Vehicle 2018 Nissan Rogue SV only has 55,871 miles. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Yes, vehicle started jerking and I had to stop the vehicle on a main road and pull over to the side. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No.

POWER TRAIN
I was driving my car as normal, when I stopped for red light to wait the green light , The car could engage in proper gear . This is automatic transmission I had nothing to do with shift . The vehicle had a delay to engage in the next gear. In order the vehicle to move The RMP had to be raised until 4,000 rpm. on The high way the car couldn't go over 45mph. Each traffic light or stop sign I had to wait and push the acceleration pedal very slow otherwise the car would jump. Taking to the dealership they said it is transmission issue . I had to pay more than $7,000 just for the new transmission.

I have not had a wreck because of this, but it does affect the ability to drive this car at times. The HVAC blend door on this car will strip out and in the winter you cannot switch it from cold air to hot air. So you have to freeze while driving and if it starts sleeting or your front window starts icing up or fogging up you cannot defrost it because there is not hot air. This seems to be a common issue for Nissan Rogues as you can find many forums with people discussing this issue on different year models. I've tried using JB Weld plastic epoxy as some have mentioned to hold the motor from slipping in the hole but over time it breaks down and strips out again. The contact stated that the vehicle was at the dealer for a service appointment. The contact was informed that all four tires were worn. The contact was informed that all four tires needed to be replaced. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. On July 15, 23 was driving home from Dr appt n my rpm was going crazy, the engine was whining while I was driving rogue and didn't hardly move. I had it towed and mechanic said was totalled. Transmission is out. 3 mechanic said same was totalled. There needs to be recall on 2016 nissan rogue transmission!!!

SEAT BELTS, SUSPENSION, WHEELS
The shoulder strap cuts across my neck. While I'm driving I have to take one hand off the steering wheel to push it down, only to have it slide right back up across my neck. Every time I hit a bump or pot hole, the strap cuts into my neck. There will be a serious injury if I'm in an accident. Also, the suspension is so bad on this car that I feel every bump, and pot hole, and my head keeps hitting the headset. I was told the headset cannot be adjusted. My passenger has long legs. The passenger seat will not go back any further so he sits with legs bent in cramped position. The visor when pulled down is right in my eyes. If I brake suddenly and my head goes forward, it hits my eyes. I will be seriously injured if in a car accident. On turns, especially if there's even a little water, the back wheels of this car skid.

The contact owned a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 5 MPH and turning, the vehicle had shut off independently which caused the contact to get rear-ended. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle shutting off caused the crash. The air bags did deploy. The contact was not sure how fast the other vehicle was going at the time of the crash. A police report was filed. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to reach out to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 101,500.

Left and right rear wheel well rubber weatherstrip moldings have fallen off twice. The piece comes off at highway speeds with the mounting screw exposed. Recently, in a rain storm, the vehicle became momentarily unstable as the right side molding came off and was run over. Fortunately, the screw did not cause a tire puncture. I have noticed the weatherstrip missing on numerous Nissan Rogue's indicating that this is a common occurrence. Dealer has fixed as warranty issue both times. Reported to manufacturer as complaint.

While driving at various speeds, the vehicle independently decelerated with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the intake manifold had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired due to parts being on back order. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.

The trunk will open and as you are putting stuff in the trunk it will automatically start shutting and does not stop even though you are under it. Very dangerous. You have to quickly get out of the way. I don't know exactly when it started but it's been awhile.

Intake manifold part number 14001-7FH0C broke down while driving. Vehicle would not accelerate, when taken to mechanic, the code indicated that the intake manifold needs to be replaced. Nissan is aware of this and i have a case number with them. Case # [XXX] I was on the freeway when this happened, me and my wife were both very worried because there was no exit nearby as we were going up and down hills with other vehicles going around us. The component was inspected by a mechanic at Sun Devil Auto. I contacted the Nissan dealership and when they received the code error, they said I did not need to bring the vehicle in for inspection as that part is needed to be replaced. There were no warnings, no symptoms, and no warning lamps initially. This all happened as I was on a road trip from Gilbert, AZ to Williams, AZ. Then suddenly before I reached Payson, AZ it stopped accelerating. It took about 3 hours of driving this way maybe between speeds of 35-40mph back from Payson, AZ to Gilbert, AZ before the check engine light ignited and I was able to get the vehicle diagnosed at my nearest mechanic. I ordered the intake manifold and paid for it on 7/31/2023, but it has been on backorder because they stopped production on the original version and only want to sell an "updated" version of it as this failure known to Nissan USA Inc. The CVT transmission is believed to be the issue, and it is available to be inspected upon request. While driving at highway speeds or up even a small hill the car suddenly and without warning loose power and acceleration, not accelerating past 3,000 RPM. There are times when I’m either stoped at a stop sign or merging lanes and power ceases causing other vehicles to preform an emergency stop to avoid from hitting me or causing me to swerve to avoid a collision. The problem has happened multiple times. It has not been inspected by the dealership or any police or insurance agents. There are no warnings lights that appear associated to the problem. When an OBD scanner is plugged in no codes or anything alarming is shown.

