My vehicle is in perfect shape with no body damage and fewer than 28,000 miles. Today I was at a very busy intersection and when the car attempted to restart , it suddenly decided that my hood was open and it would not restart. It left me stranded. I ended up thinking quickly and pulling the hood latch exiting my vehicle and pushing the hood down. The vehicle it has the feature that stops the engine when I stop at a stop light. I do not think that the hood was open. I had it in for service over a month ago, that would have been the last time that anyone opened the hood. I was stranded, had to exit my vehicle in a very high traffic area. Luckily, the car restarted when I tried again. This default position is very dangerous. I turned off the feature that shuts off the engine at a stop. I understand a warning that the hood is open, but I do not understand stopping the vehicle from starting and placing the driver in a very dangerous position

On [XXX], I was driving the vehicle on a busy highway with a posted speed limit of 70mph. While operating the vehicle at ~70mph, the front display showed a message that the vehicle was going to stop and to pull off safely. Unknown at what point the vehicle will stop, in a panic, I pulled off on the highway and immediately called road assistance for a tow. After calling the dealership, they told me to start the vehicle again, which I did and it showed the check engine light illuminated on the dash. He advised that the vehicle should be able to be driven to the dealership rather than needing a tow, so I cancelled the roadside assistance. On May 12, 2023, the dealership informed me that they did not find anything wrong and said I could pick the vehicle back up since they couldn't replicate the issue. On my drive home, the exact same issue happened and in a panic I pulled off on the same highway with posted speeds of 70mph. The car was at the dealership from May 12 2023 - June 26 2023. The dealership replaced the valve body and transmission. On [XXX], while driving with two young children [XXX] and [XXX] ) on the same highway with posted speeds of 70mph, I received the same dash message. The highway was very busy that day and the concern was escalated with my young children in the vehicle. I was able to pull off. I turned off my vehicle, turned it back on, which put it in limp mode so I could putter to a safer spot than the middle of an off-ramp. I turned it off once more and restarted it, and it allowed me to drive with the check engine light. The next day (XXX), I took it to the dealership and they just confirmed today (7/23/24) it once again needs a new transmission. So I have been put in an extremely unsafe condition 3 times in just over a year with no new resolution beyond just trying to replace the transmission once again. Vehicle stopped running on the interstate [XXX] [XXX]. Barely ran with electric motor about 7 miles an hour. Took it to Dick Hanna Chrysler July 9, 2020 in Vancouver Washington and they did a software update recall 03A? On [XXX] The car stopped running again on the interstate. Took it to the same dealer and now they tell me the power inverter module Needs to be replaced. The part is not available. It is dangerous for a vehicle to stop running, especially on a high speed interstate. No timeframe as to when problem will be solved. Car still at the dealer as of today, July 23 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I purchased my vehicle from AutoNation Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Spring - 21027 I-45, Spring, TX 77388 on or about April 15, 2021. I began having trouble with the electric/gas drivetrain around January 30 of 2023. The vehicle lost all power, as well as throttle and proper braking response. I brought my vehicle back to Helfman Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM FIAT at 7720 Katy Fwy A, Houston, TX 77024 for repairs on February 6, 2023. The repairs performed seemed to have worked until [XXX]. The most recent event on [XXX] my Pacifica Hybrid lost all power on the highway. While attempting to pull the vehicle off of the highway it abruptly entered its parking gear at 5mph, almost causing a rear end collision from the semi tractor trailer following behind us. I am having a problem with my under-warranty (32,000 miles) 2021 Chrysler Pacifica which the service department at my dealership appears unable to help. I was driving on an interstate in stop-and-go traffic for a couple of hours. It was a very hot day, temperatures well above 90 degrees. Six times over 15 minutes the following occurred: While coasting/braking, so at low RPM the engine turned itself off I braked to stop the vehicle The vehicle put itself into Park A message on the dash said to place my foot on the brake pedal and press the button to start the engine I did so, and the engine cranked for an unusually long time, becoming longer each of the 6 times, before eventually starting By the last time we were doubtful it would start at all After the 6th time I cut my long-distance trip short, turned around, and came home in normal (not stop-and-go) highway traffic conditions, with no more engine failure. The check engine light did not turn on, and no service codes were generated which could have been related to these power failures My local dealer's service department (Pohanka in Salisbury, MD) tested the alternator, starter, and battery and found nothing wrong. They did charge the battery up a bit, saying it took only 20 minutes. They have been unable to re-create the problem, which is not surprising, due to the unique conditions under which it happened. They say there is nothing they can do about my problem under warranty because there is no code and they can't reproduce the problem, so they want to give me back a vehicle that we know behaved unsafely six times under dangerous conditions. Engines failing without warning on interstates are likely to result in being rear-ended. I see online that the hybrid model of the same model year has a recall for exactly this same issue, so it is not a new issue for Chrysler, although maybe new-ish for my non-hybrid model of the same vehicle.

Van has 70K miles. After a long road trip. last stop noticed a gas smell from the front of van. When opening the hood noticed gas had been leaking over top of the motor by spraying fuel. Moving the fuel line running over the top of the motor, showed it was rubbing against top of the coil pack on engine. The rubbing over time caused a small cut in the fuel line allowing for fuel leak. The fuel line seam to be malformed or is unsported causing the rubbing.

After having the car serviced to fix the recall, my car stopped running while on the freeway at 60mph. This is now the 3rd time in less than 10 days that this has happened. I had the transmission replaced previously to fix this issue but it has returned.

