ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
For the third summer in a row, this vehicle has had a "hybrid/battery/engine" issue which has caused the vehicle to stop in the middle of traffic, specifically at start/stop intersections during high traffic times - the first time was on a vacation road trip about 600 miles away from home, the second time was in town while we had our three kids in the vehicle, and this most recent time thankfully I was alone driving home from work in rush hour. The vehicle shuts off, battery and check engine lights are illuminated and the vehicle must be stopped, restarted, and turned back on in order to move away from the middle of traffic. This is the third incident of this happening with Jeep warranty covering the first two repairs due to it being the hybrid/battery system. I am now waiting for two weeks before the dealer can even diagnoze the issue to undrstand what our next steps might be.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
The vehicle accelerated without the pedal being depressed from a fully stopped position. The vehicle struck a tree and was severely damaged and a total loss. The data from the black box could not be retrieved by the local Jeep dealer. Insurance and law enforcement officials did not want to pursue investigation. Vehicle was released to insurance company for salvage so total loss claim could be processed and paid.

SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
With only 4811 miles on our Jeep Wagoneer, it had TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE causing my wife to drive thru a stop sign avoiding pedestrians. I had it towed by Jeep roadside assistance to St.Clair Chrysler Jeep in St. Clair MI. on [XXX]. A week later on [XXX] I was told to come pick up the car and that it was repaired. The porter went to move the car and again TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE. The vehicle was again repaired and when I went to get it, I asked if the brakes were guaranteed to work and no one would say that they were. This car model has a lot of brake issues and I can't have my family drive in it anymore, I traded it in on another new car but lost $14.000 in depreciation do to brakes. This is not my fault. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
This vehicle has presented a myriad of electrical problems as follows: 1. Glitching in the central display panel. Slow to turn on, flickers at times. 2. ALM (Active Lane Management) system randomly and suddenly turning off. Often unable to turn the ALM system back on while driving. The same issue with the Adaptive Cruise Control system. 3. Vehicle sensors showing "unavailable" on the driver's display screen. 4. Vehicle was completely dead due to both batteries dying (main and auxillary) 5. Engine ran hot after a short period of time. Temperature reached as high as 253 degrees, then the engine overheating sign came on, followed by Low Oil pressure notification. Oil pressure dropped to at least 21 psi 6. There were no warning messages prior to any of these incidents occurring. 7. Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) would randomly engage for no apparent reason. 8. ALM unavailable service required message would randomly show up. 9. Front passenger screen would not come on, when the screen had seldomly been used. 10. The engine jumps every so often while driving. This is unrelated to the engine automatice stop feature when the vehicle is stopped. 11. A/C system is faulty. The "auto" button does not automatically adjuster the temperature or the fan speed when it is in use. I've had this issue since I purchased the vehicle. Reported to dealership more than once and it's still unresolved. 12. Driver's side window will remain stuck in the down position after window has been lowered. You have to turn the vehicle off and on for this to reset and window starts to operate again. Dealership cannot duplicate and this has happened more than once. 13. Stop/start not ready engine temperature too low message would randomly pop up at times. 14. When engine cranked, various dislay signs appeared on the driver's panel and would not allow me to use the brakes. 15. The vehicle has been in the shop since July 11th. No loaner vehicle was provided. Incidents cover various dates.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that while approaching a stop with his foot on the brake pedal, the vehicle shut off once slowed down to 1-3 MPH. As a result of the failure, the contact was forced to restart the vehicle, with the power steering and check engine warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) was reset, and the software was updated. Despite the repair, the contact stated that the failure returned immediately while driving the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 150.

The vehicle is stalling. The vehicle has been to the dealership three times and they cannot figure out the issue. The vehicle has only been inspected by dealership. There was no warning lamps or message of this issue. The issues started two weeks after we purchased the vehicle.

The first incident occurred when the passengers side sun visor bracket broke loose. This was not a major incident as it did not affect the driver. The second incident occurred when the drivers side sun visor bracket broke when my wife was driving. The visor fell in front of my wife and was dangling by the wires. It almost caused her to hit another vehicle as it was right in front of her and she was trying to move it out of the way. With both visors breaking, this appears to be a defect in the design that could cause a major crash if it broke at the wrong time.

For the last six months (since Dec. 2024) my jeep has randomly stalled out at traffic lights or won’t restart immediately after having just driven it. Sometimes when it stalls out while driving into a traffic light it will restart without a jump but then the check engine light is on for a few drives then eventually turns off. This happens once or twice a month and typically requires a jump to get the car started. I have had the battery, alternator and started checked multiple times. A jeep dealership has reviewed and could find no issues with the car. The safety issue is being stalled out at a light or anywhere on the road randomly puts myself, my passengers and other drivers at risk

While driving at highway speeds, the jeep suddenly downshifted, revved up a ton, and threw overheat and low oil warnings. The head gasket likely almost blew, we were very close to losing control of the vehicle. After googling, I discovered that this is a problem that Jeep is aware of: dozens of reports online over the last two years, and the dealerships have been buying them back and claiming it's just a thermostat problem rather than issuing a recall for what is obviously a very serious design flaw and safety issue.

The E torque system needs replaced and the part has been on backorder for months. The dealer has no idea when the new part will be available and may be up to 7 months. The vehicle is loud which is what prompted us to take it in for evaluation. We had an incident where the vehicle while in reverse and it abruptly stopped and the emergency brake was on. It would not let me move my vehicle without turning it off and back on to allow me to continue reversing.