Good evening, I’m not sure if I’m doing this correctly. The reason I’m writing this letter is because my wife was currently driving a Nissan Rogue 2016 SV until we purchased a new car this year. I cannot recall exactly when I started to hear the noise or feel my driver seat on my Nissan Rogue rocking back when accelerating and rocking forward when pressing the brakes normally. I verify my VIN number to see if there a was a recall for my vehicle because I thought Nissan sent an email pertaining to certain Rogues were having seat issues. I took my Nissan Rogue to Bill Seidle’s Nissan in Miami to get my regular maintenance and I ask them to check my driver’s seat. My Rogue had 85,056 when I took it to the dealer on 10/9/2023. The dealer stated the driver seat had excessive play because of the railings. This repair will cost $1,747.57 parts and labor. The price of the seat frame ranges from $1,200.00 to $1,400.00. I do not know what the threshold for a vehicle is to be place under recall list, however I do think, an investigation should start with the 2016 Nissan Rogue. There are blogs regarding the driver’s seat of the Nissan Rogue with the same problem that I have. I did reach out to Nissan customer support however I lost my case number. My concern is what happens if I get rear ended. How much does my weight affects the frame or the railing. Is the railing weak from the manufacturer and as a consumer I have to $1,700.00. Follow up from Nissan district regional manager was the same as the Nissan dealership. They refuse to help and have zero issues sending people off onto the road with an unsafe vehicle that can stall or stop at any time. There needs to be another class action lawsuit opened for all of the people who are still experiencing these problems because there are a ton of Nissan Rogue owners who have transmission issues that the dealership refuses to acknowledge and fix.

The vehicle feels like it is bucking or shimmies when accelerating from a stop. The vehicle lags when it accelerates on roads and highways from the time I step on the gas and lasts a few seconds. The vehicle sometimes feels like it's grinding when driving. The issues seemed to start happening around the 89,000 mileage reading. It is frightening to feel, that if need be, the transmission will fail, and cause an accident on roadways and highways. There are currently no warning lamps or indications of a problem when these issues occur.

Something to do with Heat - the drivers side heat does not work but the passenger does. This affects the defrosting of the windshield - cannot defrost with cold air in the winter. I have found several discussion boards detailing the same issues with cost to fix is over $3K.

Unknown , on November 23, 2022. I [XXX] hit a deer that jumped out in front of me while driving 45, 50 mph not one airbag went off and I hit the deer pretty hard. The deer had broken legs and it was all broken up, scared me because not one airbag not no nothing was there to help me. I then called 911. The police officer arrived. Asked me if I need an ambulance. I said no he said I was very lucky because the crash was bad and then the car was towed and it took three months before I got my car back and now that I got my car back, it’s nothing like it was before it went in. POWER TRAIN
The transmission is jerking going from first to second gear. The rpm's will rev up but I get no speed. This vehicle only has 96,000 miles currently. The problem started occurring around 90,000 miles and took our family a while to figure out what was happening. It started out as a slight jerking and now is becoming quite problematic. I have reached out to the Nissan manufacturer to file a complaint but have not got anything from them with the exception of an apology. As we research this is a very common problem and yet there has not been a recall on the transmission unfortunately. This is putting our family in danger as we have to visit our family in two different states and often do not have good cell phone reception due to the mountainous regions. Now we do not feel safe traveling with this vehicle. We expected to get many more miles on this vehicle as our last vehicle was a Murano and got well over 200,000 miles. We have read that there has been instances where the transmission was replaced and covered up to 120,000 miles. Customer service at Nissan corporate informed us otherwise and stated it was only for models up to 2010. Our extended warranty is now out and we are not covered for the power train currenly.
