In April of this year my 2023 Nissan Rogue complete shut down while on the highway. Received a warning notification “Engine Malfunction Power Reduced Service Now”. The car would not drive over 10 miles per hour. The dealer claimed it was our error; stating we had hit a curb so not under warranty. We had not. We were charged approx $200 to fix. Now today, July, we have received the same warning and again it shut down. Had to have it towed to the dealer. They are saying it’s probably a sensor like last time. I asked about the current engine recall and was told they don’t have a fix and this would not cause these issues. These issues are a serious safety issue to just stop the car on the highway while diving!

I own a 2023 Nissan Rogue 4D 4Wd SI. The air conditioner went out. Took it to the shop and was told the coolant was low. No vehicle warning indicated. Made appointment with Nissan was advised the water pump malfunctioned. Internet inquiries resulted in multiple owners of this vehicle reporting catastrophic engine failures as a result of water pump failure. Some failures occurred suddenly with no warning lights from the vehicle. I contacted Nissan was advised no TSB’s at this time no recalls on this vehicle. Further advised they would inquire if the service tech will perform checks on the engine oil for metal debris and if they are checking the head gaskets for failure and warped heads. Very concerned this vehicle will fail and we will suffer a financial hardship. Nissan is aware of the issues reportedly involving 443,000 vehicles.

Buttons to scroll through dash menu sticking and not working due to spring issue. I noticed this was a common problem and make it difficult to go through the menu to check my tire pressure, manage my driver assistance such as emergency braking and blind spot, and any other systems related to setting up my driving experience.

Regards to the recall-I have had this/ my rogue back and forth to Nissan 6-7 times with the same complaints of noise, shaking, power decrease on the highway to where I had to pull over, a few times, engine mounts were swapped and still have the same problems. I called about the recall and was told I had to wait until there’s a remedy and I advised them that I feel unsafe driving it, they then told me they could take the car until there’s a remedy but only give me a kicks, which under normal circumstances would be fine however, I recently had hip surgery and can’t be low to the ground or be at a 90 degree angle. I advised the dealership of that and they stated they can’t give me a different car. I find this unacceptable as it’s not my fault with the engine repair , I can’t drive it as it’s unsafe and driving the kicks could possibly damage my hip, it’s not safe for me either way. I had no choice but to take the kicks however, it’s painful for me to drive and if it damages my hip, I feel Nissan would have to be held liable as the choices I was given are dangerous for me either way. I can’t remember the date I started bringing it in for the same issues but will approximate it below, it’s been since I bought it. Now this recall makes sense to why the car is not running right and why the mounts being changed did nothing! Can you please give me a different car that would be ok to drive with my hip.

Subject: Engine Recall (KR15) Ignored – Engine Noise Ongoing + Misleading Tailgate Lock Repair Offer – Lost Trust in Dealership I bought my 2023 Nissan Rogue brand new from this dealership two years ago. Recently, I’ve experienced multiple issues with both the car and the service, leading to frustration and loss of trust. ⸻ 🔧 1. Engine Recall Ignored – Still Making Noise I went in for a recall service months ago. The service advisor (named Well) only replaced a hose and said everything else was fine, even though I told them about a knocking noise from the engine. Now, the KR15 engine bearing recall has been issued, and the noise is still happening. The dealer continues to dismiss it, but I am seriously concerned about potential engine damage or failure. I am requesting a full, proper inspection and repair under this recall. ⸻ 🚪 2. Tailgate Lock – Misleading Advice and Pressure to Pay Around 3 months ago, I visited the dealer because my tailgate lock wasn’t opening, after I had broken the tailgate glass myself earlier. They told me: “Your lock is working fine. There’s just broken glass inside — once we vacuum it, everything will be okay.” But the next day, another employee told me: “No, your lock is actually broken. You need a full lock replacement for $893.65.” This surprised me because they had just told me the lock was fine. After I expressed concern, they negotiated the price down to $500 flat. Due to financial difficulty, I couldn’t proceed at the time. I’m attaching the invoice they gave me for proof. This change in opinion and pressure to pay left me confused and feeling misled. It added stress, and I now feel I cannot fully trust the dealership’s service recommendations. ⸻ 📌 3. What I Am Requesting: 1.A proper inspection and repair of the KR15 engine bearing issue and engine noise under the recall. 2.A review of the tailgate lock experience and explanation for the inconsistent service advice and price negotiation. 3.Clear communicatio

I bought my daughter a new 2023 Rogue SL in June-2023 at our local Nissan dealership in Concord, CA. On [XXX] the car's engine completely cut-out on [XXX] on a trip to L.A. Fortunately, my daughter was able to coast to the far lane and call AAA for a tow to the Valencia dealership. There the service rep told her that two other Rouges had also been towed off the Grapevine that day. They kept the car for a couple days and replaced the engine oil temp sensor which got her back home. On [XXX] the engine again completely cut-out while my daughter was crossing [XXX] on her way to work. More fortunate than the [XXX] incident, my daughter was able to coast off the bridge via an offramp in [XXX]. Once again AAA came to the rescue towing the car to the Concord dealership where it now sits for evaluation. The service department told me that they need to bring in a high-level mechanic to go through not only this engine but several other Nissan and Infiniti engines. Needless to say, both of these instances placed my daughter in extreme danger and for the grace of God she came through without injury. The nut and assembly came out of the oil pan when at a shop for a routine oil change. The repair shop had no knowledge of this problem until this happened (somebody else must have over-torqued it) and we, as owners, had no knowledge of the warning. As it is, I had no car until a new pan (still plastic) was ordered and installed with a "one-use plug." Is this the fix for the engine recall? Nissan needs to replace all of these inferior plastic pans.

