Bought my Veracruz in 2018. After not even a year I started experiencing problems with the charging system. Car would die overnight. Replaced a battery with the new one 3 weeks later same thing happened. Changed many sensors checked the fuses looked for parasitic draw... battery cables. Removed the alternator had it checked at advance auto it was surprisingly good. It was covered with oil leaking out of valve cover.. replaced the valve cover seal but the problem still remains. That leakage messed up my charging system. I cannot even drive the car safely anymore because the voltage keeps dropping rapidly. Even tho alternator is good it's not charging the battery while car is running. P0346 is the code I'm getting when I scan the vehicle. Check engine and TPMS are on. I won't even be able to pass emissions test next month due to this mess.

I was driving home from work after picking my [XXX] daughter up from school. The car started making a noise I hadn’t heard before while I was traveling on [XXX] in Huntsville, AL. I got off at the nearest exit to take it to the place that changes my oil. The car didn’t travel more than a few miles before the oil light flashed and car just shut off and wouldn’t start in the second to far right lane of [XXX] It was busy rush-hour traffic and I had to contact AAA for towing as well as non-emergency police to avoid being rear-ended. The police arrived within 15 minutes and the tow truck within 45 minutes. While I waited, I contacted the place that performs my oil changes and was advised that there’s a class action lawsuit against Hyundai for the known issue of engine failure with my vehicle and they advised I have it towed to dealership for repair under the lawsuit. The next day, a mechanic contacted my ex-husband (who contacted AAA for towing of the vehicle) to advise it would be 2 days before diagnosis could occur. I called Friday, November 8th and was told vehicle is past warranty (at 161,000 miles); no appointment was made so would take several weeks to diagnose and I needed to pay $155.99 for diagnosis. I explained details shared with me about lawsuit and was told my vehicle wasn’t included. I contacted Hyundai Corporate and was told the same but advised that they are aware of oil consumption issues which could cause engine failure and asked that they do the right thing and repair vehicle. Claim#[XXX] was provided and I was told to wait for Case Manager to call within 2 business days. It is unfair of these manufacturers to take advantage of unknowing consumers who aren’t mechanics and have vehicles serviced as they should. It’s also unfair to expect those consumers to not trust the information shared by the mechanics servicing the vehicle. I want the vehicle repaired or to receive a check for value of vehicle. It’s fair. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B

Driving at approximately 35 mph Check Engine Light came on P0331 Knock Sensor - light was cleared drove 14 miles CEL was back on. Called Hyundai about the code & knock sensor in reference to all the Hyundai models being recalled for the same problem and a warranty extension being granted. Hyundai advised me to take it to a local dealer for diagnosis and pay the fee of course. I did just that. The dealer clear the codes and sent me home. CEL was on again. Car was back at dealer confirmed knock sensor replacement needed. I inquired about extension of warranty on my car. I was told it's not on the list. Called Hyundai back advised of the confirmation of diagnosis just to be informed that my car isn't covered under the extension warranty. We established that already. I asked to be escalated & was given a supervisor who suggested while the problem is being investigated I could ask the dealer to request Goodwill from Hyundai. Denied. Called Hyundai to follow up on my claim, I was advised claim closed my car isn't covered under the extension warranty for the same problem as other models and out of original warranty. Which I already knew. I was trying to find out if my car should be added to the list covered. I was told once the claim is closed it is closed. Hyundai needs to protect the owners of all Hyundai vehicles not just the popular ones. Since they closed my claim that fast. I would love an explanation as to why I was advised to take it to the dealer pay the fee and 25x the price for repair vs an independent shop. This is the 3rd time I've been without my car while it sits at the dealer waiting on parts. I'm left with a large bill, an unsafe engine and no vehicle. Hyundai needs to be held accountable. We shouldn't fear for our safety while driving. Bought in 2011 & it currently has 106,350 miles. Still within the 15 year, 150,000 mile warranty extended to other Hyundai owners whether original or not. I'm the original owner. My vehicle needs to be safe to drive.

Dashboard is literally disintegrating into many small pieces. The area over the passenger airbag will come at the passenger as plastic shrapnel. It will also probably affect the force the bag has when inflated. This issue is from using substandard materials.
