Our Hyundai has a powertrain problem that is intermittent and random, and manifests itself in a couple of ways: 1) It drops out of gear while you are driving; there is no forward propulsion at all; the engine will rev when you press the gas, but no forward movement at all. You have to coast to a stop (or panic stop if the traffic allows), put it in reverse, drive backwards, then the transmission will “chunk” back into gear, then you can put it back in drive and continue forward again. This is life-threatening on a busy road or highway. Traffic has to flow around you like water around a rock in a stream while you try to use what’s left of your forward momentum to pull to the side of the road. Absolutely terrifying!!! The dash has also gone completely blank during some of these episodes. Nothing changes the situation: pressing “D”, shifting the paddles, nothing gets the vehicle back in gear. We have video taped these events twice, and provided those videos to our Hyundai Service Center, and to the Hyundai National Consumer Affairs team. They claim that they can’t reproduce it on demand, so they have done NOTHING. We are scared to drive the car. 2) As you start accelerating from a stop, the powertrain will miss the next gear. The engine revs, but you are not in gear, then it will catch a gear and continue to accelerate. These events happen often, but seemingly randomly. After several episodes last year, and no Service Center resolution, we reached out to the Hyundai National Consumer Affairs team, and have continued to be in contact with them, but they have not helped in any way to resolve this. They have assigned numerous Case numbers and Reps, and have emailed me over 20 times instructing me that I should go AGAIN to the Service Center, and then that they have no updates. We are terrified to drive this vehicle, and it is the only one we have. With these issues, we are in danger every time we leave home for our Dr. appointments and necessary trips.

There is an ejection mitigation recall and no remedy from Hyundai in the near future. This sets us up for future injury to my children in the event we are in an accident. This also will result in a lawsuit by us to Hyundai should I or my children are injured or maimed in the event thus vehicle does not properly protect us in an accident. The seat belts are recalled as well and parts are on back order. The solution from Hyundai is to continue to use the defective belts with minor children and hope for the best. This is simply unacceptable.

I purchased a 2025 Hyundai Palisade vin [XXX] on August 13,2025. My car was parked in my driveway on May 15 2025. During the day I walked past it and saw no crack in the windshield. At 4:33 I got in the car to run an errand and discovered a crack in the windshield. The crack started in the middle of the windshield at the top, ran down the windshield and stopped in the middle of the windshield. There was no indication of that anything struck the windshield as the vehicle was parked in the same spot all day. I understand that these cracks are common on this vehicle. This email is to document my complaint, as proof of the defect and the basis of my warranty claim to Hyundai. Driving down road in early afternoon at about 35 mph. Car began to run rough (jutter) then almost immediately stalled. The car’s engine icon appeared on the screen along with verbiage indicating service engine soon. After about 3-5 minutes, I started the car and drove it directly into a parking lot approximately 100 feet from where the car stalled. I had the car towed to a repair shop in town. The following day the service adviser called after doing diagnostics and indicated the car had no oil (It was approximately 3,400 miles since my last oil change). The technician explained there were some minute cracks in the oil filter cap but nothing that would warrant such a large loss of oil. An oil change was done, the oil filter cap was replaced with an aftermarket cap, and the car was returned to me. I have contacted the service department of the Hyundai Dealership where the car was purchased and am awaiting a call back.

