The rear window glass suddenly broke with a huge sound. The glass brokes to pieces completely. No warning light was activated. It happened 10 minutes ago. I haven't reported to my insurance or dealer. I used defrost function. Before this accident happened, I smelled a burning flavor a little. Also, the range dropped almost 10 miles over a 2 mile distance. I am not sure if those phenomena relate or not.

My 2019 Honda HR-v CVT failed due to premature belt deterioration exactly as described in Honda Service Bulletin 21-047. The failure happened only two months after the 7-year extended warranty period. Honda has denied a goodwill assistance despite this being a known safety-related defect. The belt failed while my elderly mother drove. They refuse to provide any assistance in the matter.

Vehicle lost power 3 times within a 3 month period, with inability to go above 40 mph on the freeway. Dates of loss of power are: 8/31/25, 9/14/25, 11/16/25 Safety is of grave concern due to loss of power and inability to drive over 40mph on freeway. Took into (2) dealerships three times and they were unable to diagnose issue. The vehicle has been inspected 3 times. This vehicle should be added to the recall listing as this is the same engine issue with losing power. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the failures.

The rear windshield of my 2023 Honda HRV shattered and broke randomly. There was no collision, tampering with, or theft attempts. No one was around the car. The rear windshield simply shattered - less than 48 hours after I purchased the car.

all the lights for the honda sensing systems (LKS, ACC, road departure, etc) are on periodically with notifications that they were not working. There is nothing wrong with the battery or anything else. They are gonna charge me 1,500$ to get this fixed when it’s their equipment that’s at fault.

A catastrophic failure occurred in the continuously variable transmission (CVT) of a 2022 model year vehicle at approximately 81,000 miles. While driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power; the engine revved rapidly without transferring any power to the wheels. The failure was diagnosed by an authorized dealership service center (documented on Repair Order #349133). The diagnosis confirmed that the transmission failed due to an internal component breakdown, stating: "FOUND SEVERAL METAL DEBRIS FOUND WHEN DRAINING AND STRAINING FLUID." The manufacturer (American Honda) has since confirmed in writing that the root cause was a manufacturing defect, effectively acknowledging that the failure was not due to wear, tear, or maintenance neglect. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealer. The component is available for inspection. This premature, total failure of a major powertrain component on a relatively new vehicle poses a safety risk due to the sudden loss of power while operating at highway speeds.

- #11698769November 11, 2025POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, STEERING
While driving my Honda HR-V under normal conditions around noon on Saturday on NC Highway 54, the vehicle suddenly illuminated multiple dashboard lights and began to decelerate despite pressing the accelerator. The steering became extremely hard to maneuver, the brakes did not respond, and I was unable to activate the hazard lights due to an electrical malfunction—putting my life and the lives of others in jeopardy. My car gave me no prior warning signs of this issue. It had been serviced at Autopark Honda Service Center on September 19, 2025, including a transmission service, and nothing abnormal (such as debris or metal) was noted or communicated to me. After the incident and I had my car towed to Autopark Honda, I was informed that the transmission had failed. I later learned of Honda Service Bulletin #21-047 (April 27, 2021) concerning premature CVT belt deterioration in 2016–2020 HR-V models. Despite this known issue, Honda has refused responsibility because my vehicle is about 10 months beyond the 7-year warranty extension. This sudden failure caused complete loss of power, steering, braking, and hazard functions, representing a serious safety risk that warrants investigation.

Transmission belt failure at ~100k+ miles. This incident occurred after the recall repair for the software update related to the transmission. Most hazard indicators switched on, vehicle could not go over 50 miles per hour. Took vehicle into honda service center. They determined it to be a transmission failure.

*Multi-use camera for safety fails Honda HRV 2019 due to overheating and or other malfunctioning reasons. Known failure, but Honda refuses to recall the cameras. Causes lights on light up LKAS, Collision Mitigation, Road Departure, Adaptive Cruise, Auto High-Beam. (Of course battery checked first, but battery in good condition) Firestone and Christian Automotive Brothers diagnosed nothing wrong with car apart from camera. Honda refuses to accept 3rd party diagnostic report. Honda refuses to inspect known defect without price gouging customer upwards of $2K. Right Honda of Scottsdale AZ refuses to reset/recalibrate and insists on all customers with this known issue pay $200 diagnostic PLUS new part $1,232.15 + tax (part 36160-T7A-A04) PLUS labor in excess of $1,000. No warning, etc prior to the lights going on associated with defective camera. This is unethical car sales, price gouging for defective safety feature, and puts driver and others at risk. This is a safety feature of the car and Honda's respsonbility to recall and resolve at no expense to customers. Please formally open an investigation to inform me swiftly if this $2K + malfunctioning safety feature will be recalled and resolved. Thank you. The fuel gauge on the right hand side malfunctions in cold/wet weather, causing information such as distance until empty, to become illegible. When this happens, the display also flickers rapidly, which may be problematic to some with epilepsy. I took my vehicle to a local Honda for an airbag light. Was told even though there is a recall on the 2022 HRV, my model is not included, but the exact issue I am experiencing with my vehicle is what is happened with the recalled 2022 HRV. I was told it would cost over $2000 to repair the air bag and since it has 60,000 miles it is no longer covered under the Honda warranty. Can this issue with the air bag be corrected or added to the recall for a free replacement/repair?

- #11695838October 27, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Driving at night on rural interstate with clear weather. Car driving at ~75 mph when the emergency breaking engaged. There was no traffic in front and thankfully none behind. The brakes locked in and the transmission downshifted to stop. Again nothing in front. IF someone would had been behind me, they could not have stopped time with combination of braking and downshifting. Approximately 2 hours latter, this emergency braking system locked again for no apparent reason. The car has <10k miles and again the weather was clear with no rain, fog, etc., pavement dry and no wind. There was limited traffic and no obvious bright street lighting to interfer.

I bought this car because of the Honda name and it’s been a disappointment. Not only does my display flicker in and out, my heater has completely gone out. The heater box and connecting wires need to be replaced, which to me is a factory default, but nope it’s coming out of pocket. And beaches of the location it’s going to be expensive. Don’t buy the 2020 HRV

my name is [XXX] . My address is [XXX] , phone number [XXX] . I purchased a 2018 Honda HR-V and on yesterday I was driving on the beltway when my engine stalled. The car slowed down n the dashboard became black. It happened at 415pm and I put hazard lights on. Traffic was moving fast and I had just a small area to pull over. I turned the car key off and started the car again n proceeded to drive again. It was very scary. I looked for recalls with my vin number and didn’t see anything. I looked at the issues with my type car n that’s one issue with engine stalling for fuel pumps. I have a full tank of gas. I travel out of town a lot. I need you to add my car to the recall for fuel pump issue. Here is the vin number: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
