Vehicle Information: 2024 Toyota Tundra 4x4, VIN: [XXX] livery: [XXX] Current Mileage: 24,147 Complaint Synopsis: My 2024 Toyota Tundra is subject to two active open safety recalls with no remedy available ("NO FIX YET" status per Toyota owner portal). 1. What component(s) or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Primary: Engine assembly (Recall 25TB14 / 25TA14) – machining debris left in the engine during manufacturing. This can cause engine knocking, rough running, no-start, and sudden loss of motive power. Secondary: Reverse lamp system (Recall 25TB06 / 25TA06) – moisture intrusion causing both reverse lamps to become inoperable. The vehicle remains available for immediate inspection at Clearwater Toyota or by Toyota representatives. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The engine defect creates a severe risk of sudden loss of motive power while driving at highway speeds, which can cause loss of vehicle control and increase the likelihood of a crash. The reverse lamp defect eliminates rear visibility and brake indication when backing up in low-light conditions, significantly increasing the risk of collisions with other vehicles or pedestrians. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The defects are formally admitted by Toyota through active NHTSA safety recalls. Clearwater Toyota has refused multiple requests for inspection and service documentation. No independent inspection has been performed due to Toyota’s refusal to schedule one. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Toyota has not conducted a physical inspection of my vehicle despite repeated requests. Clearwater Toyota provided a temporary loaner vehicle but has refused to inspect or document the recalled conditions. No police or insurance inspections have occur INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

When coming to a rolling or quick stop and then attempting to maneuver across traffic, my truck hesitates for about a full second before accelerating. This delay can create a dangerous situation for myself, other drivers, and pedestrians. I believe this is a safety issue that Toyota needs to address promptly.

- #11741033May 30, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
[XXX], [XXX] PM. 2024 Toyota Tundra Hybrid (i-FORCE MAX, V35A engine), 36k miles, original owner. Clear, dry pavement, evening daylight. Exiting [XXX] westbound at [XXX] , I merged into the far right lane at the second light for a right turn. A vehicle was stopped ahead at the light. Traveling 15-20 mph, I applied the brake for controlled deceleration. Right foot squarely on brake, not touching accelerator. Vehicle did not decelerate as expected. For 3-4 seconds the brake felt unresponsive — pedal felt soft and loose, lacking normal firmness. I pressed the brake fully to the floor. A dashboard warning appeared: “gas and brake pedals are being pressed simultaneously.” I was not, and had not been, touching the accelerator. I then heard engine RPM increase audibly, consistent with an acceleration command, while my foot remained fully on the brake. I felt forward thrust working against my braking. The warning cleared and brakes engaged. Vehicle stopped approximately half a car length from the vehicle ahead, narrowly avoiding rear-end collision. Automatic Emergency Braking did NOT engage despite conditions clearly meeting its criteria — stationary vehicle directly ahead, my vehicle approaching at 15-20 mph with no observable deceleration for 3-4 seconds. No collision warning sounded; no auto-braking intervened. Notably, this same AEB has previously engaged falsely in benign situations (e.g., backing near low vegetation), suggesting reliability/calibration issues. Prior manufacturer notice: On [XXX] at 15,412 miles, I reported to Camelback Toyota, Phoenix (RO #[XXX], on file): “vehicle lurches forward going from reverse to drive (now more consistent)” — dispositioned by tech 10210 as “vehicle is operating to spec,” no diagnosis performed. Same RO documented “rattling in neutral/at stop” — dispositioned “unable to duplicate.” Toyota was on notice of throttle-response symptoms 21 months before this safety event. I bought the truck brand new in July 2022. May 2, 2026 I hit 46,461 miles and started hearing a clanking sound and caused vibration in low speeds. After 30 MPH the vibration went away. I took it straight to Toyota dealer and with hardly any questions asked they are rebuilding the whole engine and still have it since today May 29,2026.