While driving at lows speeds approaching a stop light the vehicle will just shut off and shift into park. I have to hit the brakes, make sure its in park, and hit the start button, it restarts then doesn't do it until randomly later it does it again. There is a check engine light on.

We were driving and approaching a stop light at a major intersection when the vehicle stalled out. We heard it sputter at first and then cut off. We tried multiple times to restart, but to no avail—just kept sputtering. This is the second time this has happened. The first time was also reported to NHTSA, and I was driving alone and ascending a Colorado mountain when it stalled out. Thankfully, both times, we were able to remain safe; however, this is a huge problem as both times we were on major roads.

Vehicle suddenly lost power and overheated while driving. Had to get towed to the dealership. Dealer advised that the thermostat had failed, which seems to be a common occurrence with these vehicles. Thermostat was replaced but continued to overheat, leading the dealer to suspect the engine was warped and in need of replacement.

While driving my 2023 Jeep Wagoneer on 12 Jun 2025 I stopped at an intersection preparing to make a right turn. When I took my foot off the brake and prepared to accelerate, the vehicle abruptly turned off and lost all power and control. The instrument cluster said to shift to park in order to restart. I was able to restart the vehicle and drove it immediately to the Jeep dealership service. The dealership immediately scanned it, but was unable to diagnose the issue. We drove the vehicle back to our home and are now afraid to drive it due to concern over the vehicle shutting down while driving.

in December 2024 i received a check engine light with a locked code that disappeared after a short distance. The vehicle would not auto start from the key and we thought it was a battery .In February 2025 while on a trip i received a warning light for power steering fluid we went to a parts store and topped up the power steering fluid .on [XXX] i was driving the vehicle at 55mph while i had my [XXX] and [XXX] in the car as well as heavily pregnant along with my [XXX] grandmother . i pulled away from a traffic light and the dash board lights lit up completely check engine, stability, abs, emergency brake ,traction ,crash detection . I went to use the brakes and to change lanes and while doing so i lost brakes and power steering causing me to have to use a grass verge to bring the vehicle to a stop as the brake pedal was to the floor and the emergency brake was not engaging even though the light was lit on the dash. had i not pulled into grass to stop i would have been in a catastrophic accident. i took the vehicle to 2 Chrysler dodge jeep ram dealerships who could not fix the vehicle so took it to a 3rd dealership who were able to get brakes and power steering back into the vehicle . upon trying to pick up the vehicle within 24 - 48 hours i received a check engine light for brake pressure sensor the dealership have opened 6 star cases with jeep regarding this issue and just keep storing the code and returning the vehicle to me. when i take the vehicle to a auto zone or advance parts store with a check engine light the code is stored 4+ times with a red banner advising customer to not drive vehicle due to possible brake failure . I am 4 months into not having my vehicle and still have a check engine light for brake pressure sensor which has now been changed 4 times as well as the whole brake system. jeep are not assisting with anything other than keep telling the dealership to change the pressure sensor and re bleed the brake system. 2022 Jeep Wagoneer 5.7 Etorque On [XXX] at approximately [XXX], The Jeep Wagoneer was traveling northbound on [XXX] at an estimated speed of 45 MPH, the vehicle suddenly stalled and lost power. The vehicle came to a complete stop, and the emergency brakes were activated. Despite multiple attempts, the vehicle would not restart, and the instrument panel was intermittently turning off. As a result, the vehicle became inoperable, causing a road hazard and impeding traffic. Officer McKinnon (#334) from the Merced Police Department (Incident #[XXX]) was dispatched to the scene to assist with traffic control and manage the situation. The vehicle was later towed to my residence and subsequently serviced at Razzari Jeep in Merced, CA. The vehicle had 100 mile of fuel remaining in the gas tank. At approximately [XXX] [XXX] Jeep Wagoneer series 2 suffered a complete brake failure without warning. This happened by the grace of god just after exiting the highway in the town of Clinton NJ. I was able to slow car by using ebrake but that worked intermittently. I was traveling at approximately 25 mph. Merely 300 yards up the road school kids were being crossed by crossing guards. The car suffered no damage no injuries thank God. I had my 3 small children in car. Stellantis and Jeep know about this issue. Google brake failure Jeep Wagoneer 2022. Leaving for work this morning and reversed out of parking spot, tried to pull out onto a busy road and almost died. The car just kinda rolled forward a bit and would not accelerate or do anything! The ignition switch was blinking. I could not reverse or go forward or put it in park, the gear shifter lights were all blinking as well. I couldn’t shut the car off to restart it. I could not change gears or go anywhere but sit in the middle of an intersection with cars approaching me at a high rate of speed. It took approx 2 min for the car to do anything. It finally allowed me to shut it off and restart. Check engine light on. I reversed back into the parking lot I had exited from and drove it around to make sure I could accelerate onto this road where people do 70mph. I’m extremely lucky I did not get t-boned. I have read about this issue escalating to the car having this problem and told my dealership about this when i was having the check engine light issues mentioned below. I really do not feel safe in this car now after getting stuck in an intersection. Prior issue with wagoneer, it’s been to the dealership at least 4x for this: bumps you back into park when you try to reverse and then the check engine light comes on. I have to shut the car off, open my door, restart, and then it’ll go into gear and check engine light remains on until I bring it in or sometimes after driving a bit it goes off itself. There was some known issue with possible problems with the transmission regulator valve so they switched that out and said that should take care of the issue. But check engine light on again. It now progressed into being completely disabled at an intersection today.
