Fuel leak from rusted fuel lines. I am willing to allow the vehicle to be inspected as it hasn't been repaired. The fuel leak appeared to be in front of the drivers side rear wheel and it is near the exhaust which is very dangerous.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request: Noticed a gas smell in my garage for the past couple weeks and the car has been slow to start when sitting overnight. Was able to verify today a gas leak near the driver side rear wheel. Car would not start until I hit the gas pedal and got fuel to the engine, and the leak started again (was able to see drips on pavement) Car is available for inspection How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Leaking fuel, fire hazard, fumes Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center: No Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others: No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear: No lights or messages, but the gas smell in the garage has been going for a couple weeks.

I have noticed when car is parked in garage that there is a gas odor present in the garage. It appears the gas odor is the strongest around the driver side, rear wheel. I do not yet see any severe drips anywhere but it is enough to cause concern about parking the car in a closed up garage. especially in winter with a heater running... I have not yet brought it into a dealer to have it checked. This car is located in a midwest climate where salt is used on roads which would cause possible issues with corrosion.

- #11462858April 30, 2022SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
i own a 5-speed manual transmission which should roll freely while in neutral. after starting engine while on a slight incline in a parking lot, the vehicle would not roll in neutral, as if all brakes were being applied. i thought that by driving the vehicle on the road the brakes would free up, but they did not. i shut the engine off and on a few times but that did not make a difference. i could only move forward at 5-10 mph in first gear to get the vehicle home, which fortunately was just 5 blocks away. something smelled terrible like burning wires or brake pads. even after letting the vehicle sit in my driveway for a few hours it would not free up the brakes which were being applied. then i read a tip on an internet users forum: remove a fuse labeled "ABS2" and voila! it freed up the brakes! i can drive the vehicle normally but obviously without ABS capability. now my 19 yr old grandson, who turned the vehicle over to me because of this issue, states this happened to him on two different occasions *while driving on the road!* imagine having your brakes applied while at full speed: THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHICH COULD RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH

The accelerator pedal constantly fails to activate immediately after turning it on. it used to happen on cold or rainy days. It now fails to activate all the time. Took it to an independent service center and they said it could be the wiring due to water getting in the car. My car did have a leak and it was fixed but many months after these issues started occurring. I get a check engine light with a service traction control, service esc, and code p2138 is shown.

- #11459346April 2, 2022AIR BAGS, POWER TRAIN, STEERING
I purchased a 2007 Chevy cobalt and was told by an independent shop that their computer was reading codes for the ignition switch and the air bag lights are on. On top of it the power steering feels like it goes in and out. I know there’s recalls on the 2007 Chevy cobalts for the exact reasoning. Faulty ignition switch and the airbags not deploying because of it. Along with like 4 other recalls GM announced. I just purchased the car not even two weeks ago so I was told to come on here and file a complaint to see if I can get the recall letter so the dealership can fix the car.

Fuel line leak occurred at approximately approx. 76,700 miles requiring immediate repair as gasoline was leaking out at a continuous rate. Dealership indicated this is a common issue with the Cobalt. No warning lights other than difficulty starting vehicle and then smell of gas.

- #11458464March 26, 2022VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
My husband was driving and the car suddenly stopped taking gas and said reduced engine power. He got it back home as it was only a few miles but top speed was less than 10 mph. It never did run right anymore and then completely stopped a few days later. Also the key gets stuck in the car if the battery goes dead. I had to leave the key in with the window down because I was scared of getting locked out. When my husband was able to come and charge the battery some it released the key. It never had any issues like these until they suddenly started. These issues showed up in summer 2021. Codes mentioned general electrical failure, throttle control issues with pedal and tac module. High and low voltage to tac module.

My 2010 Cobalt has been leaking fuel from the suspected fuel/vent lines at or near the rear driver's side wheel well. There remains a constant puddle of fuel noticed every time after car has been parked. The issue was first observed by a strong odor inside the cabin of the car. The amount of fuel leaking is severe enough to significantly effect my mpg and fuel pressure. The lack of fuel pressure results in delayed starting or extended cranking of engine until enough pressure is built to start the engine. The leaking fuel is a significant fire Hazzard.

I do believe or at least was told that the noise sounds like the steering motor is going out. When I was trying to look for part stores that have one, the first thing that came up was a couple of images, but then the next thing was GM recalls on my year and make and the part I was looking up. I can't find it by entering my VIN# on GM website. I was told that my Chevy Cobalt was knowing to have issues with the steering.
