Transmission issues: Harsh, erratic shifting (jerking, lurching, and hesitating, especially when cold). Delayed engagement (2 to 3 seconds before engaging Drive or Reverse). Gear slippage accompanied by prominent clunking. Severe risk of total transmission failure if left unaddressed.

In November of 2025. I took my truck, 2017 f-150 3.5 Liter engine, to Crest Ford in Flat Rock Mi. There was a recall on the master cylinder (25S37). On 5-26-2026 we were following a friend to take his car to Dean Arbour Ford in east Tawas for service. While trying to slow down for a turn my brake pedal went VERY SOFT almost to the floor. I was able to slow my truck down enough to make the turn. I then proceeded very carefully to the dealer. It was all country roads with no traffic. By the time I got to the dealer my brake pedal went all the to the floor. I almost had to use the emergency brake to stop. If this would of happened on the expressway we could of been killed or killed someone else. There was no way I could of stopped in an emergency. Upon investigation the new Master Brake Cylinder that was put on in November of 2025 failed. I was told they don't know how long it will be to get a new part because Ford requested all the new Master Cylinders to be returned. So it sounds to me that there could be alot more vehicles with bad Master Cylinders that customer had replaced and do not know they are bad. I was having no issues with my brakes on the old Master Cylinder. I am also being told that it's a warranty issue because the recall on it was closed when the Master Cylinder was replaced in November of 2025.

2016 Ford F-150 experiencing intermittent and dangerous transmission behavior consistent with the current Ford safety recall involving unexpected transmission downshifts on vehicles equipped with the 6R80 transmission. Vehicle previously required a full transmission replacement/rebuild in September 2025 after repeated violent downshifting and drivability problems. Diagnostic codes at that time included P0705, P0707, P1702, and P1921 involving transmission range sensor and intermittent transmission signal faults. Following the rebuild, intermittent drivability concerns continued. Over several months, vehicle would periodically not “sound right” during operation, although symptoms were difficult to duplicate consistently. Check engine light would intermittently illuminate after approximately one hour or more of continuous driving and later clear itself after vehicle cooled down overnight. Current symptoms have worsened and include unexpected downshifting, inability to manually shift using dash controls, skipped gears, delayed downshifts/upshifts, remaining in 3rd gear while slowing to a stop, and behavior consistent with being stuck in low gear while traveling above 50 mph with excessively high RPMs. Vehicle intermittently appears unable to properly determine gear position. On May 19, 2026 I experienced uncontrollable downshifting and engine revving that resulted in an inability to safely operate the vehicle. Transmission behavior creates unsafe driving conditions and concern for loss of vehicle control during highway operation. Vehicle is now considered unsafe to operate and will be towed to a Ford dealership for evaluation related to the active safety recall.

The contact owned a 2015 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 10 MPH inside a shopping center parking lot, the contact initiated a turn. Suddenly and without warning, the vehicle experienced a sensation of "gliding" and the contact was unable to maintain control. The vehicle then accelerated unexpectedly, which resulted in a total loss of steering and vehicle control. This sudden loss of control caused the vehicle to crash into a music academy building. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaigns Number: 26V237000 (Power Train) to be the cause of the incident. The front bumper and windshield of the vehicle were heavily damaged. The property damage include a building for a music academy. The contact stated the vehicle stopped immediately upon impact. The Air Bags were not deployed. The vehicle was towed to a insurance lot. The contact did report of any illuminated waring lights prior to the collision. A police report was filed. The contact was the only occupant in the vehicle. The contact was the only party involved in the collision. The contact stated she injured her shoulders, neck, left knee, and back. The contact sustained injuries to her shoulders, neck, left knee, and back and received medical treatment at a hospital and was placed on medication. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000.

Vehicle shifts hard and sometimes goes to high RPM before it finds a gear. It also slams into gear once it finally does go into gear. It also shudders when downshifting to pass and feels like the truck is about to fall apart while shaking

Transmission. Extremely delayed up shifts. Lurching when placed into reverse. Vehicle would also roll backwards when switching from reverse to drive. Degradation happens over two thousand miles. Got to the point it was a clear safety issue. CDF Failure confirmed by independent shop. Repaired at my cost.

In the winter the two front doors freeze. I had my twelve year old daughter in the car and turned a corner and the door opened at 25 miles and hour and she had to hold on. We have bungy corded the doors shut during the winter. Ford does not have a safety recall and stated to let the car heat up for 30 mins before use. From online forums this is a common issue for 2021 F150's. Ford should be responsible for fixing the issues

While parked in my driveway, the rear window exploded/shattered. I had local Ford rep come look at it, take pictures and submit to Ford for warranty coverage. The vehicle was purchased in January 2025 and has 28,888 miles - so still under warranty. Ford has denied warranty coverage. I believe this to be a safety issue and am reporting it.

I was driving by and received multiple warnings about brakes. Brake assist, one pedal driving, reverse brake assist, general brake warning. After the came on the brake were spongy with a hard brake after applying more pressure to the pedal. I needed to apply more pressure because the car was not stopping. I almost hit various cars on the way home because there is certainly an adjustment needed to my braking habits. Very dangerous and unsafe. I took the truck to the dealership and quoted me around $2,500. This is something I have no control over and see that there is a recall on this issue for a 2025 model, but my vehicle does not fall under this recall.
