- #11647652March 11, 2025VISIBILITY/WIPER, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
The windshield of my 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn was damaged by road debris and requires replacement. However, the manufacturer (FCA US LLC/Stellantis) has failed to supply the replacement windshield, rendering my vehicle undrivable for an extended period due to their inadequate parts supply chain. This delay creates a major safety risk because the vehicle cannot be driven legally or safely without a windshield. In emergency situations, the vehicle would be unusable, and I have incurred significant financial harm due to its inoperability. A new vehicle should not have months-long delays for critical safety components. The OEM supplier (Carlex) has confirmed that the windshield is in stock and available to ship, meaning the issue is due entirely to FCA's failure to place the order or manage their supply chain. This demonstrates negligence in FCA/Stellantis' parts supply chain, impacting customers who require essential repairs. This issue is not an isolated incident but rather a symptom of FCA's failure to ensure part availability for new vehicles. A consumer should not have to wait months to obtain a necessary safety component for a brand-new vehicle. I request that NHTSA investigate FCA/Stellantis' failure to supply essential replacement parts in a reasonable timeframe as this represents a potentially systemic issue affecting vehicle owners.

The vehicle has always had an issue with turn signal canceling the left hand turn probably fails 30/40% of the time. There was a recall on this but requires a diagnostic to be performed. This has been completed twice and didn’t fail, but service writer and tech both witnessed it not working during driving test. Problem is StarParts won’t send parts to dealer because it passes their diagnostic. After complaints to dealer now StarParts wants to run test a third time the dealer and I agree the outcome will be the same. I sent email to StarParts regional manager (Benton Kuchefskil) twice and he refuses to respond. Basically the issue is they confirm it does not function properly but they won’t repair it because it passes their diagnostics. I have been trying to get this repaired since December

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Gauge cluster doesn't shut off, which kills the electrical system. This is likely due to a known issue from FCA as noted in Customer Satisfaction Notification 48A. FCA claims my truck is not affected even though it has the same Electronic Shifter Module, as well as is the same Model, Trim, Year... Just not the right VIN. The fix is a software update. They know the software in my truck is faulty, but won't update it in compliance with 48A. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Truck leaves me stranded if left not running for too long. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, I can reproduce it myself reliably... I have an appointment with the Ram dealer on 3/14/25. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No. I purchased the Truck [XXX]... the issues started within a few weeks. It has killed the battery 3 times now. Here is the existing notice 48A... My truck SHOULD BE ON THIS LIST! PLEASE HELP! More than once now the vehicle has applied its parking brake, the engine stalled, and stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road. It then required me to reset the emergency brake to “release”, return the shifter knob to park, and restart the vehicle in the middle of busy intersections!!

There is premature bearing ware on the E-Torque alternator. When taken into dealer was told not to drive the vehicle due to the fact the vehicle will eventually lose power and may be stranded. When taken in was not given a time line for when the part will be in. When looking on line noticed there is approximately 4200 parts on back order . Some individuals stating they have been waiting 3-4 months. While the vehicle sits in the drive way waiting for part still have to make payments and trying to find rides to work which is over an hour each way!!

When the vehicle is cold, after about a mile of driving coming to a four way stop, the vehicle stalled in the middle of a busy intersection and applied the emergency brake. An error message came up to service the electronic throttle control. A few miles later a message came regarding the battery saver and the battery light was lit. This came two days after being at the dealer for this issue where they found nothing! After doing a simple google search it appears to be a known issue.

Vehicle is currently at the dealer along with all paperwork of service dates and repairs. My truck is a 2025 dodge ram 1500 4wd. Current mileage is 3,441. Dealer has been in possession of the vehicle since 02/19/25. This is the third time my vehicle has been to Bayshore dodge of Baytown TX. Issue with the vehicle is in the brake system. When you apply your foot to the brake pedal it makes a chirping noise. Dealer has replaced the brake booster assembly and has lubricated the brake pedal and the pads and noise is still present. I received a txt today from the service advisor and she stated there waiting on Chrysler dodge engineers to further them with instructions on what to do next. Also the loaner that was given to me with 400 miles on it same vehicle 2025 Ram 1500 has same issue with the same noise coming from the brakes. I did report this to the dealer.

