The vehicle began making a loud fan noise in the engine after the summer began (06/2025) and the temperature gauge was elevated but not by a concerning amount. After an oil change (06/21/25) we were told that it was normal because of the weather. A week after the check engine light was coming on intermediately (began 06/28/2025) depending on the day and the temperature outside (we are currently in the middle of a heat wave). The vehicle was taken to the dealership (07/02/2025) where they determined that the coolant flow was too low and found that the engine coolant pump is faulty and needs to be replaced. f the coolant is low in a Chevy Silverado and the engine overheats, it can lead to significant and potentially expensive engine such as a blown head gasket, cracked engine block, or even a complete engine failure or fire.

Bought my truck with 29,000 miles on it. Was making a noise in rear tire. Took it in and it was the break calilper. Dealership wanted $1500 to replace it a week after I bought it. Stated that it was not covered. After a week of arguing, they did not charge me for it. Around 40,000 miles, every once in a while, it would feel like I was being rear ended when I came to a stop. It was not often, but around 55,000 miles, was more frequent. I took it to the dealershp at 62,000 miles and they said that it was a torque converter and would not be covered. Fixed it at a shop $2700. Lifter and Cam in the UP of michigan $5000. Oil lines at 110,000 $700. Torque converter again at 130000, and now lifter and camshaft again at 145,000 miles. I feel that GM should back their product. I had a 95 Chevy Silverado that I sold with 360,000 miles and never had any issues except fot transmission at 250,000 which is expected. I have all receipts showing proof

We’ve been stranded in traffic, unable to accelerate, and fearful for our safety. Despite repair after repair, the problem continues. At this point, I do not believe this truck can be fixed, and I am unwilling to keep driving it—or trade it in knowing another family could end up in the same dangerous situation. At low speeds and turning right or left the steering wheel locks up if wheel is turned quickly and engine quits momentarily, power is lost to instruments and radio, etc. or in one case the vehicle has shut off completely. I saw that there was a recall for this on earlier models but not for my VIN (2016 Silverado 1500)

We took our vehicle to Weber Chevrolet in Granite City, Il on June 26 for an oil change. My husband and I purchased the vehicle on [XXX] from this dealership. We asked if they could put a heavier oil in the vehicle due to this being as one of the remedial fixes for the recall. The service department manager informed us that they would not be able to do this due to it voiding our warranty. They could not give a general answer as to when they will address the recall. My husband and I have safety concerns about taking this vehicle cross country for a family vacation at the end of July. We have decided to trade the vehicle in for a different model due to the uncertainty of the recall. Appallingly, no dealership, including the Chevy dealership we bought it from , is willing to take our 9 month old truck as a trade. We were informed by three separate dealerships that the car is basically worthless and they are not willing to have it sit on their lots depreciating until the recall is complete. It is completely unacceptable that we, as consumers, are stuck with a vehicle that has a potential safety risk. The car has already depreciated by $10,000 according to Kelly Blue Book. We have filed a complaint with the BBB, Illinois States Attorney Office, and with General Motors. General Motors informed me on July 2 that they will not address the recall until an issue occurs. If an issue occurs then they will address it at that time. Furthermore , they are not willing to buy the vehicle back, attempt to see if the engine is fine, nor willing to allow us to trade for another GMC vehicle. We are at a loss as far as our safety, loss of investment, and lack of any help from General Motors. I am adding screen shots of my communication with the general manager from Weber Chevrolet, jimmy Mckechan. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

We were towing our 2025 Brinkley Z3100 Fifth Wheel and had a complete loss of trailer brakes with no warning or notification during a trip to and from the tennessee mountains from Florida. Had we not noticed the poor stopping ability it would have been an issue on any downhill grades as the trailer is in excess of 14,000 lbs. We stopped disconnected and reconnected the 7 pin connector and brakes were restored. This happened 4 times. We have made an appointment with the service department at Davis Chevrolet in Gainesville Florida however the service writer (Paul) has already indicated that he feels it is a trailer problem with the interaction of the trailer. Internet searches show this is a common problem with the GM Products and a Service Bullitin has been issued for years 2023-2024. Ours is a 2025 with the identical issues. I think there could be many many more of these out there and hope the issue can be resolved. I can reproduce the problem and it meets the full description of the Service bullitin 6379278.

