I purchased this car in late February 2024. In late July, without any provocation or incident, the windshield cracked on the driver's side. I took the vehicle to an Acura dealer in Virginia Beach, VA, and asked about replacement. The car was less than six months old, and only had about 4,000 miles on it. The dealer stated to me, after taking a number of photographs, that they (the dealer) would submit this as a warranty claim to Acura. I was notified about two weeks later that he windshield was indeed covered by the warranty and that I could make an appointment in early September to have the windshield replaced. Since then, the appointment has been a constant postponement by the dealer and ACura stating that the part -- iu.e. a new windshield -- is not available. The last notification arrived by email this past week (and I am happy to forward the emall chain to you). I cannot het a response form either the dealer or Acura as to if and when this windshield will be replaced. It has not been six months since I started the process.

the last 3 times we had very insignificant snow accumulation, my vehicle dashboard lit up with 6 different warnings, some audible. when you look up the info on them it says the car cannot steer, break, will roll on a hill etc. One warning advises to remove all flammables from the car. I was very nervous and almost towed the car but since I was a mile from home I drove it and brought it to the dealer at 0730 next day. they said nothing was wrong. snow or dirt probably got behind sensor. It has happened two more times in the next 10 days. I keep taking off work and nothing is wrong. The issue is when this happens you cannot change the vehicle to snow mode to drive. this is a safety feature as well as the flashing "brake" warning and audible alarm. I have a [XXX] and [XXX] driver and they do not want to operate this vehicle. Both times it happened again, I took it to the car wash and cleaned every visible camera and sensor to no avail. I am taking it back to the dealer again this Friday but if nothing is wrong with any of these systems then there is something wrong with the cameras because how can someone operate AWD and snow mode when there are these false warnings and how do you know if they aren't false. I don't want to assume each time it's not but 3 times in 10 days and missing work, etc. Plus I am very nervous driving it like this. I reported it to Acura- they said there were no recalls. would not provide info if they have prior complaints. On google, I have found numerous complaints about this. Rear storage compartment is collecting lots of moisture. This area is growing mold on the carpet and lid. Not sure if there is a faulty drain issue or the manufacturer failed to insulate this area properly causing major condensation. This is a serious health hazard concern as occupants are now exposed to mold. Vehicle is scheduled to go in to the dealership to test for water leaks 2/21/25. Until we get into the dealership, from my observation it appears to be an issue with condensation from improper insulation/engineering.

On more than several occasions the car has slammed on the breaks for no apparent reason. This has happened multiple times and thr dealer can’t fix the issue because the computer is showing no error. This is a serious concern for me as the last time it occurred a child hit her face on the back of the passenger seat causing her lip to bleed.

My new Acura MDX has very soft braking under normal braking and with harder braking the pedal normally is at the same level as the accelerator pedal which I feel could be a safety issue if your foot is then pressing both pedals at the same time. Also, when driving with adaptive cruise activated, when the car starts to brake on its own following another slower car, with my foot resting on the accelerator, the brake petal will activate and sometimes trap my foot between brake and accelerator petals. This is new to Acura as this is my third MDX since 2014. It has been noted on u-tube videos of the new MDX's. The dealer says it is not an adjustable brake system. The car can be hard to stop with a heavy load. Nothing I have ever experience before with any car. - #11634048January 4, 2025SERVICE BRAKES
Vehicle has had 3 instances of a feeling of locking/ seizing and shutter or hesitation during braking at 40 to 65 MPH. Service light appear about brake system which quickly vanishes in less than few seconds same as feeling of the brake seizing also disappears within few seconds. This occurred from initial purchase to date at 21k miles. Vehicle brake system inspected at this service junction 2 years after purchase and at this service at 21k one single brake pad and rotor has worn on right front brake pad to 3mm. Front right Brake rotor also deemed damaged and require changing. Other 3 brakes pads and rotors meaning left front brake pad and rotor and 2 rear brake pads and rotors are in good condition at 8mm. The dealership has issued a finding from their independent warranty inspection people who refute that the brake caliper as deemed as cause of this issue in past cases have now instructed the dealerships to NOT change caliper but just change the brake and rotor affected and to do this at the vehicle owner's expense nonetheless. So the vehicle has has other identified issues with uneven brake wear of the model 2022 MDX Type S. The manufacturer is not acting in good faith to provide safe and reasonable means of addressing this issue. This issue is clearly happening to this particular MDX and now Acura does not want to find the problem and correct it. My brake has worn to 3mm and yet it is not considered a "defective" part that must be at fault? There needs to be an identification of what can be causing this as brakes are one of the major safety components for a vehicle. Acura needs to find out the cause and stop passing the responsibility of correcting an obvious defect onto the consumer with a bandaid. Changing the rotor and brake pad is not the way. The root defect needs to be addressed especially since there is obviously multiple people with same issue with this make and model 2022.

