My driver and passenger airbags deployed because my car all of the sudden lurched forward on it's own and I bumped the car in front of me and when it happened my car started accelerating and revving all on it's own into the car ahead and I was trying to make it stop by pushing the brakes but the brake pedal wouldnt move it was hard and wouldnt move so my car kept accelerating bumping the car in front of me over and over and I was stomping down on the brake pedal to make it stop but it wouldnt. After about 30 seconds of this it just stopped. The airbags were blowing out very hot air that burned and bruised my left arm very badley and myself and my minor passenger were choking from it. My driver side window and windshield were both broken from the explosion of the airbags but the body of my car wasn't damaged. I had noticed that sometimes the display in my car wouldnt show all the car controls but never imagined the car would malfunction like this. Now the repair shop wants the same amount of money that I initially paid for the car to repair it and my insurance is not covering it. Please help because this was not my fault the car malfunctioned.

The vehicle was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the Vin was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 101,947. This recalls affected vehicles are all F30 models with N26 engine produced from Feb 2012-May 2013. Contact's car is a F30 with N26 engine produced May 01, 2013.

May of 2019 my driver door airbag, driver side front to rear pillar airbag bursted open while driving 30mph on a flat smooth road. Took to BMW dealer and they informed me that there was a recall and they'd look into it. Days later picked up my car and they said they went off from aftermarket items on my car. Which is absurdly inaccurate. I'm an auto mechanic of 10 years and nothing I've done to my car has any effect on the airbag or safety systems of my car period. They were extremely rude, didn't want to fix the over $5000 of damage that was done to my interior. Treated me like I was some idiot. And didn't offer me a loaner vehicle for the 3 days they had my car either like they guarantee they do in the event of recalls.

The contact owns a 2014 BMW 328i. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel locked up not allowing the contact to turn the steering wheel. The contact stated the chassis stabilization warning light was illuminated on the control panel. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it has yet to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 13V454000 (Service brakes, Hydraulic). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Two years ago, the driver side door would not open from the inside or outside of the car (pulling on both handles didn't open it) and attempting to unlock it by the dash unlock button didn't work. . The only way to exit the car was to crawl across the front of the car and exit out the passenger side. Was told that the problem was caused by a faulty door actuator. Fast forward to today and the same thing is happening again. I can't open my front drivers side door from the inside or outside which is obviously a major safety issue. Pulling on the handle on either side doesn't open the door and using the dash unlock button doesn't help unlock it either. After doing some research on this, it looks like this is a chronic problem with BMW E90 models (mine is a 2008 328i). With this being a major safety issue and is common with this model of vehicle, is there the possibility of a recall?

ENGINE
It seems that the Bolts holding the Vanos unit intact have come loose or sheared and cause a loud high pitch squealing along with a higher volume in oil loss and this has also cause a seal of some sort or go bad and excess oil burning. Also, the car has a loud tick in the engine now. My vin number is not accepted u der the recall list but my cars make model and year for the credentials along with the problems that the engine continues to have. I would Appreciate it if the company adds this car and it’s vin to the list of recall so i can Have it properly fixed

Always get the message: right break light. I have changed the lightbulb several times and the break light fails to work. Sometimes it works and sometimes it stops working. I believe this is common problem based on you tube videos and postings on the internet. How can it be fixed?

My son was injured by the impact of an accident on May 30th, 2021. He was driving when a car sped past him, lost control, slammed into the center median guardrail, then into the drivers side door of my sons car. The impact was strong enough to dent and puncture a large hole in the door, yet the side impact air bags did not deploy. Nor did any other air bag. we still currently have the vehicle.