When I first received the care it would either be sluggish or delay when accelerating. My CVT power reduced light started to come on at 44,000 miles. This happened for a total of 6 times before the dealership was able to diagnose it. The transmission was finally replaced at 55K miles. My car is now at 59,975 miles and not only has the CVT power reduced light come back on, but now the engine light has also appeared. I also having issues with the screen shutting down in the middle of driving. The dates of all these incidences have been ongoing from 6/2024 to 7/2025.

The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while waiting in the front passenger seat for her husband, she extended her left leg to depress the brake pedal and start the engine. Soon after starting the vehicle, the contact felt the vehicle slowly moving backwards while the vehicle was in park(P). While in a state of panic, the contact opened the passenger door and screamed to her husband that the vehicle was moving. As the vehicle continued to accelerate backwards while on an incline, the vehicle ran over a curb and eventually hit a tree, which stopped the acceleration. The contact stated that no warning lights had appeared on the instrument panel as the vehicle remained in park(P) during the failure. Several bystanders came to the contact's aid to assist her after the failure. The air bags did not deploy. The contact's right knee and right inner calf were bruised; however, the contact did not seek medical attention. A police report was not filed, and no damages were reported. Despite the failure, the contact's husband managed to drive away from the scene. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V457000(Power Train), which she linked to the failure. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The tires seemed to be faulty from the date of purchase of the vehicle. Within 3 weeks of ownership I had to replace one tire, at 6 weeks-repair a flat on another tire, and within 3 months replaced another tire (possibly two, can’t quite recall with all the issues this vehicle has had) and fixed another flat on the existing tires again. To date there are only 27,000 miles on the vehicle and the tires are well past needing replaced. However, they were terrible and extremely unsafe from the beginning. When I had inquired with the dealer, they stated that the manufacturer parts are not always top of the line unfortunately, same response with the battery, and suggested I replace with higher quality. These parts shouldn’t be unsafe or require replacement with safer, higher-quality, or better-performing ones from the manufacturer, especially not in a brand-new vehicle.

The battery was drained on several occasions starting just shy of a year of owning the vehicle, after recharging it would be fine and showed no signs that it needed replacing, until it was finally completely drained and wouldn’t start without being jumped in June 2025. The USM Configuration for the EEM recall was completed at this time along with a battery replacement. However, research suggests that issue could lead to draining of the battery, which the dealer denies was a possibility. These issues combined lead to all warning lights/lamps being produced on the display panel intermittently with a different message as to what the problem was each time. Turns out the only issue was the battery, according to the dealer. There have been several other issues I believe may be electrical related but unsure and when the taken to the dealership to have inspected was told the system just needed to be updated, however it has never fixed these issues, such as rearview backup camera screen black and not working intermittently and sometimes staying on while driving at higher speeds, screen in middle dash not responding to touch or buttons at random, doors automatically and unintentionally unlocked, doors not opening from the inside or outside on rare occasion, system in dash completely shutting down as if the vehicle was turned off and flashing before coming back up, vehicle not starting here and there while inside the vehicle or with key fob or app for remote start. All the random issues have been ongoing since the purchase of the vehicle, but told due to the dealer unable to recreate each problem, they are unable to actually identify what it is.

There are leaks at the corner of the top windshield through to the inside of the vehicle. Problem is reoccurring with rain and when vehicle is washed leaving the interior of the roof and side panel lining the windshield wet potential causing internal water damage to electrical components and creating mold and mildew buildup that is not yet visible. This creates an extreme health risk for the general population but especially for my child and myself who are highly allergic to mold and mildew. The outside of the vehicle appears to now be rusting due to this issue as well. This issue was first reported to the dealer within the first month or so of purchasing the vehicle in July of 2021 and taken in for inspection, along with several other issues, however was not noted on the service report for the technicians to inspect and was missed. Was officially inspected by the dealership in June 2025 and was told it is the roof rails that are leaking, this is a common issue, and likely was due to the vehicle being parked outside and probably had leaves trapped inside contributing to the leak, however this began within the first month of purchasing the vehicle new.

The Body Control Module System goes to sleep intermittently. Nissan reports that it is a manufacturer error but Nissan has 0 fixes or recommendations. They refuse to buy the car back. The BCM system is a safety hazard as my lights don't always come on and it is interconnected with other systems including the air bag system and safety restraint system. This is a huge concern to me as I don't want to have to worry if my restraints or air bags will work when needed. Also, I have had other issues related to infotainment system. It is a brand new vehicle and should not have all these issues causing me to question if I'll be safe. I have video proof of all issues.

More than an incident, I’m concerned it might turn into one. For the past few days, I’ve noticed something unusual (nothing serious for now) with the engine/transmission. When I shift to Drive, the engine seems to jerk a bit or takes a moment to engage the gear. There’s a slight delay, but it doesn’t feel normal. I’m worried because a friend who owns a Rogue had a similar issue, his car wouldn’t start, he took it to the shop, and they told him the engine needed to be replaced. My fear is that this might be the same issue and that it’s related to this recall. I just spoke to Nissan America, and they told me there’s still no solution and that I should call back between August 15 and 18 to check for updates. That seems like a long time for something that could potentially be serious.
