- #11751619July 20, 2026POWER TRAIN, SEATS, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
I am reporting multiple recurring safety concerns with my 2026 Hyundai Palisade. Loss of acceleration: Under heavy throttle, the engine revs to approximately 5,000 RPM but the vehicle does not accelerate as expected. This has occurred repeatedly and appears more likely after the vehicle reaches normal operating temperature. During one incident on the highway, I needed to accelerate quickly to avoid surrounding traffic, but the vehicle did not respond as expected, creating a potential safety risk. An authorized Hyundai dealership inspected the vehicle and reset the transmission adaptive values, but the condition remains. Lane Keeping Assistance: The Lane Keeping Assistance system consistently positions the vehicle toward the left side of the lane instead of properly centering it. The issue has been reported to the dealer, but the condition remains unresolved. Power second-row seat: The power second-row captain’s chair can continue moving while folding, creating a hand-crush hazard if a person’s hand is in the path of the seat. It also interferes with proper third-row seat operation. This issue has been reported to the dealer and remains unresolved. These issues have been reported to Hyundai and remain unresolved after dealer inspections. The vehicle is available for inspection, and I have documentation and video evidence of the acceleration concern.

The issue my car is having happens when the car is but I am at a complete stop and the auto on/off stop engages. I start again and turn the wheel all the way to the left and begin to drive. The wheel locks, then violently snaps back. In some instances it will set off the sensors and disengage the vehicle while I’m pulled out into traffic. I have brought this to the dealerships attention as well as corporate Hyundai. I was told they were able to recreate the problem and it is standard operating procedure. I was given a loaner vehicle and it did not perform this way and so I am doubtful but have also heard may others complain of the same issue.

We were driving down the road and heard a loud pop and then heard glass falling onto the sunroof sunshade. My sunroom exploded out of nowhere, nobody in front of me, no trees or structures above us. Just spontaneously shattered.

On April 17, 2026, while driving my 2022 Hyundai Palisade with approximately 167,000 miles, the vehicle suddenly lost engine power and was unable to maintain normal driving speed. The sudden loss of propulsion created a safety risk because the vehicle could no longer operate normally in traffic. I was able to move the vehicle out of traffic, but it would not restart. I also observed white smoke coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was towed to Matt Bowers Hyundai Slidell, an authorized Hyundai dealership, where it remains and is available for inspection upon request. The dealership has inspected the vehicle and advised that the engine needs to be replaced. The exact internal component that failed and the final cause of the engine failure remain under review by Hyundai. I do not recall any warning lamps or messages before the sudden failure. The timing of any prior symptoms is UNKNOWN. The vehicle had been maintained through authorized Hyundai dealerships. On December 29, 2025, a Hyundai dealership replaced the oil filter housing because of an oil leak and performed a synthetic oil and oil filter change. On March 11, 2026, approximately five weeks before the failure, the dealership performed another oil and oil-filter change and a multipoint inspection. I am reporting this incident because the sudden loss of engine power while driving, the inability to restart, and the smoke from the engine compartment created a serious safety concern. The vehicle remains disabled and available for further inspection.

Two simultaenous problems happened: 1) loud clunking/thudding during low-speed turn. 2) Clunking/knocking/rattling noise from suspensions when going through uneven grounds. This both things happened before 20,000 miles. Had AWD coupling and rear differential unit replaced under warranty regarding problem 1). Had rear shocks replaced under warranty regarding problem 2). Found there has bben TSB issued related to 2), for older models, TSB 25-SS-004H but not for this year of models. Those two exact problems started again at about 40,000 miles. Had vehicle checked at 50,500 miles recently. Regarding problem 1), the dearship found issue with AWD coupling, stating faulty parts, drive shaft seal was 1/8" off and materials are fused. Replaced AWE coupling, and ECU program update. After program update, I do not see the power distribution monitor anymore from my dash. The program update should turned it off for some reason that I do not know. I have no clue that AWD module is working normal as I cannot see the power distribution action anymore. Regarding problem 2), they replaced both rear shocks again. The problem went away for now. This vehicle has been only 50,000 miles and had 4 major issues (2 times of two major identical issues) that alongside with many owners' compaints, and seems highly related to one of Technical Service Bulletin that was previously issued for older models. I would like to request investigation on these services.

