While driving 70 mph on the highway my truck suddenly downshifted into first gear causing the truck to go into a skid. The skid was recovered so nobody was injured but if it were a wet day or pulling a trailer, I doubt it could have been saved. The speedometer quit working and a wrench showed on the dash. Upon restarting the truck both of those issues were resolved but the truck continued to downshift into first gear at highway speeds. I called my local ford dealership, and they said there were no active recalls but that the PCM had already been reprogrammed. If the PCM had been reprogrammed, then this issue should not have happened unless there needs to be another update performed. They alerted me that there was a customer satisfaction program for the molded leadframe in the transmission that would cause this issue, but this is not a satisfaction issue it is a safety issue. If they replace the leadframe but there is never any change made to the way the transmission functions then when it eventually goes bad again the issue could come back, once again posing a major safety risk.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera failed to display an image, comprising the back over prevention system. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the rearview camera. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V572000 (Back Over Prevention), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

Transmission started failing below 50.000 miles . Truck was out of warranty but a transmission failing at that low of mileage is unheard of. transmission was clunky, unresponsive at times when just starting to drive up an incline. severe downshifting and upshifting at various speeds including highway speeds. Hard clunking sounds, rattling chain type sounds. Truck was unreliable and dangerous to drive. Finally, I had to bring it to the dealer where I bought it. Price for repair was astronomical ,close to $10,000 . Complained to Ford corporate and they were able to bring the price down a bit to $6800 with tax. The Transmission in question is model 10R80 with a long history of failures and repairs. Considering all the complaints on this model Transmission there ought to be a recall on it. This is a safety issue for all occupants of vehicles as well as other people and vehicles on the road.

I am writing to express my concern regarding a recurring issue with the backup camera on my 2017 Ford F-150 Larit. Although my vehicle is not currently included in any official recall, it is experiencing the same symptoms reported in recalled models—reporting distorted images, blue screens or total failure that compromise visibility and safety. This issue has been increasingly problematic, especially given the importance of a functioning backup camera for safe maneuvering and compliance, my truck is experiencing the same backup camera defect and should be included in this recall. On November 4th, I spoke with representatives from Ford Customer Service and Ford Consumer Relations to inquire whether the repairs might be covered under Ford’s goodwill policy. Unfortunately, I was informed that they would not cover the cost. Despite this response, I respectfully request that Ford reconsider covering the cost of diagnosis and repair under a goodwill policy. I am a loyal Ford customer and have maintained my vehicle responsibly. I would appreciate the opportunity to resolve this issue without undue financial burden, especially given its safety implications. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response and hope we can work together to ensure my vehicle remains safe and reliable.

The rear camera view displays the warning "the camera is not available" on the screen. A blurry, distorted flickering image is displayed on the screen. This is the same thing I see with my 2016 Ford Fusion, whose camera has been recalled. I'm not sure if this is an intermittent issue or not, but yesterday it was a persistent issue.

Transmission has been clunking/shifting hard and occasionally slipping out of gear. Recently it slipped out of gear while turning through a busy intersection. My truck lost acceleration momentarily which could have caused the vehicle behind me to rear-end me or crossing traffic to hit me. Apparently there are WIDESPREAD issues with Ford's 10R80 transmission. I took my truck in to be inspected and was told I needed a new transmission with upgraded parts due to excessive metal in the transmission fluid. My truck is only 7 years old with 71,000 miles on it. Ford knows their transmission is a problem and hasn't issued a recall. And they did not offer to help cover the cost of the new transmission which totaled $9,645.19.

Vehicle: 2013 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Cab Component: Rear Defroster / Rear Window Assembly Summary of Issue: Rear window glass shattered while driving when rear defroster was in use. Detail of Incident: On November 2, 2025, at approximately 5:00 AM, I was driving my 2013 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Cab at approximately 65 mph on the highway near Mogadore, Ohio. The vehicle had been operating for around 45 minutes without issue. The outside temperature was about 43°F. I had the rear window defroster and side mirror defrosters activated. Without any impact, warning lights, prior cracks, or outside interference, the rear glass pane directly behind the driver’s seat shattered suddenly and completely while I was driving. There were no vehicles near me, and I inspected the glass immediately afterward and found no evidence of anything striking the vehicle. The failure occurred instantaneously and with a loud sound, which created a risk of driver distraction and could have resulted in loss of control or injury from breaking glass. After researching, I found that this issue is widely reported by other owners of Ford F-150 models online, particularly involving the rear defroster causing excessive localized heating and thermal stress, which leads to spontaneous glass failure. Many owners report similar conditions: cold ambient temperature + rear defroster activated. The glass was replaced at my own expense, approximately $800. Receipts and photographs are available upon request. The issue was not covered by recall, warranty, or insurance. The problem has not been addressed by Ford despite multiple consumer reports. Safety Concern: This defect presents a serious safety hazard because the sudden shattering is loud, distracting, and may send glass fragments into the cabin. It could easily lead to loss of vehicle control or injury to occupants. The failure occurred under normal and intended use of the rear defroster system. Request: I am submitting this report to request that NHTS

Transmission will not shift into gear. No recall on this and dealers option is for service and repair. Transmission was serviced and problem shifting still continues. I have received alerts from Ford Pass App indicating Powertrain Malfunction/ Reduced Power — What Is Happening? The transmission control module has detected a concern when trying to shift to 7th gear. A failsafe logic disables 7th gear for the remainder of this key cycle. What Should I Do? Have your vehicle checked by an authorized dealer as soon as possible. This loss of power is a huge safety issue as when I accelerate into traffic the lag in shifting causes the truck to not get up to speed and you’re basically a sitting duck. Transmission was serviced and this did not resolve the issues. Replacement is now scheduled and will cost a minimum of $9000.00. This is a KNOWN issue with the 10-speed transmissions and should be recalled for repair &/or replacement by FORD. This truck has only 116,000 miles!!

