The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The contact stated that upon pulling into a parking space and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated, and the front end of the vehicle crashed into a brick wall. The driver's side front and side air bags deployed. Bystanders turned off the vehicle, opened the front driver's side door, and assisted the contact out of the vehicle. It was unknown whether a warning light illuminated before or after the crash. The contact noticed smoke coming from under the hood. The contact's husband arrived at the scene and transported the contact to the residence. The contact was then transported to the hospital, where the contact underwent an EKG, a chest X-ray and a CT scan. The contact sustained trouble breathing from sternum pain and headaches. A police report was filed. There was no property damage. The vehicle was towed to a Crash Auto Repair shop, but an estimate of the damage was not yet available. The local dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 16,000.

In December, 2025 my brand new 2026 Honda CRV Hybrid began making a clicking noise on the steering wheel. I had the dealer work on it and they said I had a faulty cable reel and they replaced it. This past week I noticed the same clicking sound in the steering wheel. I had the dealership look at the car again today and they were not able to replicate the noise. The service advisor at the dealership said that they are getting a lot of 2026 Honda CRVs in the shop with this very issue. When my steering wheel made the clicking sound last week, my steering wheel was a little hard to turn so my concern is that my wheel will lock up, which could cause an accident.

The contact owns a 2021 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and failed to accelerate above 60 MPH. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle failed to accelerate above 5 MPH while driving uphill. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who adjusted an unknown valve, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken back to the dealer for the third time, where a fuel injector was replaced, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE25016 (Engine). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

- #11716873February 9, 2026TIRES
I purchased this 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid on 11/06/2024 from Tower Honda in Longview, Texas. I purchased the vehicle with the Hankook Kinergy GT tires already on there, and these tires are still on here till this day. On January 19th, 2026, I went in for an oil change, and my service advisor mentioned a tire rotation. Once they were finished with the vehicle he did share with me that I only had 10%-20% tread life left. I only have 32,176 miles on my vehicle, and after researching, the tread life on these tires is 70,000 - 75,000 miles. Their are customers that have, and or having the same problem that I am having. During my research Hankook Tires are known to have premature tread wear, tread separation/sidewall issues, poor longevity, and sometimes difficulty warrant claims. I can't believe dealerships would even allow these type of tires on vehicles knowing that the tread life and value is horrible, but I guess at the end of the day, everyone is trying to make a sale, and safety doesn't matter. I think Hankook Tires better take heed at the complaints, and issues of their tires. These serious issues can turn into legal matters for this company. My tire size is 235/60R18

- #11716835February 9, 2026EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Vehicle: 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring (OEM headlights; no aftermarket lighting modifications) Issue Type: Exterior Lighting – Headlights (low-beam performance/visibility) Description of Problem: I am submitting a safety complaint regarding the low-beam headlights on my 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring. The low beams provide poor foreground illumination and create a distinct dark area directly in front of the vehicle. In real-world nighttime driving, the beam pattern leaves an obvious “dead zone”/shadowed region in the near-field (close to the front of the car), which reduces my ability to see road hazards, debris, pedestrians/animals, and lane-edge detail in time to react safely. The problem is most noticeable on unlit roads and in wet conditions, where the lack of usable light in the foreground makes it difficult to judge road surface changes and identify objects near the vehicle’s path. The cutoff/beam pattern appears abnormal in that the area immediately ahead is not properly lit despite the headlights being on and functioning. This is not related to dirty lenses, aftermarket bulbs, or modifications. Safety Impact: This headlight performance issue reduces forward visibility at night and increases the risk of a collision because hazards in the roadway may not be visible until the vehicle is very close. The dark zone in front of the vehicle is consistent and repeatable, not an occasional flicker or intermittent failure. Low-Speed Navigation: When making turns into unlit driveways or onto dark side streets, the area where the vehicle is turning remains pitch black, making it impossible to see pedestrians, cyclists, or road obstacles. Object Avoidance: At highway speeds, the "dark zone" prevents the driver from seeing road debris or potholes until they are directly under the vehicle, leaving zero time for evasive maneuvers. Headlights are original equipment and the vehicle has not been modified.

Dashboard lights not operating. Gear shifter locked Nav unit works, blinkers work, brake lights work, seat warmers work, car starts. It has been suggested to us that the brake light switch might be bad. We’re told this is a common problem with 2019 CRVs.

This happened mid-Jan 2026. I started my car with the key to remote start to start defrosting it. I noticed that my driver side mirror was cracked vertically. There was no other damage or any spot that would have been an impact point. It had not been there the night before. It's available for inspection. The mirror is still usable but since it has a crack it is distorted and it takes longer to check my mirrors/blind spots before changing lanes. I looked it up online because I haven't had the car for very long. I saw many examples of people having the same issue and there vertical crack looked the same as mine. It has been an issue on CRVs for a few years and some people were able to get it covered under warranty. I did take it to the dealership and they claimed it was not a Honda bulletin yet so it could not be covered by warranty at this time. There were no warnings/etc. I included a photo of the mirror and the price I was given for the part when I came to the dealership about it since they said it would be out of pocket.