I am filing this complaint regarding my 2020 Hyundai Palisade affected by the recall involving the third-row seat airbag not deploying properly and the risk of occupant ejection during a rollover accident. I purchased this vehicle in December 2024 and have experienced a pattern of ongoing mechanical failures, repeated dealership visits, lack of manufacturer support, diminished use of my vehicle, and financial hardship throughout ownership. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have completed more than 20 oil consumption tests requiring repeated 1,000-mile dealership visits. The issues became so severe that both the engine and transmission ultimately had to be replaced. The unresolved recall has now created an additional major safety concern for my family. Hyundai indicated a remedy was expected by the end of March, but as of now there is still no repair available. This has significantly limited the safe use of my vehicle because the third-row seating cannot safely be used for passengers due to the risk associated with the defective airbag system. This delay is causing financial hardship as well. I intended to use this vehicle through Turo for supplemental income but cannot do so because of the active safety recall. I also have upcoming family travel requiring use of the third row and may now be forced to rent another SUV at my own expense. I currently owe approximately $30,000 on this vehicle and am facing substantial negative equity due to the vehicle’s extensive repair history and unresolved recall status. I am concerned about both passenger safety and Hyundai’s prolonged delay in providing a remedy for a serious safety issue. I am requesting that this complaint be documented as part of the ongoing investigation and oversight regarding Hyundai’s handling of this recall and the delay in providing repairs to consumers.

- #11737877May 14, 2026STEERING, ENGINE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
While driving on a high-speed interstate with two children in the vehicle, and without any prior warning signs or issues, the dashboard began displaying sequential warnings from multiple Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) sensors. As the vehicle continued cycling through numerous dashboard warnings, the power steering failed, making the vehicle difficult to control. Additional electronic systems also began malfunctioning, including the display screen, cameras, and safety sensors, while the driver attempted to safely maneuver the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. After reaching the shoulder, the driver powered the vehicle off in an attempt to reset the electrical systems. However, once powered down, the engine would no longer start. When the tow truck arrived, the technician was required to jump-start the battery in order to shift the vehicle into neutral for towing. The technician also showed the driver a low-voltage reading on the jump-start device, indicating a possible alternator or charging-system failure. Hyundai dealership representatives later stated that diagnostic testing of the alternator and electrical system showed no faults and informed the customers that the battery was simply dead. After the dealership replaced the battery, the customers drove the vehicle approximately 15 miles to their residence. During that drive, the vehicle again began displaying the same sequence of sensor and system failures. The power steering failed a second time, and the same electrical malfunctions experienced during the initial incident were repeated.

Vehicle has been at dealership since March 21, 2026 due to multiple active safety recalls and unresolved repair issues. Dealer confirmed recalls involving defective seat belt buckle assemblies that may fail to properly latch and a separate recall involving third-row occupant protection/ejection mitigation safety standards. One recall currently has no available remedy or repair solution. Vehicle has remained out of service for an excessive amount of time waiting on backordered parts and unresolved safety repairs. Manufacturer and dealership have not provided a clear repair completion timeline. Dealer communication has been poor and calls often go unanswered. I no longer feel this vehicle is safe for my family or small children due to the nature of the recalls involving seat belt safety and occupant protection during crashes or rollovers. The safety defects and inability to timely repair the vehicle have caused significant hardship while continuing to make monthly lease payments for a vehicle that cannot safely be used. Dealer and manufacturer have confirmed the recalls and repair delays.

