SERVICE BRAKES
My vehicle has only 36526 miles. The brake pedal goes down to 2 inches from the floor and is a major traffic hazzard. I have attempted numerous times unsuccessfuly to make an appointment with Elite Acura in Maple Shade, NJ No answer at Service Dept. Today, 6/8/21, I contacted Acura Customer Relation and the Rep. could not contact Elite Acura as well. She did assigned case # 12275613. This is traffic accident waiting to occur. Can you help me?

I was driving around 30miles/hr and the engines shut off unexpectedly. I was stuck in the middle of a highway and the engine didn’t turn back on. The dashboard showed total failure. The car was one year old with 11k miles. I just had it serviced by the dealer.

While driving on interstate I-15 in Las Vegas the car suddenly without any warning stalled and engine shutoff in the middle of the interstate. No warning messsages or indicators on dashboard. There was sufficient fuel in the car. Several attempts to start were made but were unsuccessful. Mu family and I were dangerously trapped on the Interstate for 30 minutes. I could not move the vehicle to safety. After 30 minutes I attempted to start and it started as if nothing happened and I was able to drive it again without problems. I am not a trained technician but I suspect it could be a fuel pump problem. I hace read that there have been recent safety recalls on Acura/Honda cars for fuel pump issues. Thank you for keeping us safe on our roads.

ENGINE
Car stalled while in traffic line with Auto idle engaged. Took foot off brake to move forward and car stalled. Unable to restart car after the stall. Had to be towed to Honda dealership, they assessed it was an alternator issue. Alternator replaced car starts normally. Drove car for approximately 30 min and had turned off the Auto idle feature. Car stalled again after sitting in traffic and trying to move ahead. This time car restarted without issue. No warnings or messages on that I noticed. Have read many forums that describe similar issues to Honda and Acura's

LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:HOOD:LATCH
On June 1, 2021 at about 9 p.m. the hood popped up, then the truck latch, the speedometer was reading a different speed than the cruise control without any interference, and the bluetooth and entertainment center were not operating correctly, yet no codes or warning lights. On resuming travel on I-80 a semi started flashing his lights and veered out of the way so I slowed, and the parking brake engaged without my use of the parking brake as I was travelling at 80 mph, slowed to 45 with the semi. Struck a road marker and the wheels were locked up on the interstate and steam appeared along along the windshield and passenger window with some whining from transmission. I notified Acura (Montreal) from alongside the interstate. Research revealed that this problem has been reported in many different types of Acura since 2015. There were many warning lamps that appeared after the lock-up with two messages "Emission System Problems" and "Electric Parking Brake Problem" with the mileage at 43k. When I tried to move the car individual wheels locked up, first driver rear, then front passenger, followed by front driver and rear passenger. There was smoke coming out from the wheels, and the front bumper has physical damage. Seeing this problem existed for years, and not the seriousness and intensity of the problem grew it is hard to understand how Acura and the NHTSA cannot issue a recall when this could have been a serious calamity on a major interstate causing loss of life, injury and serious interruption with interstate commerce. The vehicle was towed to Acura dealership in Reno on June 2, 2021 and the dealership's service department has been very helpful.

For just shy of a year, We've been experiencing problems with our 2016 TLX misfiring and stalling. Fuel pressure has been tested and it's shown to dramatically drop while under load. It behaves like the problem identified with the recall NHTSA 19V060000 for the V6 of the same year/model. It's a very disturbing event when it happens and it prevents us from driving the car longer than 30-45 minutes - particularly for adequately and safely handling highway driving. At the worst, the car goes into limp mode/stalls out.

POWER TRAIN
I was pulling on to interstate 5 when attempting lane change I accelerated with no success. The gas pedal was pressed harder and still no acceleration and that went on for at least 3 to 4 seconds. This happens to me every day. I have tried different brands of fuel but always premium and that has made no changes. The vehicle had a fuel system recall which made little if any improvement when it was performed over a year ago.

WHEN DRIVING ON A WINDY ROAD AROUND 40MPH THE CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE CAUSING THE CAR TO SUDDENLY DECELERATE TO 5 MPH WHICH NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT BY THE CAR BEHIND ME. THE CAR THEN STARTED DISPLAYING MULTIPLE ERROR CODES ON THE DASH (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE PROBLEM, EMISSIONS SYSTEM PROBLEM, BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM, BRAKE HOLD SYSTEM PROBLEM, VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST PROBLEM, HILL START ASSIST PROBLEM, LANE DEPARTURE WARNING PROBLEM).

