Saturday July 8 2023 heard crackling sounds like static coming from approximately 3/4 across the front console. Turned off radio, disconnected phone. Sounds continued, with no connection to road conditions or speed. Sunday July 9 2023 sounds continued intermittently. Monday July 10 2023 crackling sounds continued until a loud pop was heard. Windshield cracked at approximately 3/4 across the front and center of vertical (mid passenger vision). Very small center dot with three lines - looks like a bowtie or cat whiskers - intersecting at the dot, with a horizontal and two diagonal lines. Crackling sounds have since ceased. No impact to the windshield was detected prior to the crackling sound beginning.

On 7/8/23 I noticed the paint on my 2021 Kia Telluride peeling off. After some research, the peeling of the paint on Kia cars seems to be prevalent in several Kia models. I've made an appointment with the dealer for next week, 7/17/23. At this point, the vehicle has not been inspected regarding the peeling paint by the manufacturer, police, insurance representative, or other business. I've inspected my Telluride, and as of today, 7/10/23, the paint has only peeled off of the read door in one spot. I will include a picture.

On our new 2023 Kia Telluride with less than 1500 miles, the windshield cracked from the bottom drivers side across the windshield to the passenger side. The glass is measurably thinner than any other windshield I've ever seen before. Our safety was put at risk because we didn't know if the windshield was going to cave in on us or not - you could see how thin the glass is. We were not able to get in contact with our dealership. They did not return calls. We reported to Kia. Kia has had windshield recalls for this same exact problem for the 2020 model year of Telluride. We feel we are experiencing the same issues with cracking windshields - and very thin glass. Kia told us we had to replace the windshield with OEM glass ($800 more) or our warranty would be void. We had to replace it with Safelite Glass - and OEM - for a total of $1335 - on a brand new car.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS:HIGH/LOW BEAM DIMMER SWITCH
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact stated that while driving at night at an undisclosed speed, the high-beam headlight switch was activated; however, the high beam headlights failed to operate as designed. The contact was concerned that the failure could cause an accident because the illumination was not adequate while driving at night. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

Small rock hit windshield at normal driving speeds. The next day it was like a spiderweb and hardly a chip the day before. Kias have a class action lawsuit in regards to windshield quality.

I had service on my vehicle on 6/1/23. Now my vehicle has lost complete power several times while driving. The vehicle shuts completely down and the hazards or no other function works when this happens. I lifted my hood and open the positive battery box and the vehicle turns back on. When this happens the rear seats automatically move and fold on their own. I have witness to this event happening on 3 occasions. I reported this issue to kia on 6/30 and I have gotten no response from corporate or the dealership service department where the service was performed.

On two separate occasions within 2 weeks of each other, I lost complete power of my new 2023 Kia Telluride while driving. The first incident occurred on June 22nd, 2023 with only 2000 miles on the car I received a message of an issue with the Engine Control System, along with the Battery warning light and Check Engine Light. Shortly afterwards the entire display panel started transmitting every error message on the screen while I was driving. As I was turning left at an intersection onto a lesser busy street, I started to lose power steering and lost complete power as I pulled my car to the side of the road. The second incident occurred while on vacation with my family on July 1st, 2023 with approx 2600 miles. The dashboard displayed the same Engine Control System message along with the Battery warning light and Check Engine Light. Shortly thereafter all of the error messages displayed on the display screen and as we pulled over to the side of the road, we lost complete power. The car was serviced by Kia Schaumburg on 06/27/2023 and I was told the electronics module was causing the issue and had to be reset and the problem was corrected. The safety of myself and my family is put at risk both times. The first time the car started losing power steering while turning which could have resulted in a collision. The second time, my family was stranded while on vacation in a semi-remote location. In both cases the car lost full power within minutes of pulling over and not even the hazards would work, putting us at risk of collision by passing traffic.

SUSPENSION
The Rear Self Leveling shock absorbers are making a clunking noise and appear to have failed. Very stiff suspension which causes handling problems. Kia dealers are unresponsive in fixing this issue.

I was pulling out of a parking lot going about 3 mph. There were no other vehicles around and the windshield cracked right in front of me. I called my insurance and explained to them the strange event that just took place, and they said that it would be a deductable of $500.00 or around $1000.00. Reasearch has proven that quote. The next day I went out to the car to start it up so the kids wouldn't be so hot. I watched the 6 inch crack from the day before, turn into a a 3.5 foot crack. Kia dealer says it's a rock chip so outside of warrenty. There is absolutly no way that a rock hit my windshield with no other cars around, and me going 3 MPH. I contacted Kia customer service, and was told that the dealer said it was a rock chip, therefore it was out of warrenty. At this point I am so terrifed to put my kids in that car, because look what happened when going at very sluggish speeds. On top of all of that, the replacment windshields are also prone to cracking, so all of us Telluride owners are between a rock, and a hard place. Someone, please look into this and force Kia to make it right to all of us who just bought a new family vehicle. The windshield is fragile. A small rock hit the windshield at highway speed and started to crack. This is the 2nd time this has happened. 11,000 miles on the vehicle and getting the windshield replaced for a seconded time. KIA needs to make the glass alot stronger to hold up to a minor rock chip.

A minor rock hit the windshield and caused a 1 inch crack approximately. It would have been small enough to fill in, however, the next day it spread to more than half the windshield after being in the sun. Second row drivers side captains chair seat belt buckle assembly has been broken side March 2023. Vehicle is brand new 2023 Kia Telluride. Captain's chair has been unusable since sealt belt does not latch (click into place) which is a major safety hazard. Kia claims part is on Nationwide backorder.

Had my seven year old Granddaughter in my vehicle and was momentarily distracted and the traffic in front of me stopped for geese crossing. I was in cruise control and my forward collision warning system failed to work! No accident as I took the ditch. KIA America Inc. had a voluntary recall for this problem and I took it in to my dealer and they reprogrammed the system. Did not work so I called KIA to see when there would be a recall? They told me to take my vehicle to a different dealer? As this is a safety issue I am concerned and even though they acknowledged it is a problem they seem to not want to do anything!

Backed out of my driveway went about 100 yards down the street to make a left turn. I pushed on the brake and every possible warning went off. ABS light, traction control, collision warning, error messages kept coming on. The brake pedal went to the floor. I continued to pump the brakes. Tried to put the transmission into manual mode and downshift. That didn't slow us down. Still continued to pump the brakes. Had to make a right turn or jump the curb into a park. The steering was hard to turn. Pulled the adaptive electric parking brake. Nothing. We were going slightly down hill so had a little speed, but the car came to a rest and the brakes worked. All the other warning lights and error messages kept going off. Turned off the car and started it again. Drove home and it has set there for 3 days. The dealership is always closed on the weekends. I have lost complete trust in this vehicle and in the manufacture.

2021 Kia Telluride. Driving home from work 6/8/23. Small crack developed in the windshield on passenger side lower corner. Has spread quickly across windshield. Left message with service department of local KIA dealership in Murfreesboro Tennessee inquiring about Kia "Customer Satisfaction Initiative" concerning windshield cracking. No call back after 8 days. Left email on KIA Corporate Customer Service Website on 6/12/23 inquiring about windshield "Customer Satisfaction Initiative". No response from Kia after 6 days. The Kia Web Site claims they will respond to inquiries within 48 hours but have not. Because this defect affects driver visibility I would consider this a safety issue.
