- #11565592January 15, 2024TIRES:TREAD/BELT, TIRES
After approx 24,000 miles and 18 months, I was told all four tires needed to be replaced and were down to between 3/32nd and 2/32nd tread left on all four tires, despite regular rotations, alignment, and overall car maintenance. These were purchased at Mavis in East Brunswick, NJ in May, 2022 and we were notified of the tread wear after a regular maintenance appointment at a Mercedes Benz dealer. I notified Mavis and came in for them to measure tread depth, which was found to be in the unsafe range. Mavis is only offering me warranty coverage, based on mileage used, of a total of $360. Obviously, this is a manufacturer defect since all four tires wore so quickly and evenly. I was told there is a 40,000 mile warranty.

I prchased used with no visible damage to the windshield. In the inclement weather for no apparent reason my windshield began to crack as I was driving the vehicle. I pulled over as soon as I could. The crack stoped and I called the Mercedes Benz manufacture to no avail. I decided to research to see if this is common and the article says, "that the 2014 Mercedes Benz" windshields are known to crack in extrem cold and hot conditions. The windshield has continued to spider and crack in different direction. I feel threathened at this point and featful for my life that this will implode in my face while driving. I did in good faith reach out to someone.

Our vehicle, VIN [XXX] , is a 2019 Mercedes C300 2 door coupe. We purchased it as a certified preowned vehicle from Mercedes of Bellevue in Washington State last March 2023. We noticed soon after taking possession of the vehicle that the front driver and passenger seat belts were not retracting into the resting place when not in use. We took it to the service department. The service team there told us that it was an "inherent" problem with a series of vehicles including ours and the there was nothing they could do to fix it. We didn't accept this explanation and returned the car to the dealer service department with the demand that it be fixed. In the meantime, I found a NHTSA recall # 21V-032 that addresses the exact issue for this car model within the production dates that it falls. However, a search of the vehicle VIN [XXX] comes up with zero Unrepaired Recalls. This must be an error. As stated above, the symptom that the vehicle is demonstrating is exactly that described in the recall notice. Given this data, we have pause about driving the vehicle until the seat belt is repaired. The dealer is working on a repair with assistance from Mercedes Engineering. According to them, the prescribed repair in the recall notice does not apply since this vehicle doesn't have the mentioned "damping foam". I am requesting support from the NHTSA to make sure all Mercedes vehicles that suffer this deficiency are included in the recall. My coils are faulty and needing to be replaced, but not part of the existing recall for C63s coils. On the message forums for C63s I’ve come across a lot of owners that are having issues not being part of the recall. Campaign No. 2017060008.

Front drive shaft on 2015 Mercedes Benz C-300 severed from u-joint(s) on highway, causing catastrophic failure of components and significant damage to front exhaust, catalytic converter, and heat shields. Damaged observed on transmission and/or engine block. The approximate cost to repair was $6,500.00 in parts and labor. Failure of subject component(s) resulted in loss of some control and acceleration. Prior to failure, observed increasing vibration from center of vehicle while exceeding 65 mph but no more than 80 on highway. Audible clunking noise when shifting from "park" or "neutral" to "drive." No warning lamps and/or messages regarding failed component(s). Vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, and/or insurance representatives. Dealer provided inspection and findings.

- #11561434December 22, 2023SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN
The ESP®, or Electronic Stability Control system can put the car into limp mode unexpectedly. Say you are driving on route 66 going 50 mph. The ESP system can turn off if a wheel speed sensor or yaw sensor is on the way out. This causes the car to suddenly dramatically brake and limit speed to 5 mph on the highway. Risk of high speed rear end collision and mortality to the driver.

There is a short rubber fuel line/hose in the engine compartment that is attached with compression clamps; the hose connects the fuel line from the gas tank to the high pressure fuel pump. When it gets cold outside (below ~40 degrees Fahrenheit) the clamps loosen a bit and the hose will leak gas The entire interior smells like gasoline, really bad.

- #11560793December 18, 2023SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While driving past, close proximity or even going 30-40mph on a local road or even 60-70 on a highway the break assist function will repeatedly beep, and most times it will stop my car for me. This occurs also, when there are no cars near me! It’s very sudden, and unpredictable. on more occasions than few, if i’m driving in the middle of a 3- lane road, and cars are stopping in the far right lane, or making a turn my break assist will malfunction and automatically break. Multiple occasions I feared that a car may rear-end me. It happens alot. Very scary. This has been occurring for more than 2 years.

My brake line is corroded and needs replacing at a cost of $3500.00. I have an extended warranty on the rear subframe due to a recall; however, Mercedes will not cover this costly repair. I was informed by service advisor that I could still drive car with extra caution, as there are no leaks.
