AIR BAGS, SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
June 24, 2022 driving the vehicle at average speed 52-54 in highways when i pressed the brake it didnt respond, the automatic emergency braking did not activate or stop the vehicle. The air bag's also didn't were deployed, or engaged. The vehicle stop with the back section of the close vehicle in front. Thanks GOD, NOBODY WAS HURT PHYSICALLY.

The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, she exited the vehicle to place some items in the truck bed however, the vehicle started to rollaway at approximately 2 MPH. The contact stated that her husband jumped back into the vehicle and used the parking brake to stop the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V457000 (Power Train). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 195.

POWER TRAIN
While descending my steep (20% grade) driveway with the transmission in the manual mode and selected to 1st gear when the engine speed reached approx. 2500 rpm (15 mph) the transmission shifted out of gear, the check engine light illuminated, and "automatic transmission fault" appeared on the center display. Following this moving the selector lever to different gear selections did nothing except when placed in park. To get the transmission to respond requires turning the vehicle off and back on. Dealer has looked at the vehicle and did not find anything at this time. This has happened on multiple occasions, and could result in loss of control of the vehicle resulting in a crash.

The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the front driver’s seat reclined independently. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was unable to be diagnosed but various parts were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the dealer informed him that there was a Technical Service Bulletins for the seat failure however, there was no fix for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The manufacturer referred the contact back to the dealer for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 100.

The vehicle also showed a system fault error with the traction control and Forward Collision Avoidance warning lights illuminated. The failure occurred at various speeds. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who was able to obtain a code from the vehicle regarding the failures; however, the contact was not made aware of the exact error or cause. The contact owns a 2006 Nisan Frontier. The contact stated that the fuel gauge failed to accurately display the amount of fuel in the fuel tank. The contact stated that the failure was more evident once the fuel tank was at the quarter mark. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer confirmed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V075000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

AIR BAGS
The Air Bag Clock Spring Spiral Cable failed on 6-29-2022. Nissan replaced the component 6-30-2022 at a cost to me of 852.72. I spoke with several service technicians at this dealership and I quote... yep, this happens all the time with these clock springs. I called Nissan consumer affairs. My case number was 46685014. They said since this is covered under the 5 year 60 K miles that they would not cover the cost. My 2014 truck has 66K. I said to them I felt that this is a safety issue and there should not be a time or mileage limit attached to a safety issue since the airbags will not deploy and that this problem is occurring often, according to Nissan's own service technicians. Also, from one of Nissan's website "How often do Air Bag Clocksprings need replacement? The airbag clock spring is designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle. I feel this should be investigated by your agency.

POWER TRAIN
On June 29, 2022 My 2022 Nissan Frontier was parked drive in front of garage door. I arrived home for lunch and parked my cab farm tractor in yard under shade tree to keep cool while I was inside my home. When I came back to leave my tractor had Frontier truck sitting against front tire of my tractor, the truck had moved 25 yards for no reason. The truck had made slight contact with tractor bumper with tail light lense laying in yard, the trailer ball had also struck tractor tire and prevented hard impact. I went in garage and obtained key fob and found truck still in park. I tested truck and all functions were normal as they were 6 weeks ago when I purchased new. Key was not in truck and no one else had access in the 15 minutes I was inside. The parking brake was not used by wife when she parked, but it was in park. Mileage was 2550 . I someone had been standing between the two vehicles they could have been rolled over. I'm out over 500 bucks for tail light, I checked vin number, was advised no recalls. Wife is learning to use parking brake.

On October 29, 2016 my airbag light came on and stayed on. Took it to Jenkins Nissan of Leesburg FL. They charged me $95.00 to check the problem, then said it would be $800.00 to replace the module but if that didn’t work the next thing they could try would be $1,000.00, but they could not guarantee that it would fix the problem. Then my tire pressure light came on and stayed on about 3 years ago…same scenario with Jenkins Nissan… you pay us, but no guarantee that they can fix it. Then my horn stopped working about a year ago. Same scenario with Jenkins Nissan. I took my truck to another mechanic, everything is fixed for one price. The problem with everything was evidently connected. These issues in my opinion are safety hazards and should be recalled.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Occasionally the doors will not lock or u lock properly. On multiple occasions, when using they key fob to unlock the doors, you can hear them unlock, but the driver's side door will not. the other doors will be unlocked. I will sometimes have to lock/unlock multiple times or use they key to manually unlock. There have also been at least 2 occasions where the doors will be locked, but I was able to open a door, setting off the car alarm.

Air bag warning light comes on, stays on. Also, the "passenger air bag not on" light comes on, stays on. Took vehicle to a Nissan dealership (ABC Nissan, Phoenix, AZ) back in April, 2015, and they stated not sure what problem was. They "reset" the warning light? However, the same problem has returned. Feel unsafe driving vehicle with the airbag warning light coming on. Also, not sure if the driver side airbag is being also affected. I am unable to locate the "repair invoice" from ABC Nissan at this time to include with this report. My vehicle only has 43,000 miles at this time. It had around 33,000 miles back in April, 2015.

SERVICE BRAKES
The Actuator Assembly - Anti Skid has failed on my 2011 Frontier. My vehicle has cluster lights illuminated for ABS, brake, VDC, and SLIP. My independent mechanic pulled the codes and stated that they indicate the ABS module is going bad. This part has been discontinued by Nissan so I am not able to replace the part with a new part. The ABS system will not properly function which I would assume would be a safety issue and might impact more than the braking performance of the vehicle.

Transmission failed catastrophically after 1300 miles of use. Vehicle was towed to Nissan who confirmed multiple selinoids had failed within transmission. Vehicle is completely inoperable. Manufacturer has been unhelpful getting vehicle repaired. Manufacturer has history of supplies vehicles with inferior transmissions.

Can not shift vehicle from park, am being told it is the shifter assembly. The vehicle only has 54,000 miles on it. Have to insert blunt object into shift lock relay to be able to shift out of park.

This is known problem you refused to force Nissan to recall. At a minimum Nissan should have been required to notify owners of the problem. They did not. My radiator has failed allowing coolant to mix with the transmission fluid destroying the transmission. I have 96,000 miles on my vehicle. I would have gladly paid out of pocket to replace the defective radiator to save the transmission, but since I was not notified of the problem, now I have to potentially replace the transmission.