The automatic transmission on the vehicle failed without warning. Vehicle was driven on the highway without issues; exited highway to a city street, stopped at a stop light, and turned onto another street. Upon turn onto another street, transmission did not upshift as it should; it was noticed the engine was revving high, but transmission did not shift. Tried to manually shift, with no luck. There were no warning lights or messages present at any time. Vehicle was stopped in a safe area and turned off, restarted, and tried again. Transmission still would not shift correctly; when it tried to shift, it would clunk, and it sounded like something dragging under the vehicle. Drove vehicle home and parked it. Later when transmission was shifted into gear, it did not move, and made a terrible clunking noise, then a squealing sound. Called dealer and had vehicle towed in for inspection. After inspection, manufacturer replaced failed transmission under warranty. Per dealer rep, transmission failed, and registered two internal codes, one for incorrect gear ratio, and other for torque converter issue. While the codes registered internal, unfortunately there were no warnings issued to driver. Safety was put at risk because if the failure happened while on the highway three miles earlier, there was no warning to driver who was driving in heavy traffic, and they may have been involved in an accident. The only reason the driver was aware of the issue was because they could hear the engine revving high, and they pulled over to inspect. A less experienced driver may not notice the same issues. Additionally, it's concerning that transmission codes were stored internally but did not trip any transmission issues or loss of power warning; this could prevent drivers from noticing issues prior to failure. Lastly, the vehicle health report we received from Acura on 12/31 (and states as of 12/12, day after failure), stated there are no transmission issues present.

Airbags: I was driving on interstate five when traffic had come to a slow stop. The vehicle far behind me not paying attention and hit me going at a very fast speed that forced my car into a box truck in front of me. My car was found to be a total loss. Zero airbags were deployed with either impact. The hood completely crunched and dash broke open inside vehicle.

My vehicle has a battery issue, we replaced the battery twice in two years still the issue might happened again and again. Once the battery start draining energy, everything start blinking and car stops all of a sudden in the middle of the road because of brake assistance problem. All the system errors come up. It is very scary to drive the vehicle with my kids inside. All system in car works with battery. service center told me that this kind of cars needs bigger battery and company only put small batteries in the car. Company don’t put warranty on battery if it is replaced under car warranty. My car is only 33 months old and i have to change battery twice, It might happen again. Please help me to resolve the problem. It looks like factory problem that company do not make sufficient batteries to satisfy the vehicle needs. I have attached the pictures of safety lights.

I was lightly stepped on the gas coming off a complete stop with no cars in front of me. The automatic breaking came on hard and a sensor flashed to BRAKE as if I was going to hit someone but there was nobody in front of me. The sensor alert system was turned off 15min prior as I had gone through a car wash. This is the first time this has happened but unknown why. Had there been a car behind me, I may have been hit.

Driving to work, about to merge onto the highway when my car beeped at me and several warning messages appeared on my dashboard: "Road departure mitigation system problem. See your dealer.; Low speed braking control problem. See your dealer.; Electric power steering system problem. Steering assist not available. Do not drive.; Collision mitigation braking system problem. See your dealer." Simultaneously, the steering wheel became extremely hard to turn and the car would barely move, even when applying pressure to the gas pedal. I was, very slowly, able to turn my car off of the main road, onto a side street, and eventually into a parking lot. In the parking lot, I turned the car on and off several times but the warning messages returned and the steering wheel was almost impossible to move. I then opened Acura Link and requested a roadside assistance for a tow. After approximately 20 minutes the tow truck showed up. I got out of the car and let the tow truck drive look. The warning messages on the dashboard were gone and the steering wheel was fine. Tow truck driver followed me to my Acura dealership. They have had the car since. Dealership said it was the "Steering Angle Sensor". They are replacing with new. Never had issues before.

While driving, the power steering in my car failed. I was unable to turn the steering wheel beyond 0.5” or so. Luckily, I was driving only 25mph on an empty road, so I was able to take my time and pull over. But had I been on the highway, this would have been a fatal crash for my wife, 2 year old, one 5 month old, who were in the car. When the power steering failed, I had 10+ failure messages flash on the screen (full list available on request), along with multiple error lights. The car is with Rallye Acura in Roslyn, NY, who has been unable to replicate the failure. They have stated the car is fine to drive. However, we are very shaken and afraid to get in the car until the root cause is identified, and a solution is offered.

- #11617395October 1, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
While driving at approximately 25 mph with no vehicle in front of me and no objects in the road ahead of me, the automatic braking system suddenly and unexpectedly engaged and brought my vehicle to a near stop. This was sudden and unexpected and the vehicle behind me nearly collided with my vehicle. It also caused my head/neck to jolt forward and while I did not sustain an injury it was a significant “jolt”. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk by my vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly braking automatically for no reason. This issue could easily cause collisions and injure me, my passengers, and occupants of vehicles driving behind my vehicle who may not be able to slow down or stop in my time when my vehicle automatically brakes suddenly and without warning, for no apparent reason. The problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. The vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. When the brakes suddenly engaged, the “Brake” warning flashed on the driver panel/screen in a yellow/orange color. There were no other warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the automatic braking system suddenly engaging for no reason.

The contact owns a 2024 Acura MDX. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH a loud booming noise occurred as the glass sunroof exploded without impact. During the incident shards of glass fell into the vehicle's cabin making contact with both the driver and the second-row passenger. The son, who was seated in the second-row passenger seat sustained a laceration on the left arm which did not require medical treatment. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 8,000.

- #11614218September 12, 2024STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
While driving the vehicle and while it was in motion, I received a wave of faults. The power steering, lane departure, brake system, brake hold system, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, trailer stability, and adaptive cruise control all failed. Consequently, the steering wheel locked completely while the car was in motion. I couldn’t steer at all, and the car was in motion! I informed American Honda and the dealer, who informed me that “they had never heard of such a problem”, and that they were “unable to duplicate the issue” when the tow truck brought it into the shop.