- #11716219February 6, 2026FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
"While driving my 2018 Honda CR-V (Mileage: 58,800), the vehicle experienced a sudden and total loss of power/stalling due to a fuel injector failure. This failure caused the vehicle to enter 'Limp Mode' on a high-speed roadway, creating an immediate risk of a rear-end collision as the vehicle could not maintain flow-of-traffic speeds. My Wife and I was just getting on the highway when this occurred. Research indicates this is a recurring manufacturing defect in the 1.5L Turbo engine (referenced in Honda TSB #22-002 and similar internal communications). This is a critical safety issue as the fuel system failure is unpredictable and occurs without prior warning, leaving the driver stranded in dangerous traffic conditions. Honda has not yet issued a safety recall for this VIN despite the widespread nature of the injector defects."

The infotainment display on my [2025/2026] Honda CR-V became stuck in an extremely dim state during daylight hours. While the menus, maps, and settings were nearly illegible, the backup camera continued to display at full, normal brightness when shifted into Reverse. I attempted a full system reboot (holding the power/volume knob) and adjusted the physical brightness dial on the instrument cluster, but the screen remained locked in the dim state. The system did not return to normal functionality until the vehicle was parked and shut off overnight. This indicates a deep software logic error that resists manual resets and only clears after a prolonged power-down cycle. This failure resulted in a significant safety hazard. The dimness rendered the navigation system unusable, causing extreme driver distraction as I had to take my eyes off the road to attempt to read the screen. The unpredictable nature of this glitch means it could recur at any time, potentially disabling access to critical vehicle safety information or navigation during transit. I performed a manual software reboot and cycled the ignition multiple times, yet the screen remained dim. The hardware clearly had the capacity for full brightness (as evidenced by the backup camera), but the software refused to restore daytime levels for any other function until the car performed a "deep sleep" cycle overnight.

The same issue has happened twice. I'm driving on the highway, going maybe 60 or 65, and with no warning, the check engine light starts flashing and the car won't respond to the gas pedal. The car immediately starts to rapidly decelerate, and I can only try to get to the breakdown lane before I get rear-ended. I've been lucky (especially since my child was in the backseat both times). But when I stop the car, turn it off, then turn it on again, everything is fine. I can get back on the highway, and no problems occur. The codes are not stored, however, so I can't know what caused the problem. When this happened the first time (last year), I took it to the Honda dealer where I bought it, and they said they had never heard of this happening. When it happened the second time in January, I called Honda, spoke to an agent who gave me a case number (XXX), and said she has heard of something like this from other drivers, but the solutions were all different, so she couldn't say what would fix it for me. I did some internet research, and found other drivers who describe the exact same issue: [XXX] I've switched to premium gasoline ($$) and won't let it get lower than 1/4 full, and have an OBDII scanner in my glove compartment ready to go if it happens again. That said, this is a very dangerous defect, and I feel unsafe in my car. I am disturbed that a problem of with such potentially serious consequences has no solution that anyone can offer me. (Note: When I go to submit this, the final form leaves off the last # of the VIN. I tried to correct, but it happened again. The VIN is [XXX] , 2020 Honda CRV Hybrid. Best VIN ever.) On 02/03/2026 while driving on a flat smooth asphalt highway at 55 miles per hour our sunroof just exploded. We didn't see anything hitting us although we did meet a few oncoming cars and trucks, but none were close when this happened. Luckily we had the inside blind shut so we didn't get covered with glass chips. Neither my wife or myself ever remember opening the sunroof or the inside blind so we don't even know if the sunroof would move of if it was stuck. Called Honda dealership locally to see if there was a recall for this breakage, but they there was none and it would have to turned into our insurance. The new glass is ordered, but we have to keep our 2025 CRV garaged and only driven very short trips. It will take 8 days to get this repaired. We have 15,000 miles on our CRV and about 2/3 of the glass is missing.

On December 29, 2025, while pulling into a parking space, my Honda CRV Hybrid unexpectedly accelerated in spite of my foot being firmly on the brake. The unintended acceleration resulted in a collision with the vehicle that was parked in front of my vehicle. The security video footage shows clearly that my brake lights were consistently on during the collision. My braking system clearly did not work. My vehicle collided with the vehicle parked in front of it, moved that vehicle to the side and continued moving forward over a parking lot curb and came to a stop. If someone had been in front of my vehicle, they would have been seriously injured if not dead. There were no warning lights, messages or other symptoms prior to the unintended acceleration. My vehicle has been inspected by the dealer and the manufacturer and they could not reproduce the problem. This is the most concerning aspect of the situation. They want me to take the vehicle back and to continue driving it when there is clearly a problem.

The contact owns a 2015 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled, and the vehicle decelerated unintendedly. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the in-law's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V305000 (Engine); however, the VIN was not associated with the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 92,876.