I HAVE SOME SERIOUS ISSUES WITH ACURA TLX WITH IDLE STOP FEATURE. MY CAR HAD THE SAME ISSUES LAST YEAR, WHEN THE CAR DIDN'T TURN BACK ON AUTOMATICALLY AFTER THE IDLE STOP FEATURE ACTIVATED. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP(ACURA OF FREMONT, CA) AND THEY CAN'T ABLE TO FIGURE OUT THE ROOT CAUSE AND MY CAR BATTERY DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. IT TOOK 3 -4 HOURS TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY BUT NOW THIS ISSUE STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN. I CALLED ACURA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY PROVIDED ME THIS CASE NUMBER # [XXX] AND FORWARD THE CASE TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP (ACURA OF FREMONT, CA). I HAVE DROPPED THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY ARE NOT VERY HOPEFUL TO FIND OUT THE ROOT CAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. THIS ISSUE IS REALLY A SAFETY RISK AND NOT SURE WHAT YOU ARE PLANNING TO DO TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. IT'S SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH IDLE STOP FEATURE. CONSTANT BATTERY DRAINING FROM UNKNOWN ISSUE WITHIN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I AM CURRENTLY ON MY THIRD CAR BATTERY AFTER PURCHASING MY CAR IN JANUARY 2016 WITH 108 MILES ON THE CAR. I HAVE BEEN USING A PORTABLE BATTERY JUMPER FOR THE LAST MONTH BECAUSE OF THIS ON GOING ISSUE. THE CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER PARKING OVERNIGHT AND HAVE CAUSED A DISTURBANCE IN MY LIFE BEFORE COMMUTING TO AND FROM WORK, ALONG WITH TO COVID19 VACCINATION APPOINTMENTS. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THE AUTO START/STOP FUNCTION WHEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AT A RED LIGHT WHERE THE ENGINE IS SUPPOSE TO TURN OFF AND BACK ON IN ORDER TO BE GAS EFFICIENT. I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO TURN OF THE FEATURE DUE TO THE CAR DYING COMPLETELY IN AT A RED LIGHT AND CAUSING A TRAFFIC JAM. IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND HAVE CAUSED ADDITIONAL INCONVENIENCE IN MY DAILY COMMUTE. I BELIEVE BOTH ISSUES ARE RELATED AND IT IS AN ISSUE WITH ACURA DUE TO MULTIPLE INDIVIDUALS ACROSS THE COUNTRY WHEN I HAVE DONE RESEARCH WITHIN ACURA TLX FORUMS.

AFTER A TRAFFIC LIGHT STOP, I ACCELERATED AND THE CAR LOST ACCELERATION, THEN THE CHECK ENGINE TURNED ON. I PULLED OVER AND HAD NO RESPONSE FROM THE ACCELERATOR. CHECK ENGINE WAS FLASHING. I TURNED OFF THE CAR THEN TURNED IT BACK ON, AND PROBLEM WAS GONE ACCELERATION CAME BACK. I MERGE INTO MY LANE AGAIN AND NOT EVEN 100 FT WHEN MY DASH LIGHTS CAME ON, LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE. EVERY LIGHT IN MY DASH WAS LIT. THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME OF THE LIGHTS THAT WERE ON. POWER STEERING PARK CHECK ENGINE ADAPTABLE CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM COLLISION SIGN SEATBELT TRACTION CONTROL OIL LIGHT ABS COLLISION LIGHT BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM ACC LKAS VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST THE ISSUE APPEARED TO BE ELECTRICAL SINCE THE MECHANICAL PARTS OF THE CAR LOOKED OK. I DROVE THE CAR HOME AT 55 MPH SINCE THATS AS FAST AS IT WILL LET ME DRIVE IT. I STOPPED AT A AUTOZONE TO SCAN THE OBD COMPUTER AND JUST A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 2 CODE CAME UP WHICH IS STRANGE THAT A MISFIRE WOULD CAUSE THIS PROBLEM. NO OTHER CODES CAME OUT. NOTE: CAR HAD NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON BEFORE THIS IN 179,000 MILES WE HAVE OWNED IT. WENT HOME DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY THEN HOOK IT BACK ON. PROBLEM WENT AWAY. IT HASNOT HAPPENED IN 12 HRS. THE ISSUE IS I DONT TRUST THE CAR ANYMORE. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IN THE FREEWAY 10 AT 80 MPH WITH TRAFFIC, I WOULD HAVE CAUSE A DEADLY CRASH. THEN I LOOKED ON YOU TUBE AND THERE IS PRACTICALLY DOZENS OF ACURA OWNERS WITH IDENTICAL ISSUES, SOME OF THEM AVOIDED CRASHES BECAUSE OF LOSS OF POWER. DEALERS CANT FIND SOLUTIONS, IN THE COMMENTS SECTION ALL I READ IS PEOPLE ASKING IF SOMEONE FOUND A SOLUTION. SEEMS LIKE HONDA SHOULD BE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT , TO KEEP THEIR COSTUMERS SAFE. HOPE THIS LETTER GETS TO THEM AND NHTSA DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, BEFORE IT TAKES SOMEONE'S LIFE.

THERE WAS ALREADY A RECALL ON THIS COLOR BUT JUST NOT FOR THIS MODEL SO THEY WON'T FIX IT UNLESS I PAY OUT OF POCKET !!!

THERE HAVE BEEN A COUPLE OF INCIDENTS WHERE I WILL BE DRIVING AND MY CAR SUDDENLY JOLTS AND COASTS TO A STOP. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE CAR IS BEING PLACED IN NEUTRAL WHILE I AM DRIVING BECAUSE WHEN I PRESS ON THE GAS. IT WILL JUST REV THE ENGINE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL TURN ON AS WELL. I TYPICALLY TURN OFF AND ON THE CAR AND THE CAR WILL THEN WORK JUST FINE. THESE INCIDENTS SEEM TO HAPPEN WHEN I AM DRIVING ON A CITY STREET.