Driving the vehicle on the interstate, and the vehicle suddenly lost power and had a warning that said "Stop Safely, Vehicle will shut off soon". However, we were in a construction zone and unable to stop on the interstate causing many vehicles to nearly crash into us. I understand we had previously had a recall worked that simply added this warning, but did not fix the issue. This warning is not a safe solution. It is still very dangerous for your vehicle to suddenly drop to 15mph at highway speeds. We are in the process of having the dealer confirm the issue.

It was a rental car, driving on freeway , warning light will come up , saying engine will shut off. The Van had no power, and I had to pull over. I turned off the car for 2-5 minutes and restart. Then the car will accelerate again. I had to drive from LA to Las Vegas. It started doing that after Loma Linda , CA [XXX] , on [XXX]). It took me 7 hours to get to Las Vegas. Because of the constant shut off warning. I had no choice but to do this because SixT rental car couldn't get another car to me for 5-6 hours wait. While driving from Texas to Wisconsin our van powered down twice while at freeway speeds in traffic. We had 6 people in the van and were lucky to safely reach the should each time it happened. Transmission was replaced 2 years ago to correct this issue and it returned. Van was recently at dealership in Texas for inspection and work and found no reason to fix recall issues that are now being stated to have needed to be fixed.

Shortly into my trip home from work, I entered onto the interstate and accelerated up to speed. Within a minute the vehicle seemed to slow down and I had no power using the accelerator Pedal. The vehicle continued to slow and the gas engine failed to turn on.(this is a PHEV hybrid model). Eventually the vehicle lost all power and I was able to park it along the side of the interstate. The vehicle was still on, AC and electoral systems worked. After about 5 minutes, gas engine spontaneously started back up. I was able to gain speed start bad down the road. Approximately 3 min later, gas engine shuts down and same process occurred. This cycle took place about 6 times before vehicle would not start up anymore and ultimately had to be towed. After a week, dealership is not sure what’s wrong as the transmission has been replaced which did not fix the problem. Dealership is now planning to replace the PIM module although there is an over 45day wait and they are unsure if that will fix the problem.

While driving the vehicle, received a message to stop safely vehicle will shut off soon. The car stops responding to the gas pedal and I had to try to quickly find a safe place to park the vehicle. I am lucky that I was not on a major highway at the time as I had three young children in the vehicle. Once stopped I was unable to turn off the van. The vehicle start/stop button was not responding and it took a long time before I was able to turn off the vehicle to try to restart it. The message remained and the car had to be towed to a dealership. It is now with the dealership while they determine the cause of the shut down. This is a serious issue to occur on a relatively new vehicle.

The contact owns a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V436000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the back-over prevention camera displayed still images, with blackouts, or was inoperable. The failure had become more persistent and then became a constant failure. The contact had to restart the vehicle to regain functionality or correct the malfunction. While turning off and restarting the vehicle, the radio was randomly activated without driver input. The contact believed that the failure had caused additional failures with other control panel functions such as the radio, heating, and the A/C system failing to activate as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Traveling down [XXX] in Escondido at approximately 73mph. In the fast lane and moving left into the car pool lane the vehicle lost all motive power and the error "Service Charging System" came up on the dash then flashing back to "SHIFT TO P TO START". We were able to make it to a very small emergency lane on the left side of the interstate. Had to power vehicle off and restart twice before be regained motive power. There was a very good chance that we would have been stranded in the middle of the interstate with wife and 2 kids in the care on an 85 degree day. We were able to make it off freeway with "Check engine light showing" but no other errors on the dash. We were able to drive home 7 miles and will tow the Pacifica to the dealer tomorrow. This is the second time this has happened and could have had a horrible outcome. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was driving my vehicle in a local road at speed about 20MPH and suddenly got a warning saying "Stop safely, Vehicle will shut off soon". Then the gas pedal stopped working. It was on the middle of the road. I switched off my car and started it again a couple of times and that warning was gone but the engine light was on. I was able to drive the vehicle and so the next day I went to the dealer to find the issue. After 4 days the dealer said they couldn't replicate the issue and also the engine light was not on anymore and so they returned my vehicle without doing anything. After a week I was driving on a freeway with all my family members (6 of us), 75 MPH the same thing happened again. I immediately pulled over to the shoulder, since the gas pedal was not working. I switched off the car and switched on then I drove the vehicle. This happened at least 6 to 8 times on my 300-mile drive. It was really scary that the vehicle got a weird warning and the gas pedal stopped working in the middle of the road. At one place there was no shoulder, so I had to stop on the road itself. After coming back, I dropped my vehicle with the dealer to find the issue. It's been 2 weeks but they are saying they couldn't replicate the issue. I bought this as a brand-new vehicle on April 2023, and it's just 14 months old.

- #11593627June 11, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The forward collision alarm was triggered when there was no collision. Additionally the ABS system and cruise control went offline. This occurred numerous times during winter while at a full stop as well as when driving between 45-55mph. Once triggered the collision alarm remained on for hours to days at a time. During that time cruise control was not able to be used and ABS was offline. Additionally the assisted parking was not available. ABS and stability control is important for safe driving and braking in icy/slippery situations putting both my own, my passengers, and other drivers at risk. The vehicle was inspected 4 times by the Bath NY Chrysler dealership. A sensor was replaced the first time but this did not correct the issue. The 2nd time another component was replaced, but the technician stated the issue was still present and I would need to bring it back in for further testing. The 3rd and 4th time the dealership was not able to recreate the issue and did not perform any repairs. The issue has recurred, but the dealership was not able to get the car in at that time. This vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance etc. There was no prior warning to the issue. When it occurs the warning lamps that come on are: BRAKE, Front Collision, Front Collision OFF, ABS, Seatbelt, and the Traction Control. I have a photo of the dash from one of these incidents.
