I bought the truck new in 2018. In 2020, the transmission was rebuilt twice, and then a new one was installed. The automatic 10-speed transmission changes gears roughly and now I'm having the same problem with the transmission just abruptly switching gears up and down. It's a serious concern for me when I am cruising at 70 mph on I-95, and all of a sudden, the gears start randomly shifting, dropping to 3rd gear from 10th and then up to 7th, and then repeatedly shifting gears up and down.

- #11682799August 25, 2025SERVICE BRAKES
Vehicle drove fine to work and upon getting in to return home and staring the vehicle, the brake pedal was instantly spongy and low brake fluid alert displayed on dash. There was a difference in 9 hours from when the brakes were fully functional to having brakes were completely out and nonfunctional. Had vehicle towed to local dealership and their diagnosis was "master cylinder is bleeding into the booster" and booster "full of brake fluid." This exact issue has been known and was supposed to be addressed but there have been numerous issues with the new parts installed after the recall leading to subsequent master cylinder/booster failures. Since it has already been "repaired" under the initial recall, the subsequent repair cost $1,300 including diagnostic.

The catalytic converter was reprogrammed a second time and then eventually replaced. Later, the check engine light illuminated, and the contact was informed that the second catalytic converter was faulty. No further information was available. The vehicle was not yet repaired. My 2021 Ford F-150 5.0L V8 with the 10-speed automatic transmission has ongoing and severe transmission issues that create a dangerous safety hazard. The vehicle intermittently loses power and feels like it slips completely out of gear while driving, including at highway speeds. This sudden loss of acceleration is unsafe and could easily lead to an accident. The most severe issues occur between 2nd and 4th gear. The truck slams in and out of gear, hesitates, and lurches violently. Shifting often feels like the transmission is “hunting” for the right gear, and hesitation occurs throughout other gear ranges as well. At times, it feels like a new driver learning to operate a manual transmission—jerky, unpredictable, and unsafe. This is not an isolated problem. After researching on multiple owner forums, I found many other 2021 F-150 owners reporting the exact same issues: slipping out of gear, hard shifts between 2nd–4th, hesitation, loss of power, and violent shifting. These widespread complaints strongly suggest a defect in the design or function of this 10-speed transmission. This is not just a drivability issue—it is a critical safety concern. I have lost power while merging and while traveling at highway speeds, leaving me unable to accelerate when needed. In city driving, the hesitation and gear slamming create dangerous situations when crossing intersections or pulling into traffic. Given the number of owners reporting similar problems, I believe this is a systemic defect that requires immediate investigation and action. Ford needs to address this transmission failure before it leads to crashes, injuries, or fatalities.

The issue involves the rear backup camera system on my 2013 Ford F-150. The camera functions intermittently — sometimes it goes completely black, other times it freezes and does not change image, and occasionally displays a message that says "Camera Unavailable." This happens unpredictably and may change mid-use, even while the vehicle is actively reversing.e component that has failed is the rear-view backup camera system, which appears to be a software-related malfunction (as similar issues have been recalled in newer Ford models). The vehicle and system are available for inspection upon request. This failure presents a significant safety hazard. Because the camera may stop working mid-reverse, it can result in an inability to see behind the vehicle, potentially causing injury to pedestrians (especially children or people in blind spots), damage to property, or accidents in tight spaces. The inconsistent nature of the issue makes it particularly dangerous, as a driver may unknowingly rely on a malfunctioning system.Yes, I contacted the local Ford dealership to report the issue. They acknowledged the possibility of a software or system issue but stated I would need to pay $250 for a diagnostic, which would not go toward the cost of any repair. Due to the high diagnostic fee and the fact that this may be a systemic issue, I have not proceeded further yet. There were no prior warning lamps or alerts before the issue started. The only messages displayed occur at the moment of failure and include "Camera Unavailable" or a blank screen with no visual feed. These symptoms began in April 2025 and have continued sporadically since then.I am submitting this complaint because this is a serious safety concern, and I believe there may be a broader software issue affecting earlier Ford models, similar to those recalled in newer vehicles. As the driver, I should not bear responsibility for a system that is inherently defective and critical to safe vehicle operation.

Loss of power to dashboard and all accessories while driving. The engine and transmission continued to operate until the vehicle could be parked in a safe location, and the vehicle could not be started again. The issue was reproduced by a dealership and repaired by changing a faulty APIM module. No other inspections have been performed. After the repairs, the security alarm randomly engages and sounds the horn.

My truck has 140,000 miles and I have maintained it to the specs provided by Ford My vehicle began to unexpectedly overheat when I was in 6th gear cruising at a low RPM. I had the coolant fluid tested for exhaust gasses. Exhaust gasses were detected and it was determined I had a blown head gasket. After taking to mechanics, other owners all over the internet, and Ford dealership employees at the dealership I purchased ny truck from. Everyone said the same thing. The 2.7L EcoBoost motor is prone to blowing a head gasket. My own father who has the same truck, just a younger older than mine decided to just replace the whole motor because he too blew a head gasket. This head gasket issue is pervasive and I would not be surprised if over 20% of this generation of motor has the same problem. I

The Windshield Wipers are malfunctioning, and the windshield washer motor doesn't work. you cannot adjust the speed of the Windshield Wipers. My safety concern is that the Windshield Wipers can come on at anytime and can shut off in any position on the Windshield which limits my visibility. It has been diagnosed by Joe Machens Capital City Ford Company, Invoice # [XXX] Phone# 573-634-4444 Service Direct# 573-994-2909. It is currently not under a recall, I feel the 2020 F-150 Ford Trucks should be included in this Windshield Wiper Malfunction. { UNKNOWN } Warnings or Messages? I was driving on the highway at 55 mph and my truck downshifted to fist gear and the speedometer went to zero with the wrench light coming on. The system that malfunctioned was the molded lead frame for the transmission that was a customer satisfaction program with Ford that I was not notified about. My safety was at risk because I was traveling at a high rate of speed before my truck downshifted into first gear. My problem has been confirmed by my local ford dealer and repaired at my own cost. The vehicle has been inspected by my local Ford dealer. No other symptoms prior to the failure.
