- #11705236December 16, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Several times when I have honked my horn on my 2025 Camry SE cruise control has engaged. That is a dangerous situation if I'm trying to avoid a slow vehicle or accident and the vehicle goes into cruise control mode. Not sure what Toyota can do about this as the cruise control buttons are on the right side of the steering wheel behind the horn. Maybe it is overlapping or too close. There are auto braking cruise control options with the Camry but there is also a disengage non control mode that could lead to that accident.

I'm writing this for my father because he might not have the technical capacity to do this. He is [XXX] old. He bought a car last year brand new from Toyota. It is a Hybrid Camry that has some options that allow the car to follow traffic, lane keep etc. On [XXX] he had a Hybrid System Malfunction that caused the car to accelerate while at a traffic light ready to turn left. The acceleration caused his car to collide with the car in front of him. He tried to press the brakes but was not able to do it fast enough. The car in front had no damage. His car has a lot of damage. The other driver drove off. His car was damaged so much that it was not drivable. There was radiator fluid on the road. This was on [XXX]. He took the car in immediately after back to the Toyota dealership. The car is still there. It has been almost 40 days now with no resolution. No car, no rental. The dealership is saying Toyota (the headquarters has to deal with it), and Toyota did a 3rd party inspection on Nov 11, 2025. And now they are saying they will do another Toyota inspection between 30 and 45 business days from the initial inspection. So that takes us into mid January 2026 with my dad stranded with no car or having to uber or pay out of pocket to rent a car. On top of that, the dealership now has told my dad he has to get the car off their lot or start accumulating fees. They performed an EDR report. Attachin below. I am also attaching several pictures of the error messages I got including proximity notification system malfunction. And other documents. This reports night-time driving experiences, during which the front left LED headlight projects/creates fixed black “shadow” images onto the roadway in front of the car, partially obscuring the driver’s far left field of view of the roadway. Despite adjustments of the front left headlight by dealer technicians, the left headlight “shadows”, while lessened, are still projected onto the roadway and represent a night time driving safety concern. Dealer technicians made adjustments to the left headlight projection on 2 occasions. (1 the technician reported that there seems to be “bubbles” in the left side headlight projection. Technician adjusted the left headlight’s aim to proper height. Technician reports that “shadow” on roadway is a normal characteristic of LED projector inside headlamp. (2 the technician reported that the left driver side headlight is slightly high and needed to be properly aligned. Technician reports that “shadow” marking on roadway is considered normal.

There is an airbag recall with no remedy available. I’m very concerned about driving my car without this being fixed. Toyota shows the parts should have been available by now. How can they allow this to go unfixed when they are putting lives at risk? I called my dealer and they said it wasn’t fixable yet.

The driver and passenger seats has popping on the back side near the lumbar support. This happens during braking and acceleration. Its a safety concern because it distracts when driving and gives an uncomfortable feeling. Brought to dealership twice and no help into fixing the problem.

The front bumper of the vehicle is falling off, it seems to be too heavy for the vehicle. I went to the dealership and was informed this is a common reported issue with the 2025 Toyota Camry but as there is no open recall the warranty is unable to provide any assistance. This is a safety hazard and the bumper could fall off during anytime and cause a serious hazard and or accident can occur. I informed the dealership that due to the falling bumper the bottom has scrapped and caused damage and they continued stating there was nothing they could do. lm left with an issue that is dangerous for me and my family.

The headlights do not project far enough down the road making it difficult to see at night. It almost appears as if the headlights are pointing down. This is a hugh safety issue. I brought my car in to the dealer and was told that my headlights match all other 2024 camry's and there is nothing that can be done unless Toyota issues a safety recall. I have researched this issue and found many complaints online.

Wiper blades motor is way too slow. This is on high and dangerously to slow to operate my vehicle in semi heavy rainfall. All my other vehicles are way faster. The 2025 hybrid is the unsafest to drive in rain. Online many have stated same issues. One owner mentioned coming here to report it.

Purchased this vehicle at a big dealership and driving noticed glaring across the windshield try washing not helping took vehicle to glass shop that told me windshield damaged from rock chips and was pitted all the way through and could not be repaired has to be replaced dealership refuses to replace even though it has glare in sunlight and impairs my vision when driving The custom relation manager said it would have to be shattered or cracked before they would fix she referred me to go to a tint shop to have inside tint installed to help with the glaring that’s a negative because that can make it worse for seeing this damage was not disclosed during sale so this falls under deceptive sale practice and this is bad business the vehicle has car fax report and was a commercial vehicle so this all makes sense why the windshield is as bad as it is also dealership told me to contact my insurance and deal with it that way this is a safety issue when driving and the sun makes it glare and hard to visibly see I want the dealership to take responsibility for this repair since it wasn’t disclosed to me at time of sale this purchase was done November 5 2025 it’s only been a couple weeks Also when I purchased this vehicle the first day of driving I noticed wrong tire speed rate was on car the vehicle calls for 95 H and it had 95 T which is a lower speed rate and is a safety issue as well on 11/11/25 I replaced out of my pocket and put four tires with proper speed rate for that vehicle I’m demanding to this dealership for reimbursement on that as well… Safelite glass did estimate on windshield and I purchased proper tires at big chief

While parking my car in a parking spot at work I backed up a few feet to straighten the car out, when I shifted back into drive and transitioned from brake to accelerator pedal the car suddenly accelerated at a high rate of speed and hit the building totaling the car. I did not push the pedal down to make it accelerate that fast. I received a concussion and a broken sternum. If this had happened in traffic or in an area where people were present it could have been much worse. Toyota had the on board computer analyzed, and they say that there is no fault of the car. State farm is in the process of picking the car up due to the total loss. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the incident.