Vehicle stalled while driving. Causing sudden loss of engine power and related functions such as power steering. Cause was do to water intrusion from rear window leaking on to a control module RF Module. The leak is common in thousands of ram trucks over several years. They’ve attempted to address it for some years but not all. Having such an important piece of equipment under a window which they know is prone to leaking is irresponsible and negligent. Had I been at higher speed this could have been deadly.

Vehicle has shut off for no apparent reason when slowing and turning. This has occurred three times in the last year. This is very unsafe and I believe there are recalls for the same make/model vehicle built in prior years.

On 02/27/2025 my wife drove the 2021 RAM 1500 Limited Diesel truck and the engine certainly stopped running. It happened once around 2:10PM on the freeway I-5 Southbound near exit 189 in WA State. She was on the most inboard lane to prepare to take exit 189 with speed about 45-50 MPH. She was able to pull over to a safe location before the truck had completely stopped. Then she was able to start the engine and go again after 5-10 minutes. She drove for about 4 miles to her work place then the engine certainly stopped running again as soon as she pulled into the clinic parking lot around 2:30PM.

The contact owns a 2021 Ram 1500. The contact stated while reversing approximately 3 MPH into a parking space, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the steering wheel seized, and all four wheels locked up. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer who diagnosed and determined that the radio frequency module had been short circuited by water that had entered the vehicle either from the rear sliding window or the rear brake light assembly located at the rear and on top of the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,070.

At only 1600 miles on the odometer, I took the car in for oil service and ABS recall. Dealer inspected, said I was OK. They then Flashed the EBS module with new firmware. 4 day's later (less then 6 miles since dealer visit and arriving home after a brief 45mph, 6mile trip, the check engine light came on. As I was 2 blocks from my house, proceeded home. Engine was in limp mode. Suddenly the warning chime sounded, all warning lights came on. Stopped, tried to change gear selector to "R", car would not change gear. Could not select any gear, forward, reverse, neutral or park. Warning messages would not stop. Chime occurred about every 2 seconds, messages from "no forward breaking", No ABS, call dealer, no side blind spot, do not shift transmission. Car was on a hill, and would not go into park. Unsure about break's, so had to chalk wheels using rocks. Could not shutdown engine. Tried to press "stop" button many times, including holding the stop button in for 5 seconds then for 30 seconds. Engine still would not shut down. Finally after several minutes, and many presses, engine finally stopped. Car would not restart, and could not be moved out of the street. Finally a tow truck arrived and he pulled the emergency manual neutral strap, located by removing a panel by the left drivers side knee. Dealer has had the car for over a week, no loaner or rental car, and are very bad at keeping me up to date and returning phone calls. Last I heard was "waiting on approval and ordering parts". As I said, this is a brand new (2025) truck, with only 1600 miles on it.

My passenger side sun visor came lose where the arm attaches to the roof. I believe there are recall on certain 2019-2020 Ram trucks for this same issue. In researching on the internet, it appears this is a rampant problem on both driver and passenger Sun visors. Not being able to use the sun visors properly could significantly impact visibility not to mention potential electrical issues due to the vanity wiring being strained and possibly exposed. This is a major safety concern.

on 2 separate occasions, I experienced a low speed stall when pulling out and turning at intersections. After the stall, the vehicle placed itself in park and activated the emergency brake. In both instances, the stall occurred after I had partially entered an intersection, representing a safety hazard. In both instances, the vehicle was able to be restarted quickly.

The contact owned a 2022 RAM 1500. The contact stated that after leaving the dealer from completing the recall remedy for an unknown recall related to the fuel pump and while driving at 20 MPH, half a mile from leaving the dealer, the vehicle started to smoke and an abnormal sound came from the vehicle as the front windshield cracked. The check engine warning light illuminated. The contact then tried to make a U-turn and return to the dealer. The vehicle suddenly stopped and shut off. Other drivers started to honk in an effort to alert the contact that there were flames coming from the vehicle. The contact then saw smoke coming out of the front part of the vehicle and exited the vehicle. The Fire Department was on scene and extinguished the fire. The origin of the fire was unknown. The fire took place at the intersection of [XXX] . The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The vehicle was consumed by the fire.