- #11749949July 13, 2026ENGINE, STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I own a 2022 Hyundai Palisade SEL. On XXX, while driving at the intersection of [XXX] and [XXX] in [XXX], the engine abruptly lost power, causing a sudden loss of engine power while the vehicle was in motion. This is my family's primary vehicle, and my wife and children were in the car during this incident. On XXX, I brought the vehicle to Courtesy Hyundai in [XXX]. The dealer found essentially no oil in the engine despite my keeping up with scheduled oil changes. The dealer replaced the oil and performed a software update described on the repair order as "9C9 C ECU SW UPDATE EMISSIONS IMPRV 26-01-010H," and I was instructed to return after 1,000 miles for an oil-level recheck. At that recheck, the dealer's service assistant reported the oil was full. On XXX, before a planned family road trip, I returned the vehicle for another check. The service department found the engine was two quarts low — this was only 4,000 miles after the oil service on April 10, 2026. The dealer stated they requested an oil consumption test but that Hyundai denied the request. Per the dealer's instructions, I returned again after another 1,000 miles, and the engine was one quart low. I am filing this complaint because I believe the excessive oil consumption and the resulting loss of engine power represent a safety defect that has not been remedied. An engine that abruptly loses power while driving creates a serious hazard, including loss of power steering and reduced braking assist, and I am concerned for my family's safety while this condition remains unresolved. I purchased a new 2025 Hyundai Palisade SEL from Bud Clary Hyundai Auburn on July 2, 2026. Prior to purchase, the dealership acknowledged that the vehicle had open safety recalls and stated that customers could not take delivery until the recalls were addressed. I later relied on dealership representations that the recalls were being fixed and completed the purchase. After delivery, Hyundai Customer Care and the dealership's service department both confirmed that the recalls remain open on the vehicle. Hyundai has since confirmed in writing that the recalls have been open for an extended period of time. The open recalls include NHTSA recalls 25V607000 and 26V034000. I am submitting this complaint because I believe NHTSA should be aware that a new vehicle may have been delivered to a customer while these safety recalls remained open.

Several times now, the car's engine will shut off while driving at low speed. When it shuts off, there is a relatively loud electrical noise coming from the engine compartment, and the instrument panel has multiple lights and sounds. There have been times when this issue has nearly caused a major accident.

On XXX, after leaving an appointment at an office building, I returned to my vehicle and noticed that the driver’s seat recline function was not working properly. The seat was already pushed forward to its highest position and would not recline further. I was still able to enter and operate the vehicle somewhat but remained parked. I reviewed Hyundai resources to see whether there was an update or known issue related to the seat concern. When I could not resolve the issue through available resources, I contacted the Hyundai dealership in Henderson. I provided my information and explained that the driver’s seat recline function was not working. I was transferred to Hyundai Customer Service. During that call, I explained that I was approximately 15 minutes away from the dealership and requested repair of the issue regardless of warranty status because I considered it a safety concern. This never happened before at all. While I was speaking with the Hyundai Customer Service representative, the driver’s seat moved again unexpectedly. As a result, I moved forward toward the steering wheel area. After that movement, the vehicle rolled or moved forward and contacted the rear of another vehicle. After the collision, the driver’s seat recline function still was not operating properly. I documented the condition with video evidence, and two witnesses observed the vehicle and the seat condition after the collision. When I contacted Hyundai, I was very upset to learn that the call I had with the customer service representative was not documented anywhere. Also, no one contacted me although I was in distress, crying, and in the accident and the customer service representative knew this. There was no aid or phone call follow ups to me by Hyundai customer care at all. Hyundai Motor America opened a case investigation and instructed me not to perform repairs at this time so the vehicle could be preserved for inspection. The self leveling shocks have gone bad two times now in a matter of 4 months. The first time we had no major issues but the second time it caused the ABS system to kick in while making a left turn. The dealer said it was caused by the car not sensing the correct posture because of the shocks turning on the ABS system and causing us not to be able to brake for about 10-15 feet. If there was a person or vehicle in the way we would have crashed.

This vehicle has had an open recall for defective seat belts since 9/11/2025, but the Hyundai dealership I purchased from has been unable to perform repairs due to insufficient parts on hand. I've been told we're on a waitlist for parts but there is a nationwide shortage and there is no estimate when parts will be available.

Stopped at the gas pump and filled up. When I went to leave all dash lights were lit up and car wouldn’t move. Brakes were locked. I tried restarting and restarting. Brakes would lock up when I tried to move, either direction. I finally gases it enough that it screeched the tires to move it from in front of the gas pump.

The contact owns a 2021 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at a low speed, the power steering failed, several warning lights illuminated, and the engine suddenly stalled. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where the battery was replaced; however, the failure recurred two days later. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a failed alternator. The contact paid for the alternator replacement out of pocket. The contact stated that while at a complete stop recently, the brake pedal would travel to the floorboard when depressed, causing the vehicle to shudder. The vehicle would only resume normal operation after the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, but had not yet been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.
