Vehicle suffers from power failure response intermittently when attempting to accelerate. Sometimes it feels as it’s its sputtering before getting a sudden jolt of acceleration.

The engine hesitated going up a hill by my house. I’ve gone up the hill many times in this truck and other cars and never had the problem. I turned it off and started it again but I do t know if I should keep driving. The dealer says I can’t get the recall done yet.

Major throttle response issues. Long delay when pressing accelerator, and when under heavy acceleration, if you let off the gas because of an obstacle, the truck continues to apply propulsion. Both issues could create an unsafe situation or cause a collision

Vehicle shudders and hesitates during acceleration from a stop and at speed. Vehicle feels like it is trying to find the correct gear which is causing the turbos to release boost pressure prematurely.

The frame of the truck is extremely rusted. I am unsure if it can be fixed. It is available for inspection. This 2016 Tundra has 71,000 miles and is used as a third car. It has been serviced at the same dealership (Northshore Toyota, Covington, LA) and we were never informed of the damage by the dealership. My safety is at risk because the extensive rust could cause the frame to fail. Previous Tundra models have been recalled because of the same issues. No warnings were issued even after the dealership serviced the truck on a lift numerous times (approximately 9 years). The only previous warning by the dealership was on 1/29/2025 when the dealership informed us of a rusty trailer hitch. The truck was brought to 4 body shops in the local area after the owner went to work on the trailer hitch and saw the damage. All 4 shops confirmed that the rust was extensive. 3 shops would not fix the damage because it would be an expensive/extensive fix. We are waiting on what shop #4 says.

I upgraded from my 2017 Tacoma to a 2024 Tundra because of a growing family and the as advertised 2024 listed the same (if not better) fuel economy than my Tacoma. I am the truck says 17 city-22 highway mpg, I've not seen anything remotely close to that. Im currently getting 14 city 16.5 highway. I understand there are outside factors that could be at play, however I'm not even getting the city mpg on long trips. Having paid roughly $65k for this truck I think it should deliver as advertised. I've expressed my concern with my local dealership and was instructed to manually calculate the mpg to make sure the truck was showing the correct mpg. I can assure you that the mpg the truck is displaying is, unfortunately, correct. I've also filed a complaint with Toyota corporate and they pushed it back to my local dealership. No kne is taking accountability for this false advertisement. Frankly, I'm disappointed Toyota can continue to sell vehicles with fakse information. This reminds me of the VW diesel debacle years ago when VW finally got exposed for wrongdoing. I know many others have expressed this same concern. I hope NHTSA takes this matter seriously and forces Toyota to make this right somehow.

The fuel gauge will randomly move to full and stay there even if the tank was almost empty. You can be at half tank and then next day it shows full and it won’t reset on its own. If you don’t catch it you will think tanks full. This could easily strand someone who assumes they have a full tank. This occurs when vehicle is parked and off on restart it shows full.

2024 tundra crew max hybrid limited off road, since day one of purchase of this vehicle I have had excessive wind noise in the windows on the driver and passenger side. From what I understand many people are having the same problem with the tundras. Toyota dealership tried to solve the remedy by putting insulation in the rubber seals in the corners it quieted it down a little bit but it’s still beyond what a $75,000 vehicle should sound like while driving 45 miles and above an hour it’s very annoying to hear other cars and traffic in this this vehicle. The seals around the windows and the door jams are faulty and need to be addressed. Thank you for your time

The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH on the highway, there was an abnormally high-pitched whistling sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the sound became louder while accelerating. The contact stated that the sound was very distracting. The driver turned the radio up to drown out the abnormal sound. The contact discovered that the sound was coming from the driver's side mirror. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was able to duplicate the sound but had not determined the cause or how to fix the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 10.

2023 Toyota Tundra with 31,000 miles on it and the main bearings was knocking and engine about to cease, Toyota has a recall for this exact same thing on truck that where produced two months earlier so I am told they are replacing the hole engine but for mine Toyota only wants to just do a half block when that main bearings goes it will put metal shavings though out the engine that’s why they are replacing the hole engine why not my truck. Have bought 4 Toyota had a 07 Tundra from new put 320,000 miles on it not a lick of trouble and cost half the price. No warning lights came on. Thought engine was going to explode. Has only been serviced and inspected by Toyota dealership. My advice don’t buy a new tundra. So let the run around begin on trying to get it fixed and for how long.

There is significant throttle lag where the throttle has a delay in engagement after a rolling stop. Turning into traffic flat out is dangerous when the throttle has a delay, if you push harder then it gives you too much throttle after the delay and will chirp the tires. I am not the only one. 100s if not thousands of people are complaining about this same issue.

Toyota placed a tinted coating over its chrome on the platinum trim. The coating is pealing off. My vehicle is garaged and has 6,200 gentle miles on it. The coating appears to be bubbling, so there is an issue with it. When at the dealership getting the warranty claim addressed, I saw their own 'parts truck' of same year and trim as mine also was pealing and I pointed it out to them. Doing further research, I've seen multiple online forum images of others experiencing the issue. It appears Toyota's solution is to replace the grill/bumper chrome with the same material, so I fear it will only happen again. The fix is pending.

The vehicle is a great vehicle. However, I have been noticing that my transmission fluid temperatures rise quickly, whether on the highway or when driving around town. I spoke to a Toyota dealership, and they told me that the proper operating temperatures for the transmission are between 167 degrees and 185 degrees. the temperatures on my transmissions have gotten past 200 degrees. I feel that it is a safety issue because if I am towing or driving long distances or in stop-and-go traffic over time, the transmission may cause a breakdown and then I will be stuck in the middle of traffic. It is a pretty big and heavy vehicle to push off the roadway, and way too expensive to allow someone to push me off of the roadway.

This is a safety engine recall identified by the manufacturer. I have taken the truck to the dealer for remediation. At this point they do not have a date for correction.

Stopped at a stop sign, slightly uphill, turning from a residential street onto a busier road. When I pressed the accelerator, the pickup moved a bit and then hesitated. After pressing the accelerator further, the pickup accelerated suddenly and quickly. This has happened intermittently, multiple times. This is NOT the case of the auto start-stop system not starting quickly enough. The first risk is not being able to smoothly accelerate into traffic and getting hit from behind because of the hesitation. When the vehicle does accelerate, it jerks forward suddenly and quickly, often losing grip from the rear tires. This causes a risk of losing control or veering into the oncoming lane. The problem has been reported and the mechanics worked with the field engineers to diagnose the issue. The field engineers reported that this is a known problem There were no warning lights or other indicators that any component is malfunctioning. The problem first appeared with under 2,000 miles on the odometer and has repeated intermittently. I have not yet been able to determine a series of events that trigger the issue. It did happen a few times when stopped slightly uphill, but that isn't the only time. It is not clear whether it is the accelerator, throttle, engine, transmission, computer, or data transmission causing the problem.