- #11740753May 28, 2026LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, STEERING
I previously reported the safety issue truck pulls to the right after roughly 20 alignments. I leave the keep lane assist off because it exacerbates the safety issue. Recently, while trying to self diagnose the problem, I turned on the system before using an on ramp to I820. While accelerating on the on ram, the keep lane assist caused the truck to swerve left and then right. I immediately turned off the feature and the symptom stopped. This is a serious safety issue and can can injury and harm to the public.

The vehicle is either unresponsive or has a severe throttle delay from a stop or a very low speed, creating is a major safety issue. This could leave the vehicle in a position to not be able to accelerate, and risks becoming a hazard to other traffic, particularly at intersections. Understanding that a TSB is available for a transmission code reflash to resolve this issue, dealers are denying the repairs stating that they are unable to reproduce the issue in their limited test drives. It is not possible to predict when these severe hesitations occur, so reproducing the issue occurs on an unknown basis.

This recall {25TA06} has been out since May 15 2025, it's been over a year now. I have called a few times and nobody know anything when this will be completed. Rumors on line say they took care of the ones at the dealership but not the ones that customers purchased. All I need is about when this will be taken care of. Thank you

I am filing this complaint regarding an active safety recall on my 2024 Toyota Tundra involving manufacturing debris left in the V35A 3.4L twin-turbocharged V6 engine during production. This recall has been open for multiple years and spans over 250,000 vehicles across the 2022–2024 Tundra, Lexus LX 600, and 2024 Lexus GX 550. The manufacturing debris causes damage to the engine’s main bearings, resulting in engine knocking, rough running, failure to start, and sudden loss of motive power while driving at speed — a condition Toyota itself acknowledges increases the risk of a crash. Toyota deployed a remedy consisting of full engine replacement; however, Toyota has since acknowledged that the replacement engines are experiencing the same failures, meaning there is currently no confirmed, working fix. Despite this, Toyota continued selling new vehicles with this known defect. Remedy deadlines have been repeatedly promised and repeatedly missed, with the latest expected resolution pushed to July/August 2026 — a deadline that has already slipped multiple times. As an owner, I am left driving a vehicle that Toyota acknowledges is dangerous, with no confirmed timeline for a legitimate repair, and suffering significant financial harm due to the ongoing depreciation and diminished resale value caused directly by this unresolved defect.

- #11740498May 27, 2026VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM:AIR HANDLER/CHAMBER, DUCTS, AND VALVES
Prior to the oil change service, the front AC vents were functioning properly. Immediately after the dealership serviced the vehicle, the front vents stopped blowing air. This issue was not present before the visit. Regardless of whether the dealership believes an oil change “should not” affect the AC system, the fact remains that the problem arose directly after the vehicle was in their possession. (In 93 degree weather) Diagnosis determined that the AC front air outlet servo motor was stuck off and that the AC blender box would have to be replaced to remedy the issue.

I was driving on the freeway in my Toyota Tundra when it suddenly shut off completely. It was honestly terrifying because my first thought was getting rear-ended in traffic. After about 15 seconds, the truck randomly turned back on by itself, but the whole situation really shook me up. A vehicle that new shouldn’t be doing something that dangerous.

2 recall notices on my 2023 Toyota Tundra has not been repaired yet. 1. Engine recall has not been remedied. 2. back up camera still not repaired. It's been over 6 month's that my truck has been at the dealer since January 2026 and Toyota still has not made any repairs to the recall. Toyota provides the rent a car, however, I want my truck returned to me. I opened two cases with Toyota for lemon law and they said it is not qualified under the lemon law. 2. A month later, the 2nd case was for Toyota to buy back my truck and they denied it. No reason, no explanation. Please assist me in getting this problem resolved with Toyota. No one has any answers to provide in resolving the recall notices for my truck.

After I put gas into the vehicle gas tank, the gas tank gauge indicated the tank was 75% full. The following day when I started the vehicle the gauge indicated the tank was 100% full and I did not add a drop of gas into the tank. Days later the tank appears to be stuck on 100% full. My fear is that I will not realize when the tank approaches empty at a very inopportune time.

