In May 2025, I contacted Hyundai regarding excessive oil consumption in my 2021 Palisade. In June, Hyundai directed me to take the vehicle to a dealership for testing. Under TSB 23-EM-008H ([XXX]), a failed oil consumption test requires engine replacement. My vehicle is covered under Hyundai’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. I have provided complete maintenance records and receipts for every oil change since purchasing the vehicle. Despite this, Hyundai has repeatedly denied my claim, citing maintenance issues and gross negligence without justification. Hyundai’s own guidance states that oil changes may be performed every 7,000 to 10,000 miles under normal conditions. The repeated testing process has worsened the engine condition. In addition, the dealership has returned the vehicle with missing bolts, oil-related issues, and damage resulting from an improper rear window film installation. I have made numerous attempts to resolve this matter and obtain the warranty coverage to which I am entitled, but Hyundai and the dealership have failed to do so. I am requesting one of the following remedies: (1) a full engine replacement in accordance with the warranty and TSB requirements, (2) a replacement vehicle of equal or greater trim level, or (3) reimbursement of all costs associated with leasing, purchasing, maintaining, and repairing this vehicle. We purchased this vehicle based on Hyundai’s reputation, ratings, and promise of “America’s Best Warranty.” We still like the vehicle itself, but the ongoing mechanical issues and Hyundai’s handling of this claim have been unacceptable. The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and unoccupied, while attempting to place the third-row seats down for her son's girlfriend to enter the vehicle, while setting the seat, the contact became aware that the sensor for the seat had failed, causing the seat to continue to fold down independently. Neither the dealer nor an independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 26,958.

I was driving and stopped at the tunnel for traffic. My car shut off and wouldn’t turn back on. It seemed to have overheated. After about ten minutes, it started again. I was told it was told the oil pump controller affecting the stop and go on my car. Priority Hyundaii in [XXX] didn’t didn’t have the part to repair it. Now they are refusing to repair it. Following a recall repair on the rear seatbelt assembly of a 2023 Hyundai Palisade, a severe safety design defect was discovered. The replacement buckle installed by the dealer lacks proper flexibility and clearance. Consequently, when the second-row seats are folded down, the seat frame directly crushes and structurally damages the rigid plastic buckle, as the component cannot clear its designated protective slot. This issue presents an extreme safety risk. The second-row seatbelt buckle is now cracked, crushed, and structurally compromised, rendering the restraint system unsafe and unusable for rear-seat passengers, including my young children. In the event of a collision, a structurally damaged buckle could fail to hold, leading to severe injury or ejection. There were no warning lamps or symptoms prior to failure; the damage was only discovered after folding the second-row seats down. The failure is 100% reproducible every time the seat is folded due to the geometry and lack of movement in the installed recall component. The vehicle was brought to an authorized dealership service center, where the damaged component was physically present and inspected. While the dealer confirmed the buckle is physically crushed and left the service order open, both the dealership and manufacturer customer support have refused to correct the installation or replace the damaged safety part under warranty, falsely claiming normal wear and tear. The vehicle is available for immediate inspection upon request. This complaint is being filed because a manufacturer safety recall repair directly caused a vital restraint system to self-destruct during normal vehicle operation (folding seats), and the manufacturer is refusing to remedy the compromised safety equipment.

What happened: A franchised Hyundai dealership installed aftermarket window tint on a new 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition prior to sale without disclosing it as a dealer add-on. When the vehicle was brought in for an active manufacturer safety recall concerning the rear quarter-window glass, the dealership informed us that the official factory recall remedy (applying a protective safety film) cannot adhere to window tint. Because the dealer-installed tint prevents the recall protective film from adhering, the dealership was unable to perform the safety recall unless the window tint was permanently removed or omitted. Component involved: Rear quarter-window glass and safety recall protective film. The vehicle and windows are available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: The official Hyundai safety recall addresses an issue where the rear quarter-window glass poses a potential safety risk. Because the dealer-installed modification physically prevents the application of the recall safety film, the vehicle remains without the manufacturer's required safety recall remedy. Furthermore, dealership service personnel initially advised us to simply waive or decline the safety-related recall rather than resolving the modification conflict, leaving a potential safety hazard unaddressed. Dealer Confirmation & Inspection: The issue was confirmed by the authorized Hyundai dealership's service department and Service Director in writing. They verified that the recall film and the pre-installed tint are physically incompatible and that the recall remedy was omitted as a result.

