I experienced a serious incident involving the Hands-Free Access function in my 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e. While unloading a rollable walker from the trunk, the trunk door unintentionally closed, striking me hard on the head. I have a mobility issue and use a rollable walker every day. This requires me to load and unload the walker into and from the trunk multiple times a day. The impact of the trunk door caused me to lose my balance, resulting in a fall onto a concrete surface. This fall caused me to hit my head again on the ground, exacerbating the injury. The unintentional operation of the trunk created a hazardous situation, especially given my physical limitations and frequent need to access the trunk. This unintentional closing of the trunk door has happened several times, creating an ongoing safety concern. I attempted to locate detailed information about the Hands-Free Access function in both the printed and online operator's manuals for the 2025 GLC 350e, but I could not find a description of this feature. This lack of documentation raises further safety concerns, as it prevents users from understanding the proper use, potential risks, or deactivation options for the feature. The incident caused a head injury and a subsequent fall, leading to a secondary head impact on the concrete. I am deeply concerned about the potential for similar accidents involving other users. I urge the NHTSA to investigate the Hands-Free Access feature on the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e for potential safety defects. Additionally, I request an inquiry into why this feature is not adequately documented in the operator's manuals, as this lack of information may put other users at risk. I would also like to see an option for this feature to be deactivated or disabled at the owner's will. This would allow users who find the feature problematic or unnecessary to turn it off, ensuring safer and more personalized use of the vehicle.

check engine light continues to turn on and off, response from dealer maintenance is this issue is temperature related and just keep driving, not sure how this makes for an effective or safe functioning of a warning light also seems like it can lead to unnecessary trips to and costs at the maintenance garage. This has been a multiple time issue since purchase of vehicle.

The sunroof glass blasted and shattered during a drive on an interstate highway. I was driving normally when I heard a loud sound like a tire burst or gunshot. Initially, I thought that my tire had busted. I took an exit and stopped to inspect the tires. I found them to be okay, but I was puzzled where the sound came from. I started driving again and observed that a lot of outside noise was coming, also there was a glass clinking noise so I stopped again to check. I found a hole in my sunroof and the shattered glass had fallen on the protective mesh cloth. That is when I realized that the loud sound was from this broken sunroof. It was something like that the sunroof had blasted outwards as the bump was going outside. Luckily, I didn't lose control of that sudden, loud sound and didn't get into a crash. Hopefully, the broken glass didn't fly and hit other cars.

Attention Assist System Suspended notification comes on randomly on vehicle while driving, rendering driver defenseless with regard to safety warnings that would otherwise be in effect, such as blind spot assist, attention assist, which are vital components for safe driving. This has happened on numerous occasions, most recently on 12/06/2024 while driving under destination route guidance. It has also happened when car was stopped to retrieve mail at residence mail box and, at other times for no apparent reason, while driving. Each time when engine was restarted the dashboard read 'System suspended' and continued to do so until car was returned to dealer. This vehicle was purchased on 12/21/2023 and with less than 350 miles began repeated problems with warnings, the first of which was "Check engine"on 02/02/2024, as car was running rough. Car was repaired(dealer determined cause was electrical/software error, fault code) yet before driving out of the dealership the same 'check engine' warning reappeared and vehicle had to be returned to service that same day for the same problem. Since that date in 2023, this vehicle has had numerous seemingly computer related issues that render it unreliable as to the safety devices this vehicle features that should always be maintained. On 03/21/2024 with less than 950 miles the fans remained running after shutting vehicle off and a message appeared stating" cooling system malfunction/reduced drive performance" with a red triangle on dashboard. Dealer determined the cause was 'SOFTWARE" At this point I am concerned that this vehicle is over engineered with computerized options that randomly fail. On another occasion the lights on one side may have been on overnight. The lights (courtesy lights) were on on the right side overnight in garage. My safety is continuously at risk whenever a warning appears.I replaced my GLK specifically to have Blind Spot Assist, PRE-safe, Attention Assist, Active distance assist and other features.

The contact owns a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC300. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds, the vehicle lost motive power struggling to produce enough power to propel itself on a slight incline. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the fuel pump. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, who confirmed the diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign 23V880000 (Fuel System, Gasoline), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure; a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 80,000.

I regret buying the car. It has a fatal flaw with a steering defect that makes the front wheels easily skip (crabbing suspension) when turning. These should be recalled. Examples 1. [XXX] 2. [XXX] 3. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

When stopped at a light or stop sign, Vehicle will Jerk forward as If hit from behind. Very surprising and dangerous. Very intermittent. The has happened many times. Vehicle will at times have rough downshifts. Ie. overdrive (9th) to (8th) gear. also intermittent. This has happened multiple times. Vehicle was taken to the dealer twice for a total of 50 hours in the shop. The first service time no problem was found, diagnostics did not show problem. Aug 22 to Aug 30, 2024. The second service time Oct 3 to Nov 14, 2024. Problem was duplicated by the technician. Vehicle diagnostics still did not show a problem. Technician replaced the transmission valve body, did various software checks at the request of the factory. The engine control unit was then changed based on data supplied to the factory. At this point technician checked the car and dealers believes car is fixed. Vehicle has been returned to us on Nov 14 2024. We have requested the vehicle be bought back or replaced.

- #11624989November 13, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The reverse sensors are faulty, causing the GLC300 model to randomly auto-brake while going in reverse. My driveway is flat and long with no significant grade changes and this has occurred at another location as well with similar topography. There are no obstructions present nor any significant grade changes, the vehicle auto-brakes not everytime, happens out of the blue once every 8-12 tries. My new vehicle has been checked out by Mercedes-Benz of Cary service department 2 times, since buying new April 2024. They brought my car out to my house themselves and experienced the auto-braking first hand. They brought out a second GLC300 and it auto-braked as well. The technicians have calibrated, and updated the sensors to no avail. My driveway is long and flat with a slight slope at the end, but it happened to me at my friends house who's driveway is all flat. This is a serious safety risk for me and all passengers. It makes everyone tense not knowing next time it may happen. No matter the revering speed, or if you keep your foot on brake lightly as you are backing up, the glc300 randomly will auto-brake without any warning lights or sounds. The tires screech, it locks up in an instant. It is frightening and we are scared to anticipate the next occurrence or risk bruising our body or head injury. Even when I manually over-ride the rear and/or surrounding sensors, turning them off temporarily as I back up in reverse- the car will still auto-brake. Mercedes has yet to agree with me that this is a safety issue and on 11/8 asked me to pick up the car. I refused until the issue is fixed. They still have my car in service, it has been 3 weeks since 10/18/24. This was the 2nd time I brought in in for this issue since I bought new March 30 2024. I called corporate to ask them to buy back the car if the issue cannot be fixed, they have yet to respond.

Car has software issue putting drivers at risk until the update is provided. Response to problem from manufacturer is to drive the car or wait until such time as a solution is developed. this is the 3 issue in less than a year the car's fuel uptake system is interrupted putting drivers at risk when pulling out into traffic or needing normal acceleration expected from a normally functioning car. How long will Mercedes get away with this before someone is killed

The rear camera system becomes inoperable when car is first started and put in reverse, then all cameras remain interoperable while driving until sometime later after the car is turned off. This problem occurs intermittently. The symptoms match those described in Mercedes recall campaign 22S20, NHTSA Campaign 22V232. The recall names Mercedes Benz GLC300 but my vehicle’s VIN number does not appear in that campaign. Can it be added?