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the failure of the 6.2L V8 engine in my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (VIN: [XXX] ), which is currently under recall (NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000). On Thursday, [XXX], while traveling for work approximately 30 minutes from my home, the engine suddenly failed without warning—just two days after I received the recall notice from GM, which acknowledged the defect but stated there was no current fix available. Fortunately, I was able to safely pull over and was within sight of Hometown Motors (Chevrolet dealership in Fruitland, ID), but still had to pay $100 out-of-pocket to have the truck towed less than 1/4 mile. The dealership later confirmed the engine had failed and ordered a replacement, with an estimated repair time of three weeks. I use this truck daily for my small business, where I co-own and operate a window covering company. The truck is a critical part of my business, used to transport tools, ladders, and product samples. GM and the dealership delayed the rental approval process by two full days, and once finally approved, I was informed by Enterprise that it would be another three days before a vehicle would be available—and it would not be comparable to the Silverado I purchased for over $50,000. As of today, I still do not have a comparable rental vehicle, and I’ve been given multiple excuses as to why one can’t be provided. I cannot operate my business using a small sedan. This engine failure has caused direct financial loss, business disruption, and a complete loss of reliable transportation for work. GM’s failure to provide a timely solution to a known defect is unacceptable, and I urge the NHTSA to investigate the handling of this recall and the lack of appropriate remedies for owners affected—especially those like myself who rely on these vehicles for commercial use. My 2018 Chevrolet Silverado with a 6.2 engine suffered a Connecting Rod Bearing failure causing the engine to seize/lock up. The engine components are available for inspection. The engine seized/locked up and could have caused a crash. The vehicle is at my mechanics shop right now and will remain there until it is repaired. The vehicle has been inspected by my mechanic but no one else. The engine had developed a "tick" at idle and while driving. My mechanic found a bent pushrod in the engine and then found the engine suffered a camshaft lifter failure. He replaced all the pushrods, camshaft lifters, and the camshaft. It had been repaired and had been driven for a test drive. There were no warnings the engine was going to to fail. The engine just locked up without warning. The engine was removed from the pickup and was then disassembled and found to have had a connecting rod bearing failure on cylinder 7 and cylinder 8.

- #11670508July 1, 2025SERVICE BRAKES
I experienced issues with braking including shuddering brakes. I took the vehicle to a repair shop who looked into any active recalls and there were none, I had the electronic brake control module recall completed in 2019. The shop replaced the front brakes and resurfaced the back which did not fix the issue. They then replaced the vacuum pump which did fix the issue I was responsible for all costs. I recently noticed my vehicle is covered under special coverage N182202780 through 2027 which covers the cost of the vacuum pump replacement. Chevy is refusing to reimburse for the costs because the work was not done at their dealership despite not having a recall that States that. I would like the issue addressed theough a formal recall and reimbursement of repair costs as Chevy is obviously aware there is a safety issue related to braking due to failing components.

Problem 1: passenger side seatbelt does not retract. Problem 2: the transmission failed due to a bad torque converter. This is apparently a well known problem that General Motors has been ignoring. The cost to repair is approximately $6,500.00 which, for a senior citizen is really going to hurt my cost of living.

Driving on interstate when "Service ESC" and "Service ABS" warning came on in cluster, with flashing CEL light. Near total loss of power and loud noise from under hood. Exited the interstate immediately and turned off engine. Had towed to dealer for diagnosis. Dealer states failed lifter in right bank and possible camshaft replacement needed as well, to the tune of $4600-$10100 pre tax repair cost. 2019 Silverado RST with 84,000 miles purchased Certified Pre-Owned and CPO warranty expired April 2025.