ALTERNATOR FAILURE: My family and I were moving to [XXX] from [XXX]. A few hours into the drive, the vehicle battery light came on. It was intermittent though. It would be on for a little while 10-15 mins and then shut off and then repeat this process. I stopped at an Autozone and they tested the battery and it was showing a charge of 7%. I could not afford to get stranded somewhere so I went ahead and had the battery replaced, even though I suspected the alternator was going bad. We continued on the trip, but the battery light continued to turn on and off. The vehicle ultimately began losing power about 2 hours after replacing the battery, causing all the warning lights on the dash to turn on, the main center console display lost power and then I lost power steering. All of this happened while I was on the interstate, putting myself and my family in serious danger. I was able to pull the car off an off ramp and park it safely. I called a tow service to take it to the nearest Hyundai. The dealership verified the alternator was bad, but later found that the tensioner assembly had also failed and would have caused serious damage if they had not caught it. The vehicle has since been repaired under warranty, but I researched and found this is a common failed item. The vehicle only has 33,253 miles on it, and is barely 2 years old. Alternators should not fail like that. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11752389July 23, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On 7/22/26 at about 5:15pm, I was operating my vehicle, a 2022 Hyundai Palisade in the Parking lot of Publix Supermarket at Valrico Commons and was attempting to enter a parking space. I made a right from the parking thruway to enter a right parking space. I felt one of the right wheels graze the pedestrian sidewalk as I was driving about 5 miles per hour, next thing the vehicle lunged forward out of control and though I tried applying the brakes, the brakes would not respond. As a result, my vehicle ending up hitting a parking pole, which resulted in two vehicles parked opposite to me being hit by the pole. There was no one in the parked vehicles.

- #11752361July 23, 2026LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
When using "Lane Keeping Assistance" the vehicle pulls slightly to the right and continues correcting itself creating a snake like pattern. This is unsettling and other vehicles that I own do not have this pattern including the same model from previous years. This feature is design for safety, however when "Lane Keeping Assistance" in operation the pulling to the right looks like you are going into the other lane then correct's itself and repeats not giving the feel of safety. I have taken it do the dealer and file a report to hyundai both parties had stated they cannot do anything without an error code. I have seen other customers complain about this issue with my make/model. Please help correct this issue. Thank you

My seat buckles have been on recall since last year and they still have not fixed them. I have been to the dealership capital Hyundai in Greensboro, NC multiple times to try and get them fixed. They told me in January that it would be fixed in February. I am concerned to drive my car with my kids if they are not latching properly.

My car is misfiring. It WILL NOT accelerate as it should. It is like bogging down unable to accelerate when it needs to. It’s struggling. Hyundai is aware of the issue and making owners drive regardless while they “wait for a fix”. It’s extremely dangerous. I’ve almost been hit several times trying to merge onto a highway because it will not accelerate. I’ve had total loss of power one time, putting me and my infant in extreme danger. This has been happening since APRIL.

SUMMARY Filing complaint under 49 U.S.C. § 30120 against Hyundai Motor America & Checkered Flag Hyundai for failure to remedy a seatbelt defect in reasonable time, misallocating parts, and refusing escalation. Seatbelts randomly unlatch while driving with my family, posing fatality risk in a collision. CHRONOLOGY • Dec 2025: Requested repair; dealer cited backorder. • Apr 2026: Opened Hyundai Corporate case due to delay. • Mid-June 2026: Corporate stated parts arrived at dealer. • July 3, 2026: Left car all day for appointment. At pickup, dealer stated parts were NOT in stock; no repair done. • July 13, 2026: Emailed Rep Nasim demanding supervisor escalation, timeline, and giving NHTSA notice. • July 22, 2026: - Nasim called stating parts arrived; agreed to hold parts at dealer. - Joy (Parts) confirmed parts in stock; agreed to label box with my name. - <1 Min Later: Crystal (Service) stated parts were NOT available, revealing 3 arrived but were given away. Stated Parts Mgr Brian would call back. Called Joy back; sent to unreachable voicemail. - Nasim refused supervisor escalation, claiming no way exists to escalate the recall issue itself, but offered to re-escalate parts. Refused compensation claiming car is "drivable" despite unlatching. Denied call logs. VIOLATIONS 1. Exceeded 8 months without remedy for restraint failure. 2. Verified parts in stock with Parts (Joy), contradicted <1 min later by Service (Crystal) stating parts were given away. 3. Rep Nasim refused supervisor escalation on recall handling, claiming no way exists to escalate recall issues. 4. Misclassified active unlatching failure as "drivable." REQUESTED NHTSA ACTION 1. ODI Investigation into recall parts handling & escalation refusals. 2. Direct Hyundai to execute immediate repairs AND provide financial compensation for 8+ months of hazard exposure.

