Odometer Fraud. The contact's husband purchased a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while researching the VIN online a day later, the contact discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The contact discovered that an auction had previously sold the vehicle to the seller. The vehicle was a private sale. The contact contacted the auction, and it was confirmed that the vehicle was sold to the private seller at 480,000, but at the time of purchase, the mileage was 114,000. Transmission 10R80 2 times now my transmission has slipped while trying to accelerate from a stop entering the flow of traffic. Both times it has happened after the transmission has warmed up to operating temperature. No it has not been confirmed or inspected by a dealer or independent service center. There has been no warning lights or messages. The transmission irregularly slips shifting to 3rd gear shortly after a cold start up before the transmission has fully warmed up.

Driving on a freeway at 70mph all the sudden engine reved up and warning lite with wrench 🔧 to see owners manual came on, transmission down shifted and truck felt like it has loss of power. While driving reduced acceleration removed foot of gass pedal, truck slowed down to 40mph warning lite disappear and was driving normally. Few months later the same warning lite came on and downshift happened again at 35mph, good thing it was not on busy street.

Was driving at 50mph on hiway, all the sudden truck has loss of power and engine shut off, coasted down to stop, put truck in par, stared the car and drove another 5 miles and same thing happened again. No warning lite, no error messages was present when shut off happened nor during OBS scan at later time was. When second shut off happened there was a shift down happened. Not sure if the transmission speed sensor has something to do with engine shut off.

Driving at normal rate of speed around a right hand turn. Truck spontaneously downshifted in the turn causing tires to spin. Back end of truck slid sideways as the road was wet at the time. Luckily there was a gap between oncoming traffic or there would have been an accident. After regaining control of the vehicle, a wrench icon appears on the dashboard, then the airbag icon lights up. My speedometer/ odometer/ fuel economy gauges are not working. I pulled off the road for safety. Change plans to turn around and go back home versus continue on my 45 minute drive to my appointment. This happened only 3 miles from my home. My truck had little power on acceleration when going back home. After hours of searching online it appears it could be the Molded Leadframe. It also appears there WAS a consumer program from Ford to fix this issue, however, I was told by Ford that they do not notify customers that are affected by this and that the program has expired. This is definitely a safety issue. Thankfully it was me driving and not my [XXX] [XXX] daughter with her drivers permit! My 2016 F150 with a 6R80 transmission will randomly fail to go into gear resulting in my vehicle going into neutral and rolling. It will randomly go into neutral while driving down the road which makes my car roll forward unexpectedly, it will randomly when you shift into park it will go into neutral and roll, it will also downshift randomly at random speeds, it has caused me on more than one occasion to almost roll into another vehicle due to it unexpectedly going out of gear without notice almost causing an accident. I believe it to be the lead frame in the transmission. It has been replaced twice with oem ford parts and has failed once within a week and the second time failing the next day, all work done at a licensed service shop, inspected and has failed completely regardless of parts being replaced,

First incident my [XXX] daughter was driving my truck on the highway going 70mph, the truck went from 10th gear dropped all the down to first almost causing her to wreck the truck before getting to the side of the road, it has a lifetime warranty so took the truck to Jones Ford in Wickenburg Arizona, after several conversations with the warranty company wanting to deny the claim finally got the transmission warranty and was told they replaced the transmission, this truck still was not driving properly not shifting gears , dropping gears at high rate of speed, back to the dealership, they did some computer updates, picked the truck up drove still not right, decided to take it to a different deal shop Camelback Ford in Phoenix Arizona, they replace transmission again, this is at least 4-5 transmissions in this truck, The truck still is not driving properly it’s a hazard on the road could cause a wreck at anytime because the shifting is not right and unsafe, I have called the warranty company multiple times and Ford to take /buy this truck back, it has spent more time at the dealership in the last year then at my home, I continue to make my truck payments and have no truck, I will not let my wife or daughter drive this truck because of the safety and what could happen if they are on the highway doing high speeds and the transmission once again drops suddenly from 10th gear to first, it does not even shift properly from 3rd to 4th gear, it needs to be taken back by Ford Motor Company and not allowed to be on the road anymore, with the continuous attempts by dealerships to fix this and nothing has worked, I cannot continue to put myself my family and others on the road in danger because of the unknown outcome when driving this vehicle on the road, I have made many attempts between the warranty company , Ford and dealerships to help get this vehicle fixed or off the road and take it back with no luck, look up the history by the VIN to verify my complaints INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION AC

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH with cruise control engaged, the vehicle experienced transmission failure. The contact stated that the engine seized, and the vehicle abruptly stopped. The “Service Transmission Soon” message was displayed on the instrument cluster. The vehicle was turned off and restarted, and the message was cleared. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE25002 (Power Train). The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, who confirmed that the VIN was not under recall and there was no recall related to the failure. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with transmission valve body failure. The transmission valve body was replaced. The manufacturer was contacted but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

While operating on my daily commute at approximately 40-50 mph, the vehicle suddenly downshifted from 5th gear to 3rd, with no throttle input change. Following a commanded full stop of the vehicle, upon accelerating, the vehicle seemed to be slipping into each gear. A short duration later, the vehicle prompted me with an orange wrench symbol on the instrument panel and the phrase "see manual." The vehicle would then only shift down as low as 3rd gear and appeared to be in a limp mode with no 1st or 2nd gear until shut off and restarted. I then took it to my local Ford dealer and had it diagnosed as a "P0722, pinpoint OSS sensor failure." It was repaired with a new lead frame on December 10th, 2025.

While cruising on the highway at 55 to 60mph, the transmission will suddenly and without warning rapidly downshift resulting in unstable and dangerous conditions. This has occurred multiple times on icy or frosty roads and the vehicle becomes difficult to control. My safety and that of oncoming traffic was compromised. A "wrench" light comes on in the dash following the event. Once the vehicle is power cycled, the wrench disappears.
