For the 2026 event, jurors spent two days testing competing vehicles on scenic routes in Sonoma County, California. The evaluation process covers multiple categories, including Best EV, Best Car, Best Compact SUV, and others.

Charlie Vogelheim, President of WAJ, noted that all drivers were highly satisfied with the EV3, specifically highlighting its attractive design and well-organized interior layout. The comprehensive testing environment allowed jurors to assess the vehicle's performance and features under real-world driving conditions.

During the evaluation, the 2027 Kia EV3 GT-Line AWD stood out, even among larger competitors. Jurors praised its design, features, and overall practicality. One WAJ juror described the EV3 as having a "crisp and distinctive design, an abundance of features, and clever packaging," adding that "driving it feels like entertainment." Another juror characterized the EV3 as "fun to drive, well put together and practical."

The EV3 GT-Line AWD starts at an MSRP of $43,490. It offers an EPA-estimated all-electric range of 280 miles on a full battery charge. For charging, the vehicle supports 150kW DC fast charging, allowing it to replenish its battery from 10 to 80 percent state of charge in approximately 31 minutes.
