ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
"Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that while his wife was exiting the vehicle, the four doors independently locked, leaving a child locked inside the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 8,500. The VIN was not available.

To whom it may concern , I brought a 2023 jeep grand Cherokee summit L. i am having a problem with my third row seat on the right side not returning to up right position after letting it down and the right side passenger mirror motor will not automatically fold , keep going out after a few days after coming out the shop. both the seat and mirror has been repaired two times each. I want to know are you guys having issues with these particular vehicle seats and mirror. I cant keep having to pay for the repairs, please let me know what I need to be to resolve this problems.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I purchased my vehicle in Sept. 2022. Issues began Nov. 2024. At first my radio screen was glitching and at the same time my car did a software update, it reset all my settings and my AEB system was disabled and would not turn back on regardless of how many times I turned it back on. The dealer did a manuel software update, replaced my screen (I paid the $100 warranty deductible) and it fixed the problem. A month and a half later it happened again without the update and my screen again was glitching. All my settings were changed and my AEB system was disabled. Dealer did a manual reset and another month and a half it happened again. At this appointment I asked them we need to do something else. This is not working. They saw that my alternate battery was not holding power well and not fully sending power to my module which controlled my radio/navigations systems also my safety features on the car. I replaced both batteries at $820. I needed 2 modules replaced. I had the module for the radio/navigation and safety features replaced and I am still currently waiting the other module that controls WiFi connections. It has been 3 weeks since I received my new module. After one week my radio screen was glitching. They said it was a lose wire and it needed to be replaced. As well as my auto start/stop button is being replaced because they most likely broke it due to them taking apart my radio so many times. Now at 3 weeks my car again reset my settings and my AEB is disabled. I have an appointment for them to look at it again but I have been to the dealer on an average once every 4-5 weeks since this issue began. Does not look like it’s going to fixed anytime soon.

STEERING
May 16,2025 my power steering light came on. I checked the fluid, and when I turned it back on it was gone. The next day, I started driving all my safety lights in dash & mirrors came on. When I pulled into my kids school it made a strange noise. I then drove right across the street to Lees tires. When I got there my power steering has completely quit working. They now saw my rack & pinions are broken & need replaced. I am now without a car until it is fixed

We leased this car in April of 2025. When we got the car it had a strong smell like gasoline. The dealer said it would go away in a few days. The smell only got worse, so the dealer picked it up to “clean it” He returned the car 2 days later in which the gas smell was even worse and made me dizzy/nauseous. The dealer took it back for a more involved “cleaning” and it’s been over 2 weeks now. The dealer cannot tell us what’s wrong with the car and why it smells like gasoline, they are stating they are waiting on new parts for the car (such as carpeting) The dealer did not provide us with any receipts so we do not have documentation of what they did to the car At this point we feel unsafe to drive the car especially with our young children-we are stuck paying a lease for a lemon car.

Forward collision feature does not work. Does not detect possible collision and does not apply emergency braking. Dealerships told me I don’t have the forward collision warning plus unless I am using adaptive cruise control, which is false. These are two separate features.

ENGINE
Presented as camshaft position sensor with loss of power, poor acceleration and general misfires. After many weeks of diagnostic and repairs, turns out to be a problem with the camshaft intake. Specifically the entire cam kit. Appeared 1 week after purchase as a check engine light. This problem had been confirmed by the chrysler dealership where I bought the car and sent it for diagnostic. Problem with the cam could result in sudden loss of power while driving/and or limp mode. Damage to transmission and other parts such as timing chain. I do not have any invoices, however this vehicle was in for service at greenwood auto in cortland ohio for a week before being transferred to Mig chryler in bellafontaine ohio where it was bought for service. Currently no invoice for the repair because the parts are not available due to high amount of demand for this specific problem. My jeep has now been in the shop for 4 weeks with no timeframe for parts.