I have been trying to get the seat belt buckle recall fixed by Hyundai for many months. The dealership, Metrowest Hyundai claims that they don't have the parts to fix this. So I contacted Hyundai Corporate office and filed several complaints there. They claim that the dealership should be able to get the parts. Meanwhile, I have been in limbo. I am very serious about vehicle safety issues and have always handled recalls immediately. This is very concerning to me and I would like to have this safety issue fixed immediately. Thank you for your kind assistance in this matter.

Vehicle was purchased new in June 2026. Within approximately six weeks of ownership, I am on my third windshield. Two windshields have fractured after minor impacts from small pebbles or road debris. Incident 1 occurred on or about June 11, 2026. The impact was not audible and was not noticed at the time it occurred. The damage was discovered later as a spider crack approximately the size of a coin, originating from a single point of impact. The crack subsequently propagated well beyond the initial impact point. The windshield was replaced with OEM glass. Incident 2 occurred on July 21, 2026. Light road debris struck the windshield during normal driving, again producing an initial spider crack roughly the size of a coin at the point of impact. This crack likewise spread beyond the initial damage. The windshield again requires replacement. In both cases the initiating impact was minor - in the first instance, not forceful enough to be heard from inside the vehicle - yet each produced a spider fracture that propagated rather than remaining localized. Two windshield failures from low-energy debris strikes in six weeks is not consistent with normal glass performance. The windshield is a structural component of the vehicle and serves as the mounting point for the forward-facing ADAS camera. Glass that fractures and propagates this readily from routine road debris presents an unreasonable safety risk: it obstructs the driver's forward view, compromises occupant retention in a rollover or frontal collision, and requires repeated ADAS recalibration. No crash, fire, or injury has occurred. This failure pattern appears consistent with numerous existing NHTSA complaints regarding Hyundai Palisade windshields across multiple model years.

I have had 4 appointments for my 2023 Hyundai Palisade to have the recall on the seat belt buckles addressed. Each time, I am told by the dealership that Hyundai hasn't sent the part yet. I was told that Hyundai is only sending 10-15 parts at a time. There are a lot of these vehicles on the road, and at this rate, my car is never going to be fixed. There is also an open warranty for the 3rd row ejection mitigation that there is no fix for yet. I was told not to use the third row, which is not really possible and is part of why I bought a car with 3 rows of seats. I feel uncomfortable driving my car as well as having passengers in the first and second row, as I feel the seat belt might not hold if there was an accident. My safety and the safety of my passengers is potentially being compromised. I feel that we received the seat belt recall 9 months ago and that is plenty of time to address this problem. I am requesting for the NTSB to get involved and require Hyundai to provide a loaner car (of the exact same size and capacity) until my Palisade can be reapired. I was also told at an additional appointment that the rear shocks that leak are also waiting for Hyundai to ship new ones. So, I am currently driving a car that might not have proper working seat belts for the first 2 rows, can potentially eject anyone riding in the 3rd row with leaking shocks.

My 2025 Hyundai Palisade intermittently experiences an abnormally high engine idle of approximately 1,500 RPM during the first few minutes of driving. The condition occurs randomly and is not present on every trip. While stopped at stop signs or intersections with my foot firmly on the brake pedal, I can feel the engine pushing against the brakes because of the elevated idle speed. When I release the brake pedal, the vehicle accelerates forward significantly faster than it normally would at idle. The engine speed eventually returns to a normal idle after several minutes of driving, but during the event the vehicle behaves unpredictably. This has occurred on both flat roads and hills. I have documented the condition on video showing the tachometer at approximately 1,500 RPM while the vehicle is stopped and my foot is on the brake. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealership and remained there for approximately one week. The dealership was unable to reproduce the condition during testing and returned the vehicle without repairs. No warning lights or messages have appeared. Because the condition is intermittent and results in unexpected forward acceleration when the brake is released, I believe it presents a potential safety risk.

Upon returning home on 7/20/2025, I smelled a strong odor of gasoline. I looked under the car and saw that gas was leaking from a small hole on the (R) rear side of the tank. The hole was an approximately 1/16" . Due to danger of flammable fuel vapor and leaking gas I parked away from the house and put a temporary plug to stop the leak. I was shocked to find that the fuel tank was unshielded and made of thin walled plastic. There no warning indicators given prior to this incident. The vehicle has 12383 miles on it. Cause of the leak is unknown, possibly a poor mold casting of the tank.

My wife was driving the vehicle to work this morning XXX around 730am on the [XXX] near [XXX] and the vehicle just cut off while driving at high speed. All the lights were activated on the dashboard. The steering wheel locked, the brakes stopped working, and the car would not accelerate. The vehicle died mid drive placing her in a dangerous life threatening predicament within this heavily trucked corridor. She was left to block traffic until help arrived. The vehicle was towed to the Hyundai dealership on Eucalyptus in Moreno Valley. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