REAR CAMERA not operating for last 1+ years. Ford dealer on 6/17/2025 diagnosed -- Recommended replacing REAR CAMERA ($730 for camera replacement on top of $221 already paid to diagnose). Initially REAR CAMERA operated intermittently, then occasionally, then for last 1+ year totally inoperable. Why not covered under massive Ford REAR CAMERA failure recall?

Ford F150 2.7L Ecoboost was running fine. Went to dealer for PCM recall and 3 days later check engine light came on. Went back to the dealer and they say I have a PO430 code now and that I need a catalytic converter at the tune of $3000. Of course I am 8000 miles over the factory warranty of 80000 miles and the extended warranty I bought does not cover it. Seems not right. Is the any help with this issue? Shouldn't Ford be responsible?

I have a 2018 Ford F-150 with a 3.5L Ecoboost engine. In October 2021, I received a Customer Satisfaction Program 21B10, 21N03, and 21N08 notice of a software upgrade to reduce the engine cam phasor rattle on engine start up. This was a limited time repair notice. Unfortunately, I thought it was a recall notice and did not act on this upgrade until a few weeks after it had expired on July 31, 2022. When I called the local dealer a few weeks after this date, they stated they would not perform the upgrade free and instead would charge me. I also had a mechanic state that this issue was not required and recommended I not pay for this upgrade. Even if I had performed the upgrade, it doesn't sound like it would have necessarily fixed the cam phasor issue because thousands on Ford customers have complained. Over the years, the engine "rattle" noise has gotten worse, the engine has been harder to start, and the engine surges at highway speeds which is a "safety concern" since I no longer feel safe driving the truck because it feels like it will "stall" at any moment. When I took the truck into the dealer on September 3, 2025, they stated there was not warranty recall for the cam phasor issue even though this was documented by Ford Motor in the October 2021 Customer Satisfaction Program stated above. They told me it would cost ~ $5,600 to fix the issue. I do not understand how there is not a recall on this since Ford Motor knew they had a defective cam phasor design in their 3.5L Ecoboost engines. I am sure there are quite a few complaints posted with NHTSA. Any help you can provide with this issue would be greatly appreciated by me and all the Ford owners. Thank you.

My rear view camera shows either a static rainbow screen while vehicle is in reverse. Or it shows a frozen faint image of what's behind my vehicle from the last time it was in reverse.

I became aware of a Ford F 150 Rear Camera recall. I found that out in 2025 but with research looks like there was also one in 2021. I did not receive the recall and contacted Ford. They do not show that either. I was contacting them because I had 2 accidents in 2024 that I believe were caused by the failure o the rear camera alert. I also have contacted my car insurance company regarding my claim. Ford in not communicating with me and my insurance company suggested I contact you. In Aug of 2024 on a Saturday I was having work done on my house so prked my 2008 Audi across from my driveway. Later in the day when I needed to drive my F150 I backed out of my garage and hit the Audi. No alerts came on with the camera. The next day I went to church and pulled in to a spot then backed up wo straigten out. I hit a car that was driving past my spot. Again the alerts never went on. I believe both of these are related to the failure of my rear camera. I am shocked that my truck is not on the reall list as I believe the rear camera needs to me replaced. I am also looking for process to fill a claim against ford for my accidents. Any informaton or thoughts would be appreciated. [XXX] and [XXX] email [XXX] [XXX] . -Auto stop/start system failed and is available for inspection. I was driving down the road and braked for a vehicle about to pull in front of me, when I let off the brake and pushed the gas I noticed the vehicle had shut off there was an error message on the information center, Error message: "Auto startstop shift to P, then restart engine" -I could've been in an accident due to immobilized vehicle -Vehicle taken to dealer. Was told the failure was unlikely to be duplicated. Was told to unplug(deactivate) auto stop/start system to hopefully avoid recurrence. -No -No messages or symptoms prior to failure.

- #11697240November 3, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
On November 2nd, 2025 at approximately 6pm, in Houston, Texas, my 2025 Ford F‑150 with Ford BlueCruise engaged in Hands‑Free mode was traveling with traffic at about 70 mph on a major thoroughfare. Without driver input, the system rapidly reduced speed to about 50 mph after it appeared to misinterpret an unknown speed‑limit change. This sudden, uncommanded deceleration created a hazardous speed differential with surrounding traffic. I swiftly took over manual control to maintain traffic flow and prevent a potential rear‑end collision. No crash or injury occurred, but the behavior constitutes phantom braking and false speed‑limit recognition in an Advanced Driver Assistance System feature.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed in traffic, the vehicle unexpectedly stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle did not need to be restarted. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V455000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer confirmed that parts were unavailable for the recall repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000. The VIN was not available.

On Acceleration from a stop at approx. 35 miles per hour the rear wheels locked up causing the vehicle to come to an abrupt screeching stop. Almost rear ended by other vehicles causing great concern for safety. According to Ford the codes that kicked off are transmission shift solenoids. This is the second time this happened, fist time was backing out of a driveway, no codes and could not detect. I have fear this could happen at higher speeds and cause great harm.