SUSPENSION
While driving at approximately [XXX] on [XXX] heading northbound, the driver experienced sudden failure of the suspension/drivability of the vehicle. Immediately the driver was forced to veer over to the shoulder in front of [XXX] to inspect the vehicle. Driver noticed under the rear driver side tire, what appears to be a lower control arm/portion of the air suspension that had failed. This placed myself, passengers, and nearby vehicles/pedestrians at risk of injury or collision. The manufacturer’s service department at East Hills Jeep inspected the vehicle and a determination from the manufacturer on warranty claims likely will not come for a couple of months after the repairs are made. As a result, the repairs have been made, but there is an issue with the vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. There were no warning messages, lights or symptoms prior to the spontaneous failure. The car is repaired, but I am concerned for the safety of this particular VIN and like VINs based on my experience with the vehicle and the manufacturers refusal yo take accountability. My car shutdown from automatic braking and would not move, crank or engage into neutral. I was driving, turning at an intersection with the flow of traffic. Cars on both sides of me and behind me. It shut down as we were driving with no warning and would not start or move. My steering wheel locked. I had my childr j in the car and we were stranded in the middle of a crowded highly trafficked road and its nowhere to go and no way of moving out of the way.

Rear liftgate will not open, attempts about 1/4" of movement then back in to lock and gives an object detected alert on driver's instrument cluster when nothing is behind vehicle. After multiple attempts to open the "Lift Gate Temporarily unavailable" alert presents on driver's cluster. This occurs from inner switch or trying to open from the lever and the key fob next to license plate. Cleaning cameras and bumper sensors seems to work once but the issue reoccurs immediately or after few cycles of door. Power cycling via pulling fuse for liftgate and disconnecting the bumper sensors does not change anything it still will not open and displays object detected alert. Took to dealer verified issue and lubed and adjusted lock, tested ten times and door opened. one day later wife trying to open liftgate would not open. this morning tried and did first couple time then didn't wipe one sensor, and it opened tried again would not open, wiped all sensors and cameras would not open. took to dealership, service advisor attempted would not open issue verified. this issue is intermittent as brought home tried when got out of car would not so approx. 20 mins after dealership visit. Then I typed this form up and went back out and attempted and it opened multiple times. I am concerned not being able to access my fire extinguisher or first aid kit rapidly if need be.

June 2, 2023 power steering went out while driving, lights on dash came on, mileage on vehicle 15,869. Was out of town, stopped vehicle for about an hour, lights on dash no longer visible, power steering returned. Vehicle brought into dealership on June 22, 2023, EPS was updated. March 17, 2025 same thing happened, mileage 31,966. This time it happened when vehicle was turned on. Turned vehicle off several times, power steering returned, but engine light remained on for a day. March 19, 2023 brought vehicle into dealership and codes were cleared according to work order. It is next to impossible to turn or control vehicle when this happens. The wiper hose has disconnected twice since purchase of vehicle and has been reconnected at dealership both times.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the air bag warning light and SOS warning light was intermittently displayed. During the failure, the windshield wipers and turn signals became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the clock spring, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,500.

STEERING
Jeep Owner's manual explains how to setup the vehicle for flat towing behind an RV. Following those instructions, the vehicle does not track well. I've experienced this going through turns. Others report what they call a 'death wobble' while traveling at highway speeds. That's what worries me. I don't want to lose control at highway speed. Jeep dealers just repeat the manual's instructions, but it doesn't solve anything.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The vehicle didn’t automatic update of its “UCONNECT” system without warning after stopping at a gas station. Once the vehicle was turned back on after the update was completed there was a light on my dashboard signaling that the forward collision warning system is off. Some other things happened as well such as all my settings were reverted back to factory settings, and the menu screen was in Italian. After online research, it seems that this is a very common problem with the specific model. I was able to revert everything except for the Ford Collision , warning, which still states that it is OFF, after the update. After communicating all this information with Jeep, they want me to pay for a repair that was due to their system update.

3/31/25 date of incident while traveling on the interstate the right rear coil spring came out and jammed into the tire causing the car to drop abruptly and almost making me lose control of the vehicle the right rear tire was damaged but I got the car stopped before major damage was done
