1. Transfer Box Removal: The transfer box must be removed following repair instructions 27 10 010, “Removing and installing the transfer box.”
2. Cleaning: Clean the inner splines of the DCT (identified as ‘1’ in the diagram) using brake cleaner and a brass wire brush. The outer splines of the transfer case should also be cleaned with brake cleaner and a brass wire brush. It is important to use nothing harder than brass to avoid damage.
3. Seal Replacement: Replace the radial shaft oil seal for the DCT as specified in the repair instructions.
4. Grease Application: Apply MI-Setral-43N grease evenly to the inside of the input flange, ensuring the spaces between the teeth are filled. Excess grease must be cleaned from the end face of the gear, making sure it does not contact the shaft seal.
5. Sealant Application: Apply a continuous bead of Loctite 5970 to the input shaft of the transfer case. The transfer case must be installed immediately after applying the Loctite.
6. Installation: Install special washers between the stabilizer link and the transfer case before bolting the transfer case to the DCT.

Two labor operation codes are provided:

• Work Pkg #1: Labor Operation 00 75 870 for “Reworking the interface between the double clutch transmission and the transfer box” (Plusposition work).
• Work Pkg #2: Labor Operation 00 75 283 for “Reworking the interface between the double clutch transmission and the transfer box” (Main work), used when the vehicle arrives at the service center and the Service Action is open.

Only one of these flat rate labor operation codes can be used for claim submission and reimbursement. Sublet Code 4 allows for reimbursement of repair-related bulk supply materials up to $150.00. For Alternative Mobility Solution (AMS) expense reimbursement, refer to SI B01 29 16 and use Sublet Code 2.