I have a 2024 Hybrid Toyota Tundra which shares the same engine that has undergone a NHTSA recall. I do not believe that the defect has been satisfactorily addressed to mitigate the risk of catastrophic engine failure in the V6 engine. I would like the recall to include the hybrid models as well for this well known and documented engine failure risk. I have not yet had any problems with the engine yet and am addressing the other separate recalls for this model. From a safety and liability perspective, I feel that Toyota has an obligation to provide the same warranty extension assurance and if needed, engine replacement as the gasoline only variant.

THIRD RECALL - Just Issued May 20, 2026 NHTSA Campaign 26V320000 43,566 additional vehicles (2024 Tundras including mine) Brings total recalled to 272,566+ vehicles Remedy status: "Currently under development" Two years and three recalls later, Toyota STILL has no proven fix The Pattern: First Recall (24V-381) - May 2024: 102,000 vehicles (2022-2023) Second Recall (25V-767) - November 2025: 127,000 vehicles (added 2024s built AFTER Toyota claimed fix) Third Recall (26V-320) - May 2026: 43,566 MORE vehicles, still no remedy Toyota is slow-rolling the true scope while claiming each time they've "identified all affected vehicles." MY OIL ANALYSIS - Objective Evidence of Bearing Damage Blackstone Labs analysis at 5,500 miles (July 2024): At just 5,500 miles, my engine was already showing 3-6x elevated bearing wear. Significance: This was done before any recall was announced for my truck (independent documentation of defect) Proves debris causes measurable damage even at very low mileage I'm now at 15,000+ miles approaching the 20k-30k failure range Toyota has provided zero guidance about damage progression Attached: Full Blackstone Labs report TOYOTA'S SMOKING GUN ADMISSION Before I did this oil analysis, I called Toyota customer service to ask if my 2024 truck was affected in the first traunch of recalls. They told me my vehicle was manufactured 5 months AFTER the issue was discovered and that my truck was not affected. Then in December of 2025 a second recall and now mine is in that recall. Toyota admits they discovered the contamination problem, then continued building engines with the same defect for at least 5 more months before my truck was built. This wasn't an oversight—this was deliberate production and sale of defective engines while publicly claiming the issue was due to machining material left in the block.

In the 2024 tundra if there is a camera misalignment for the 360 degree cameras or reverse cameras. It sets off a code that makes the trailer brake say disconnected even when connected. I took the vehicle in and had the cameras recalibrated then the brake worked. On my last trip pulling a 4,000 lb trailer the cameras came out of alignment so my trailer brake stoped working mid trip. This is a safety issue that can cause a accident.

I own a 2023 Toyota Tundra that is part of the major engine recall due to machining debris in the 3.4L V6 engine. A few days prior to the failure, I called the dealership to raise concerns that the acceleration was starting to not act right. Despite this, while driving at 70 mph on the highway yesterday (May 22, 2026), the engine suddenly failed and died without any prior warning, it is my belief that this is due to the open recall. This created a very dangerous situation as I was traveling at highway speed and could have been rear-ended or lost control of the vehicle. The truck had to be towed to the dealership. The truck now has 33,000 miles. I purchased it used for $49,000 with only 11,000 miles. This is the same known defect Toyota has issued a recall for, yet my engine still failed catastrophically. I am extremely concerned that this failure has caused additional damage to the transmission, drivetrain, or other components. I have completely lost confidence in the safety and reliability of this vehicle. Even after the planned engine replacement, I do not feel safe driving it due to the risk of future failure and the known history of this defect. I am requesting that Toyota provide a full buyback or replacement because this sudden engine failure at highway speeds poses a serious safety risk. Toyota has been notified, but I want this incident officially documented with NHTSA due to the widespread nature of these engine failures in 2022-2023 Tundras.
