - At present, the current dealer has advised that there is a huge backorder for the BCM (exceeding 1200 orders) as well as a "stop sell" order which they tell me is Ford's way of saying "even if you have this part in stock, you can't sell it" because it's likely defective. The service manager said there are no other sources of this part (aftermarket, etc.). - Because of the lack of reliability of the vehicle and the safety issues of driving without a speedometer and other necessary gauges, as well as the unknown damage that might be done to the engine, I believe the vehicle is a safety hazard to myself and others. - Based on internet reports, this is a fairly widespread problem with similar reports affecting Ford trucks from 2012 - 2016 and possibly others.

This Vehicle has been to the dealer 3 times for the Ford wobble where the vehicle shacks violently after hitting un-level pavement. 4/23/2019 - Replaced the Linkage Damper 4/8/2021 - Replaced the linkage Damper 4/9/2021 - Took it back because I still felt shacky when hitting bumps in the road. Mike Bass stated there is nothing wrong with the truck. 4/28/2022 - Damper is bad again, took it to the dealer and they are changing the Damper again. Clearly there is some underline issues causing the linkage to get tore up on this Truck or it is a design issue. In either case it is an unsafe vehicle.

Hitting a bump while driving at freeway speed will result in an uncontrollable shake of the truck that sometime force the truck to move from lane to lane. The shake will continue until the truck slow down to about 20 MPH. The dealer has the truck for 2 weeks but they could not find any issue and return the truck back without any repair and stated that the truck is safe to drive. They refuse to do the test drive.

The contact stated that the failures occurred while driving at undisclosed speeds. The contact stated that after driving over bumps on the road the vehicle experienced a violent and uncontrollable shaking without warning. The contact stated that once the vehicle slowed down, the vehicle would resume normal operation. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who replaced the track bar and track bar ball joint; as well as, the front and rear shocks. Despite the repair, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic after the second failure and remained in the possession of the independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and he was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle and was provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. I was driving down the highway and for some unknown reason the front end of my truck started shaking violently. I had to pull over to the side of the highway to get it to stop. This has happened previously but not nearly as bad as I only slowed down to get the shaking to stop.

Front end death wobble. It began slightly about 6 months ago but progressively has gotten worse. Today driving from 40mph to interstate speeds of 70mph. It is scary and dangerous. Please do whatever is necessary to have FORD recall and fix for this issue.

For about the last 12 months, my truck has what they call the death wobble. This is happened continuously at speeds of 40 to 60 miles an hour and sometimes even takes me off the road and I have to pull over and stop. In addition, I believe the brakes went out due to the continuous wobbling

I was driving in the freeway approximately 70 mph when the truck drove over a small imperfection in the road and immediately started to shake violently and uncontrollably (often referred to as death wobble) I left off of the gas and as the vehicle slowed to 50 mph the shaking went away. This shaking is very violent and takes away from the drivers ability to control the vehicle in a safe manner amongst traffic on a busy freeway. Of the brake is pressed the shaking becomes worse until the vehicle slows. I took the truck to the dealer which the dealer advised that there was a recall on the steering dampener and replaced it stating that will relieve the truck of a death wobble . However, this did not fix the issue as I took it on the freeway and experienced the same exact issue. The truck has not been inspected by anyone other than the dealer. No lights or warnings were given at any time before during or after r the incident.

- #11461844April 22, 2022POWER TRAIN
While driving and coming to stop two times the transmission downshifted rough causing the wrench light to come on saying powertrain/ four-wheel drive fault. Had to have the vehicle towed to my home and make appointment to have vehicle looked at the next week. I have read other forums and many people have been stating the same exact thing has happened to them in the 17+ year super duty’s and ford has been secretly fixing the issue when customers bring vehicle in for oil changes or service. I also read that the transmission doing this causes metal shavings to end up in the fluid and clog lines. I feel this is a severe issue if I would have been towing, it would have caused an accident.
