SummaryThis Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that the engine stops running after extended idle with shifter in park. Dealer should communicate to the customer this condition is a normal operating characteristic of their vehicle. If the customer exits the vehicle with the fob in their possession while the engine is running and the shifter is left in park, the engine will shut off after 2.5 hours. If the customer is sitting in the vehicle with the engine running and the fob is in the vehicle, the Passive Entry Passive Start system will reach out and look for the fob after 2.5 hours. If the fob is located, the timer will reset an additional 2.5 hours.

Summary33530 Service Update. Certain vehicles may have an engine ground cable (EGC) that could come in contact with the passenger side half-shaft assembly, which may cause the EGC to wear through the insulation and the cable diameter may reduce over time. If this occurs, a noise near the front passenger's side may be heard while the vehicle is in motion. If the insulation on the EGC is worn through to the bare cable, arcing may occur between the EGC and half-shaft at engine start. If the EGC is severed while the vehicle is in motion, and the driver brakes to a stop and the vehicle enters stop/start mode, the engine will shut off and various driver information center (DIC) messages will display. The vehicle will not be able to re-start. Dealers are to use a tie strap to attach the EGC to the engine harness. If there is extensive damage, the engine ground cable can either be repaired or the engine wire harness can be replaced.

SummaryThis Preliminary Information communication advises the technician that some customers may comment on the operation of their haptic seat during a Lane Keep Assist event. Lane Keep Assist works differently than Lane Departure Warning. The Lane Keep Assist icon is solid amber, Forward Camera Module is actively commanding a torque to Electronic Power Steering. This means that the driver should also feel some feedback from the steering wheel. No Chimes or haptic in the seat. Lane Keep Assist icon is flashing amber; Forward Camera Module is actively commanding torque to Electronic Power Steering. This will also be accompanied with Lane Departure Warning chimes and haptic in the seat feedback based on the setting chosen in the vehicle settings. This will take place when the vehicle has crossed lane marking by (40 cm) or (15.75 in).