WHILE DRIVING BOTH IN REGULAR TRAFFIC AND HIGHWAY TRAFFIC THE CAR HAS WITHOUT WARNING GONE INTO A LIMP MODE SHUDDERING ALLOWING NO POWER AT ALL TO THE ACCELERATOR. A MESSAGE POPS UP "DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION MAXIMUM DRIVETRAIN OUTPUT NOT AT AVAILABLE. IF YOU GET PULLED OVER TURN THE VEHICLE OFF WAIT A COUPLE MINUTES TURN THE IGNITION BACK ON THE VEHICLE RUNS LIKE THAT NEVER HAPPENED. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF THE VEHICLE GOES LIMP NO POWER WHILE ON THE FREEWAY IN FRONT OF A BIG 18 WHEELER IT HAPPENED TO ME THE OTHER VEHICLES DO NOT UNDERSTAND YOUR VEHICLE JUST DIED WHILE GOING 75 MPH.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON 05/01/2021 IN THE BOSTON AREA ON A SMOOTH ROAD AT NIGHT, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR & SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. NO ACCIDENT, NO POTHOLES, NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY, JUST DRIVING AND THEN AN EXPLOSION FROM AIRBAGS AND THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO IMMOBILIZED AT THE BATTERY.

TIMING CHAIN GUIDE FAILURE. COULD'VE BEEN PREVENTED HAD WE BEEN PROPERLY NOTIFIED THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT AND THAT THIS PART HAD BEEN RE-ENGINEERED IN 2013 DUE TO KNOWN FAILURE. LIMITED WARRANTY LETTER SENT 12/2017 DID NOT ADEQUATELY INFORM US OF THE NEED TO HAVE THIS PART CHECKED AND REPLACED. IN FACT LETTER STATES "THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF A RECALL OR SERVICE ACTION." DRIVING FROM LONG BEACH CA TO PHOENIX AZ ON 3/5/21. 90 MILES OUTSIDE OF PHOENIX, ENGINE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON FOR "LOW OIL PRESSURE". PULLED OVER, RAN OIL LEVEL CHECK AND IT READ "FULL". SEEMED ODD. DROVE ON FURTHER, 20 MINS LATER, SAME MESSAGE CAME ON, PULLED OFF INTERSTATE AND AGAIN RAN OIL LEVEL CHECK, READ FULL. THOUGHT MAYBE IT'S JUST A FAULTY SENSOR AND COULD HAVE IT FIXED WHEN WE ARRIVE TO PHOENIX. NEXT DAY, BROUGHT THE CAR TO CHAPMAN BMW IN PHOENIX AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A CRACKED OIL FILTER HOUSING. WHEN ASKED, "HOW MUCH OIL WAS IT LOW, AND WHY DID THE OIL LEVEL COME UP FULL IF THERE WAS A LOW PRESSURE?" THEY DECIDED TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK. ONLY THEN DID THEY FIND THE BROKEN PART IN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TIMING CHAIN. THIS FAILED PART ALSO RESULTED IN HAVING TO HAVE OTHER PARTS REPLACED, INCLUDING THE OIL PUMP, DUE TO WORN PLASTIC SHAVINGS RUN THROUGH THE SYSTEM. THIS/THESE ARE ADDRESSED IN THE GELIS, ET AL. V. BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT AND BMW OF NORTH AMERICA, LLC, CIVIL ACTION NO. 2:17-CV-07386 SETTLEMENT. WE HAD JUST PASSED 100K MILES A FEW DAYS BEFORE LEAVING FOR OUR TRIP. HOWEVER, THIS COULD'VE BEEN AVOIDED HAD WE KNOWN THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO HAVE THESE PARTS PRE-EMPTIVELY REPLACED AT A SPECIFIC MILEAGE. ADDITIONAL PARTS/REPAIRS NEEDED DUE TO THIS PART FAILURE, WE ALSO INCURRED ADDITIONAL UNNECESSARY HOTEL, AIRFARE, AND TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES. ALL OF THIS COULD'VE BEEN AVOIDED IF BMW PROVIDED PROPER MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

LEFT REAR DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE USE CENTRAL SYSTEM, REMOTE SYSTEM NOR THE MANUAL PULL HANDLE INSIDE NOR THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE. STATIONARY, HAVE REPLACED FUSES AND MANUALLY ENGAGED THE ACTUATOR. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS IF A CHILD OR ELDERLY ADULT IN CARE DURING A WRECK, FIRE ETC.
