TIRES:TREAD/BELT
The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sienna equipped Hercules Tires, Tire Line: Roadtour 855 SPE, Tire Size: 215/65/R16, DOT Number: U96VH260H21. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH during a trip, the steering wheel started shuddering. The vehicle was taken to a tire shop, and the contact was informed that the two front tires had sustained tread belt separation and bulges. The two front tires were replaced. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH, the TPMS warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the tire shop, and the contact was informed that the rear passenger's side tire had sustained tread belt separation, and the metallic belt was poking through the rubber. The contact requested that the rear tires be replaced as a precautionary measure. The rear tires were replaced. All four tires were replacement tires. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle failure mileage was 173,414. The tire failure mileage was approximately 16,022. The VIN was not available.

A catastrophic failed automatic transmission; UA80E of Toyota Sienna 2020 at 85,000 miles. It occurred while I've been driving downhill. No warning lights, not overheating, no diagnostic ODB code, no other indications prior to the failure. Failure created a substantial safety risk for myself, my four passengers and other road users. Sudden loss of transmission function could lead to potential dangerous situation. Minivan was towed to the nearest Toyota dealer where transmission assembly was confirmed for replacement.

Our van has recently been having issues with the sliding doors. It has occurred while driving and the warning light as well as the warning for a door open, and the door lights have came on. Right before this occurs you can hear a click sound from the sliding door behind the driver's side as well as when you close the door, you can hear a strange sound when it closes, unlike the passenger side sliding door.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the rear hatch door struts were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V244000 (STRUCTURE); but parts were on back order. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 150,000.

POWER TRAIN
My husband parked our minivan and came in to pick up the kids. While he was inside the library, the van went out of park and hit a fire truck in the parking lot. It seems this has been an issue with Toyota siennas in the past but I do not see it reported yet for its year 2015. Our van had damage to the front fender, hood, and surrounding area and needed repair. We obviously didn’t have any idea this was possible nor noticed anything since purchasing this van recently. I have read online that a Toyota sienna cannot be turned off without being in park. Since my husband was not in the vehicle when it crashed in the parking lot, it is clearly a defect of the vehicle.

My transmission (UA80e) has started to steady whining noise when driving and has some choppiness when changing gears. The local Toyota dealership is recommending full replacement, the dealership said it is out of warranty. Toyota headquarters released a Customer Support Bulletin ZJC in 2019 covering this issue for the next 10 years, but they are saying they will not cover it under this bulletin even though my model year, transmission and symptoms all match the described issue.

Fuel filler door upper hinge failed so that door would not seat properly when closed. Because the door was not seated properly, the left side power sliding door interlock did not release, preventing the sliding door from opening fully. I had visited a fast food restaurant in Feb 2025 and ordered some French fries for my[XXX], strapped into his child seat directly behind the driver. He was choking on a fry, starting to turn blue. I quickly stopped and attempted to open the sliding power door, but it would not open fully to allow access to my grandson because the failing fuel door wouldn't release the power door interlock. By the time I ran around to the passenger side to reach him he had nearly passed out, but I reached him in time to extract him from the seat and performed a Heimlich to expel the fry and restore his breathing. Toyota should be forced to extend the extended warranty for the full duration of the court agreement of 10yr, Dec 2025, regardless of purchase date. My request for fuel door replacement in Jul 2025 was refused because Toyota claimed the warranty was only good until 10yr after date of purchase, not to the end of 2025. The warranty period applies to vehicles purchased Dec 2025, so the warranty program still exists, but Toyota National refuses to honor it for my vehicle. The inoperable power door can cause passengers to be trapped from quick exit in case of other emergencies, such as vehicle fire or accident rollover. Moonroof on my new 2025 toyota sienna has water leaking in. I've brought it to the dealership to try to resolve this. They said they fixed it. But I've just got a carwash and I still water leaking in. I have video of this. It shouldn't leak or be design to leak like the dealer said.