I had my truck serviced for the airbag recall in 2021 at Clint Newell auto in Roseburg Oregon, they did not have a necessary part to complete the job at the moment and I had moved out of town by the time they got it in. I just today brought it in and they said they did the second half of the recall but the component was not communicating. I was informed they would charge me to investigate why. I am writing to complain and seek resources. I cant afford to have the airbag problem investigated especially since it is likely their fault/negligence. The airbag light remains on and it is still a danger to me, also they were super rude and disorganized. Please help

I have a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ. 5.3 Ecotrac 8 transmission with 89,000 miles. I bought it used and have had it 12 months, but only drove it 9 before it malfunctioned causing severe electrical & mechanical problems. I was driving the truck when the EPB, service engine, stabilitrac, ECBM warning lights came on, also driving over 43 miles an hour could cause a crash due brake failure This caused the emissions. transmission, & throttle to shut down Truck would not shift out of low gear. It would shift to park but did not recognize it was in park which kept the accessory on running down the battery, the tail gate would not open, and the information system shut down. I got sick and was in the hospital for 5 weeks, the truck was vandalized. The body repair shop took it to the chevrolet dealership in long beach to have it inspected. I did not tell them the vehicle had malfunctioned, throwing code U0101 and another code. I wanted the dealer to find the problem, the truck had not been driven since it was parked from the malfunction. All they came back with was I had a burnt cylinder and would be 9000 to fix due to maintenance, we maintained this truck changing the oil every 3000 miles with Castoroil synthetic oil, regularly checking and maintaining transmission, brake , all-fluids. Supposedly they ran a diagnostic, if they did they would have found these warnings and that main code U0101 would have showed up. When it happened Onstar ran the diagnostic and told me to take it immediately to a dealership. That dash should have lit up like a christmas tree that’s how many light were going off. The dealership never said a thing about these lights. Now i’ve read where Chevy had a problem with the EPB and only put them on this model from 2019 to 2022 because of this. I found on other sites recalls that included what happened to my truck, but not in your web sight. There was major design and manufacturing flaw with this model and year. I’ve read complaints on this.

Goodyear Wrangler Trail Runner AT LT275/65R20 126/123S I had been traveling at 55 mph when I started noticing a vibration in the steering wheel and front wheels. It started getting a little more noticeable, so I pulled over and checked out the front tires. I checked the lug nuts, looking for missing wheel balance weights, and checked the tires for any bulges. Everything seemed to be ok. Started driving again and the vibration was still there. As I was slowing down for a traffic light, the tire tread separated, and I pulled over. The tire remained inflated so I didn't hurt the rim. I changed the tire and after I get home the tire blew out.

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission was shifting hard. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving at 70 MPH. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was purchased for diagnostic testing, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact used a scanner and retrieved DTC: B3205-4B-BCM, and a message that the steering column circuit was locked. Additionally, the scanner displayed a notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V797000 (Power Train); which the contact related to the failure. The dealer informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall and referred the contact to a Chevrolet dealer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that assistance could not be provided because the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

- #11670034June 29, 2025FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
I was driving on the freeway and smelled gasoline in the cab. I thought nothing of it as I was near a wreck and thought it was from that. About 10 miles down the road I was stopped in traffic and noticed my miles until empty was slowly declining as I was stopped. When I moved forward there was a puddle under my truck. I pulled to the side of the road and fuel was draining from the back of my engine all over the exhaust. I immediately shut the truck off. I cannot believe the gas didn't ignite as those catalytic converters get well over 536°. The truck was towed to the closest Chevrolet dealer over 10 days ago and I have YET to hear anything from them. I bought the truck used from another Chevrolet dealer 3 weeks prior, and it has had the L87 recall.
