The 2027 Toyota Tundra is set to arrive at dealerships in Fall 2026, introducing a new Trailhunter off-road package, significant towing technology enhancements, and a refreshed design. With a starting MSRP of $42,890, the updated Tundra aims to offer a blend of capability and advanced features for the full-size pickup segment.
Key Updates and New Trailhunter Package
The 2027 Tundra features a revised exterior with a more modern front-end appearance and a new steering wheel design inside the cabin. A notable addition is the new Trailhunter package, based on the SR5 grade, designed for overlanding. This package includes Michelin LTX Trail 265/70R18 tires, an Old Man Emu® upgraded suspension, front recovery hooks, and additional underbody protection.
The Trailhunter package also incorporates 4WD, a locking rear differential, Crawl Control, and Multi-Terrain Select for enhanced off-road performance. Distinctive bronze-colored wheels, exclusive exterior badging, and color-selectable fog lamps further differentiate this model. For the TRD Pro grade, new Tundra-tuned FOX® QS3® shocks are introduced, alongside a new Honeycomb exterior color option and red tow hooks. Improved lighting output and available ISO-dynamic seats are also part of the TRD Pro upgrades.
Enhanced Technology and Performance
Technology updates for the 2027 Toyota Tundra include a standard 14-inch touchscreen for the latest Toyota Audio Multimedia system across all grades. This system features AT&T 5G connectivity, a configurable home screen, and a built-in Drive Recorder Dash Cam. A 12.3-inch digital meter is now standard, and enhanced Digital Key functionality is available. The system runs on the new Arene software platform, enabling over-the-air updates and advanced features.
Towing capabilities are improved with new Trailer Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (TADAS). These include Automated Trailer Detection, which uses sensors to identify trailer characteristics, and an extended Trailer Blind Spot Monitor. Trailer Lane Trace Assist provides steering support specifically for towing, while the enhanced Trailer Backup Guide offers dynamic guidelines and semi-automated steering. The 2027 Toyota Tundra also comes with Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, featuring Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Emergency Drive Stop System.
Under the hood, the available i-FORCE MAX hybrid twin-turbo V6 engine delivers 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. of torque, allowing for a maximum towing capacity of up to 12,000 pounds. All grades now include a standard 32.2-gallon fuel tank, a tow hitch, and a 7/4 pin connector. An available 2.4-kW inverter provides onboard power.
Pricing, Availability, and Warranty
The 2027 Toyota Tundra will begin arriving at dealerships in Fall 2026, with a starting manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $42,890.
Toyota provides a 36-month/36,000-mile basic new-vehicle warranty. Powertrain components are covered for 60 months/60,000 miles, and corrosion for 60 months.
