SummaryRivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may have been built with rear left-hand (LH) and/or right-hand (RH) upper lateral link fasteners that were over-torqued. Over time, this over-torquing may cause the components, including the bolt, mounting bracket and upper lateral link bushing to deform, resulting in a loose joint. The loose joint could result in a loss of wheel camber setting and a noticeable change in handling characteristics and tire wear. The customer may also notice increased noise from the rear of the vehicle. Rivian will replace both the LH and RH upper lateral links and their associated fasteners. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles.

SummaryRivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some 2022 R1T vehicles that may experience vibration and noise from the left rear floor due to movement in the hydraulic suspension lines. Hydraulic suspension line movement could cause the lines to vibrate and make contact with the left rear floor and HV Battery housing while the vehicle is in motion. This condition may result in a loud, noticeable noise from the left rear floor and may eventually result in damage to the hydraulic suspension lines. Damaged hydraulic suspension lines may result in a loss of hydraulic suspension pressure, resulting in noticeable suspension sag, increased body roll, and/or the vehicle may enter a reduced performance safe-state mode with limited speed. If the vehicle enters a reduced performance safe-state mode, there will be a notification displayed and a malfunction indicator lamp illuminated on the driver display. Rivian will install a vibration damper to dampen vibrations and will ensure hydraulic suspension lines are fully restrained or replaced if damaged. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles.

SummaryRivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may have been built with a low clearance condition between the left front frame harness and the steering column intermediate shaft. If the frame harness touches the steering column intermediate shaft and this condition persists over time, the vehicle may experience a wear-through condition of the wires in the frame harness. The wear-through condition, which has not been observed to date in any customer vehicle, would only result if the frame harness length is near the limits of the specification and the nearby harness that normally constrains the frame harness is misrouted. The potential wear-through condition may result in a loss of electronic stability control. If loss of electronic stability control occurs, the vehicle will enter a reduced performance safe-state mode and an "Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system malfunction" indicator light will illuminate on the driver display alerting the driver to have service performed on their vehicle. Rivian will install a cable tie to ensure clearance between the frame harness and the steering column intermediate shaft. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles.

SummaryRivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some 2022 R1T vehicles that may experience a wire harness clip becoming unseated under the front passenger seat. If this clip becomes unseated, there is a potential for this harness to make contact with the seat track during seat movement. While this potential contact has not been observed to date in any vehicle, it could result in damage to the wires inside the harness, which includes wires connecting to the seat belt anchor pre-tensioner, the seat-mounted side airbag, occupant classification sensor (OCS), and/or other seat functions such as powered movement. Damage to the occupant protection-related wires would illuminate the airbag warning light. If unrepaired, the damage may impact performance of the seat belt anchor pretensioner and OCS. If damage to the OCS wires results in a loss of the OCS, the system defaults to a 50% male deployment profile, deploying the passenger airbag if needed. The primary function of the seat belt and its retractor pretensioner would not be affected under the damaged wire condition described above. Rivian will inspect the front passenger seat body harness edge clip and wiring, reseating the edge clip as necessary. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles.

SummarySome 2022 R1T vehicles may have been built with the left side front brake caliper installed on the front right or vice versa. Incorrect brake calipers may result in damage to the brake hoses. Customers may notice noise resulting from contact of the brake hose with the wheel weight. If the condition progresses, the brake hose could rub through. To date, we have not identified a rub-through on any vehicle. If a rub-through occurred, the customer would see a malfunction indicator light, and, in very rare circumstances, may experience degradation in braking performance. Rivian will inspect both the left and right front brake calipers. If an incorrect brake caliper is installed, it will be replaced with the correct caliper. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles.

SummaryRivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may experience a rear wheel liner wire harness (electronic parking brake and wheel speed sensor) pulling out of the harness holder during full wheel droop, allowing the harness to be out of position and contact the inside of the wheel. If the harness rubs through it could cause a loss of electronic parking brake and/or wheel speed sensor for that wheel. This could result in decreased parking brake performance. This condition was discovered after the off-road portion of a media event. The customer will receive adequate forewarning of this condition from the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). Further, the vehicle will go into a limited performance mode and the electronic parking brake for the other wheel would still be able to hold a steep grade (20%) at GVWR. Installing cable ties will secure the rear wheel harnesses to the knuckle bracket to ensure retention. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and for the continuous improvement of Rivian vehicles.
