ENGINE OVERHEATING, LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, COOLANT LEAKING, CAR WAS REPEATEDLY TRYING TO START ON IT'S OWN WITHOUT PRESSING THE START BUTTON OR HAVING FOOT ON BREAK (I WAS OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE), SOUNDS LIKE IT STARTS TO CRANK OVER BUT WON'T START, DRAINED BATTERY COMPLETELY. Vehicle is leaking coolant I've had it fixed and continue to have issues with it. When I go to add coolant it sounds like it is boiling in the motor and car is becoming very hot and smokes from the motor. Was driving through town heard a hissing noise and somehow coolant had sprayed all over the hood and windshield of my car.

The "service airbag" alert comes up every time the vehicle is turned on. My mechanic told me that this may have been due to a faulty seat belt. This car has never been in a collision, is clean title, and otherwise is in good working conditions. The estimate for this repair was $950 parts and labor.

POWER TRAIN
Clutch pedal began sinking down to the floor with little to no resistance, car would have trouble shifting took it to the dealer, I don't know what they did but it fixed it temporarily. Went to see another car for purchase a few days after with it and on my way back clutch failed completely, clutch pedal sunken all the way to the floor with no possible way to shift I was stuck. Towed it to have it "fixed" sold it to carvana, don't buy one manual or auto

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OIL/LUBRICATION
I noticed oil drips on ground and was having to add oil. Took to dealership for diagnosis and it was found that my lower oil pan was Croated and leaking. Replaced under warranty but still should not happen on a 3 1/2 year old vehicle with 62300 miles on it that is well taken care of. I used 3 quarts in a matter of 3 weeks driving less that 500 miles. 1 quart was used just waiting for repair.

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:CLUTCHES/BANDS
Issue has been reported by other owners, code PIP5558C Around 60k miles, clutch pedal started sticking to the floor and not returning unless manually lifted. By 118k miles issue had worsened to the point that car was no longer driveable. Clutch master cylinder was damaged/degraded, as well as clutch slave. Brake system lifespan was likely shortened, and I luckily didn't have a complete brake failure as has happened with others.

The car overheated constantly and was taken to a mechanic everytime. Mechanic tried a few things and to no avail. Warped head replaced and it continued to do it. Replaced the entire motor and the second motor now wont even start after it overheated. We had many people look at it and no one could figure out what the problem was. Thermostat housing has been replaced 4 times, it is still over heating and wont allow ac to work. That keeps the fan running nonstop. As soon as its replaced it burns out in 1 day.

SEAT BELTS
Back seat belt came complete undone from the sewn portion of the lock. Very little pull force released the locked belt. Buckle stayed in tact/locked, but the sewn part seems to have been glued, and not sewn securely. Serious danger to backseat passengers.

The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated while driving 25-30 MPH, the vehicle felt imbalanced and was shuddering. Additionally, the engine emitted abnormal knocking sounds. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact then parked the vehicle a block away from his residence. The contact who is a certified independent mechanic, diagnosed that the fuel injectors had failed. The contact also diagnosed that the fuel injector had melted and fused into the number one cylinder, causing the engine to misfire. The contact replaced the fuel injectors, the spark plugs, the fuel line, the fuel harness, and the vehicle software were flushed. However, the failure reoccurred. Upon further investigation, the contact became aware that the engine inside the vehicle was not the appropriate engine as it was 1.5 liter and its specifications indicated that it was an engine specifically designed for a Chevrolet Malibu while the vehicle was a Chevrolet Cruze. However, the original owner of the vehicle, who was the contact's neighbor, had never replaced the engine. The contact then determined that the failure was associated to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V642000 (Electrical System, Fuel System, Gasoline, Engine). The contact notified the dealer where the vehicle was originally purchased and informed them that the engine installed was not the appropriate engine. The dealer disregarded the information and informed the contact that he would be responsible for the cost of the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 MPH, his brake warning light had illuminated. The contact stated that he attempted to depress the brake pedal however, the brakes failed to engage, causing him to use the parking brake to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that he was able to pull off the road into a parking lot to evaluate the vehicle. The contact stated that after exiting the vehicle, he saw brake fluid leaking from the driver’s side rear brake caliber. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed back and remained at the residence. The contact stated that he then contacted the dealer, and manufacturer who advised him that the vehicle would not be covered for the repair. The failure mileage was 51,200.

POWER TRAIN
I purchased a used as is 2014 Chevy Cruze with 141000 miles on April 4th 2022. I had been well pleased with the car up until the linkage for the automatic transmission became defective on May 5th 2022. It would not go into any gear. So I opened up the hood and immediately Identified the problem, someone had used zip ties to secure the linkage to the transmission linkage. I called my local auto parts store and they had the proper repair kit for it. I replaced all the missing parts with new ones. Now the vehicle will not go into any forward drive gear. It will however go into reverse. My research on you tube that other mechanics have posted lead me to believe that either the transmission is low on transmission fluid, or the fuse could be blown, or the TCM (Transmission Control Module) is defective. Several authorized dealerships have reported this issue to GM, however GM denies that the transmission they used for the 2008 through 2014 has had any issues, although several forums and dealerships have reported differently. MAN UP GM and fix your foul up!

With no warning my car started to overheat while traveling home from the Eden rest stop in NC two weeks ago. I have replaced my thermostat and radiator/overflow cap. I never had any warning to let me know that my car was starting to overheat. My check engine light never came on! And my car just shut off on me when leaving work this afternoon in the middle of 5 o’clock traffic on Eastchester Dr in High Point, NC. I noticed that I had no coolant and there was no sign of leaks anywhere!

Power flickering and multiple errors lit up on dashboard including loss of stability control. Radio kept flashing on and off. Would show back up when pressed brake or regular car in motion. -- Looked up online and appears to be known negative battery cable --- which doesn't show on NHTSA recalls or errors to look out for.

The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated while driving various speeds at night, the headlights failed to provide adequate illumination to drive safely. The contact stated that the failure was more evident on dimly lit streets. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the headlight bulbs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure was still evident with the side illumination. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.