Drive Seat Seatbelt unbuckles when driving. This has happened in the past lets say like every few months. In the month of April it happened twice in 1 week and the following week 5/2/26 1 time. This is a huge safety risk. Last time our vehicle went in for an oil change- dealership said there is no fix for this at this time. I filed a complaint with Hyundai XXX 5/3/26 after happened the day before. Because this vehicle’s restraint system may be unsafe to operate, I am requesting that Hyundai provide a loaner or alternate transportation until the defect is properly diagnosed and repaired. If Hyundai is unable to promptly and permanently correct this safety defect, I expect Hyundai to discuss further remedies, including vehicle replacement, repurchase, reimbursement of expenses, or other appropriate compensation. We have not received a call when it stated within one business day. I sent another email requesting assistance without resolution. 2020 Hyundai Palisade, VIN: [XXX] . Excessive engine oil consumption beginning at ~95,418 miles. Oil drops to critical levels between oil changes, causing engine hesitation, rough running, and Check Engine Light activation — CEL clears only after oil is manually added, confirming oil starvation as the cause. SAFETY RISKS: Engine seizure or stall at highway speed; engine fire from oil burning on hot components; sudden loss of vehicle control; CEL only illuminates after oil is already critical, leaving no safe warning window. DEALER: Vehicle brought to dealership in [XXX] on 8/25/25 (95,451 mi) and Barnes Crossing Hyundai, [XXX] on 4/22/26 (99,969 mi). RO# XXX/1. HMA Case# XXX. Both dealers confirmed abnormal oil consumption. MANUFACTURER RESPONSE: Hyundai Motor America denied all repair or engine replacement solely because the title was transferred from a family member. Hyundai's own XXX (Dec. 2023) acknowledges systemic oil consumption across all Hyundai gasoline engines and mandates a repair protocol including engine replacement. A title transfer does not cause a mechanical defect and Hyundai failed to apply its own TSB procedures before denial. REQUESTED ACTION: Investigate HMA's pattern of denying TXXX remedies after title transfers; compel engine repair/replacement at no cost; evaluate safety recall eligibility. I was driving my 2025 Hyundai Palisade Night Edition on a rural highway at 55mph 245/50R20 102V when I heard a boom. The right front tire sidewall had blown out in 2 spots. I put the spare on and redrove the section where the tire blew out and the highway had no potholes or debris that would have caused any issue.

After emissions campaign 9c9, downshifting using paddle shifters on downhill grades, engine failing to maintain speed. Does not slow car down like it did before, seems like no compression. Fuel efficiency / emissions over traditional transmission braking, forcing drivers to use brakes more often to avoid high RPMs. Safety Risk: The lack of engine braking can lead to brake overheating or fade on long downgrades, lack of engine braking can lead to brake overheating or fade on long downgrades. Above is what Google found [XXX] ) when i put in some key words. Here is what i wrote to a [XXX] . my 2021 Hyundai Palisade Campaign 9C in your article about the 2022 having the same downshifting issues after the Emissions recall was done. Have you heard from other 2021 owners? I use the downshift for breaking/keeping my speed down to save the breaks here in the [XXX] , [XXX] , and [XXX] mountains. Does not function as designed. "Loss of engine braking" " High Engine Revving" Did go back to dealer and drove tech around lot. I called back later and nothing they can do. 5/12/26 Went to the dealer again, for an appointment. Dealer service manager said it working as designed. Bull, was not that way before. He said if i don't like it, trade in the car.. He also said that I can't compare the Palasade to the other cars that have manual shifting. bull. I said Why have them if they don't do anything... Tried to explain that I have been driving for over 40 years and have always downshifted every car. This was fine until the emissions recall. Got no place with the dealer. Contacted Hyundai Corporate last week, and they should be following up on Wednesday/tomorrow. 5/13/26 Left VM for Sales GM at Bowser today where i purchase the car. Wrote above and more to: [XXX] Contacting you now. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The safety sensors mounted on the front of the car seem to disable frequetnly. I belive it is the bumper sensors. I read it is a known issue that they disable when it's snowing/raining/mud. I cleaned them off and took a 3 hour drive in clear weather, dry roads. they would disable and then come back on intermittently through the drive.. drive started in day time and ended in the evening. When they are disabled the cruise control will not work and then the car just starts to slowly slow down on the the highway. On the drive back, it was daytime, roads were clear, no inclement weather and it did the same the whole way back. periodally disable and then come back on.

It is burning much more oil per 1000 miles than the Hyundai website says is normal. It has kept burning oil at a very high and abnormal rate. To the point of having to carry oil while driving. Nothing happened to make this start, it just began!

[XXX] old child pulled the seat belt out farther than necessary, creating slack. The seatbelt got twisted and it won't retract into the trim. We tried tugging, trying to unfold the ripple at the trim and We tried folding the belt into a triangle, pushing it back in to re-engage the pulls but it did not work. we now have no seatbelt for the 2nd row passenger side. The belt is extended and will not retract. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
