Engine light would come on & off. Took my care in to be inspected - they determine i need a new motor -due to defect in motor design leaking antifreeze into cylinders. Not cover by warranty because i was 2 months out of the 6yr. period with only 47,000 miles on it. They will do nothing for me except charge for a new motor. My understanding is this 4 cylinder w/turbo motor in Ford/Lincoln has a known design flaw that they hope no one finds out about.

I have previously filed complaint on this vehicle with no satisfaction. I have a Lincoln 2015 MKZ. This vehicle has a low front end clearance which I believe to be a serious safety concern. The front bumper is only 7 1/2 inches off the ground. Most cars are at least 9 plus inches off the ground. This car can not traverse any type of graded driveway or access road. The front bumper constantly hits the ground which inevitably can and has caused damage to the vehicle. I.E. damage to wheels, radiator, lights, engine not to mention the bumper itself. I have contacted Lincoln and they are indifferent to my complaint. This should have been rectified years ago but was ignored by Lincoln. The company probably should have provided all owners of record of a Lincoln MKZ with a factory authorized lift kit which could have raised the bumper at least 1 1/2 inches. I have contacted Lincoln several times but they ignore my complaints. I believe there should be a recall to rectify this problem. This is certainly a potentially dangerous situation. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Breaks suddenly stopped working. Lights on dash including ABS came on. Car would not stop until pedal pressed almost to floor. Almost as quickly it started working again and our mechanic can not reproduce it. There a number (17) of other complaints describing the problem with more drama. (See [XXX] for one) Incident happened three times, twice going forward and once backing up. Please recall this quickly before someone is killed. - #11533555July 20, 2023UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Driving down the road in my black MKZ Hybrid -the red triangle sign came on and I had 6 seconds to safely get off the road, the vehicle then was non responsive. The start button was flashing and would not completely turn off. Towed to a local Ford dealer- I was informed today that the hybrid battery's temperature was 190 degrees then stated 145 degrees. The air temperature at the time was 118 degrees. Ford dealer stated they did not know what to do about it - it's just too hot. My concern is my safety and that of others were put at risk due the vehicle shutting down automatically. The temperature of the lithium battery at the time of shut down (190-145 degrees) risk of explosion? Failure of Ford not to "look" into the issue or provide me with a loner car - The car was purchased to drive in all weather - I would think that the engineers would have tested the vehicle in various weather and temperature - it works in weather -5 below zero.

- #11533180July 19, 2023SERVICE BRAKES
There have been several occasions now where I go to brake and there is no brake! My foot goes all the way down to the floor. This can happen at a steady speak of 50 or at 10 miles an hour. It is very scary and very dangerous. I have had to use my emergency brake to stop the car. I have had my brakes changed and "bled" several times. I am concerned this is going to cause a catastrophic accident. In researching this issue, I have seen that this is a common issue with the Lincoln MKZ. In fact prior years have already had a recall. Please, remedy this issue.

There were original rear struts on the vehicle. When we purchased it. We replaced the rear struts about 4 years ago. Drivers rear was clunking and leaking. We are in need to replace again now. Clunking but also bouncing around which scared me terrible on Highway. I just don’t think in 9 years and 85,000 (approx) miles. You should have to have three different sets. I think there is a problem with the drivers struts.

There have been several occasions where I am cruising at a steady spread and when I try to brake, the pedal just goes down to the floor. It's as if I don't have any brakes at all. I've had my brakes and fluid checked and all is good. This is a very scary and dangerous situation. Doing my research I see that this is a common problem. How is there not a recall on this? This could be a fatal situation. Please advise.

I drove my 2015 Lincoln MKZ in to my driveway which is not steep grade and the front bumper hit the drive way and ripped the bumper. This car has very low front end. I called Lincoln up and complained about this low bumper problem. Lincoln customer service just blew me off. They acted like I was first person ever to complain. When I told them that You Tube Video has this problem listed they ignored me. This would not be a big deal if the bumper was 2 piece and all that had to be replaced was a bumper guard but the replacemrnt bumper covers the whole front end. Replacement bumper runs between $500 - $700. Labor to replace bumper runs from $500 - $1000 depending on shop. This is outrageous. Lincoln knew of this problem for years and did nothing to fix the problem. The least Lincoln should do is replace the bumper at no charge and provide me with discounted installation charge. What can I do? I covered the crack with tape so it would not spread but this looks terrible!

This vehicle already has a TSB reported, TSB 22-2229. There is a known defect in the manufacturing of the engine design. The design is failing and allowing coolant to run into the engine cylinders. This puts drivers at risk, not knowing when the engine may completely fail while driving it. The engine heats up quickly when the coolant is drained into the engine (default design), instead of around the turbo engine. There is no coolant left in the reservoir, thus possibly causing an engine fire. I've had a diagnostic check on the vehicle at Blue Springs, Mo Ford. They report that the engine will need to be replaced. The service engine light comes on, but the code read doesn't come up as the engine. It is a spark plug/coil pack needed for replacement. This has been done. I've had the engine overheating warning come up. I've had to add antifreeze to the reservoir several times. These warning lamps and messages have been coming up for the past 2 weeks. The car starts off rough, with some misfires in the idle. I have had it not start at first and I will have to try again several times.
