Severe safety incident and property damage caused by a manufacturer defect. NHTSA Recall 26V-366 (tire repair kit recall; Honda campaign D0V) — the exact failure described in the recall has already occurred on this vehicle, and the recall remains INCOMPLETE on this vehicle. The tire repair kit sealant bottle pressurized and exploded in the trunk. The explosion covered the cargo area and the back of the seats in chemical sealant. Unaware of the recall at the time and needing to prevent permanent damage to the interior of the brand-new vehicle (purchased approximately 3 months prior), the owner undertook the hazardous task of cleaning the chemical spill personally. During this process the pressurized sealant spilled onto the owner and ruined his clothing. No injuries and no medical treatment (chemical sealant contact only). Property damage: cargo area, rear seat backs, and clothing. Incident occurred in XXX; the exact day is UNKNOWN. The vehicle had approximately 3,600 miles at the time of the incident; the current odometer reading is 7,000 miles. Honda case #XXX (Recalls/Campaigns) was opened in July 2026 — no resolution to date. Request: complete the recall remedy and address the resulting property damage and clothing loss. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Steering wheel is glitchy and sticky when changing lanes or turning. Feels stuck at times. Dangerous to operate. Suspect same issue in existing recalls for other years of Honda CR-V. The 2029 needs to be added to this safety recall (gearbox etc?). You have other reports in file from 2029 owners. It’s time to take this seriously and make official recall.

- #11771143October 14, 2026AIR BAGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The contact owns a 2026 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 33 MPH, the vehicle ahead unexpectedly decelerated, resulting in a rear-end collision. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Warning system failed to activate prior to the crash. During the collision, the driver-side, front passenger-side, and rear passenger-side airbags deployed in a delayed manner, and the driver-side airbag appeared to rupture during deployment. The front end of the vehicle sustained extensive damage, and the vehicle was towed by the insurance company to a private impound lot. The contact was transported via ambulance to a medical center, where she was treated for a fractured sternum, broken ribs, chest contusions, and trauma leading to respiratory distress, requiring diagnostic scans, X-rays, and an EKG evaluation. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

A clicking sound is heard every time I turn the vehicle, and the steering wheel feels like it’s a bit stuck. I know there was a gearbox recall but my vehicle was not included on this recall. I read al the symptoms for the electric gearbox defect and it matches what I am experiencing with my car.

I was driving about 20-25 mph. There was absolutely nothing in front of me and my car came to a dead stop, the brake warning light came up on the screen and I hit my head off the steering wheel. Then the warning went away and I drove the last 2 minutes home.

The check engine light turned on in my 2026 Honda cr-v hybrid, saying there was an emissions problem. The car is about 10 months old. When I took it in, they said the only thing that could have caused this problem was driving through a puddle or leaving it in a flooded area. This didn't happen - neither scenario. I never drove it through a puddle or left it in a flooded parking spot. But are you telling me that a $45,000 vehicle cannot be driven though a puddle? I read that the canister is so exposed in the newer models that you can't even run it through a car wash. It is that fragile, really? Shouldn't this be a recall issue?

While driving under 30 mph in clear and dry city conditions, my vehicle displayed a cascade of error messages on the dashboard. Within a mile of the initial alert, the vehicle suffered a complete loss of both propulsion and steering. I brought the vehicle to a stop on a slight incline. When I released the brake and tried to press the accelerator, the vehicle failed to propel forward and instead rolled backward unexpectedly down the incline. Simultaneously, the steering wheel became completely rigid and would not turn. All error messages disappeared the following day after the vehicle sat, and propulsion and steering seemed functional. No prior warnings or issues had occurred.

Sticky steering wheel gears and creaky sounds when turning. Confirmed at dealership during inspection. Current recalls for this part include the 2023-2025 crv so they will not fix it for me even though they confirmed it’s the same problem the recalled cars have

In August 2026, I was driving approximately 70 to 75 miles per hour on the highway when my vehicle suddenly lost acceleration. The check engine light began flashing, and the vehicle started shaking severely. After turning the vehicle off and restarting it, the vehicle appeared to operate normally again. Unfortunately, I experienced another incident a few weeks ago, so this is no longer an isolated occurrence.

My car will stop when at red lights or stop signs. It’s like it dies. It also flashed 6 different problems at me: Emissions system problem, AWD system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, auto high beam problem. This is so frustrating considering I just got this car, and there’s no recall, but I believe it’s the fuel pump. Please recall this. I can’t put so much money into this car.

10/05/2026 I was pulling into a parking spot when the car accelerated suddenly like i floored it. I did brake, but not until i hit a chain fence. Fortunately i was not injured and only my car was involved. The car had been taken to a repair shop. I am worried that this could happen again. I have reported this to Honda. I see that others have reported this as well, but no recall has been listed.

- #11770481October 11, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
The car continuously has issues with all alerts appearing on the dashboard. This deactivates safety features like lane departure assist, front collision mitigation, and cruise control. This is a known problem with this generation of CRV and the problem has become worse since Honda starting sending letters to customers about resetting their radar sensor.

- #11770267October 10, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, STRUCTURE:BODY, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I purchased a brand-new 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid. Less than three months later, the adaptive cruise control and collision-avoidance radar module was stolen in under a minute, forcing me to pay $2,650.98 out of pocket for repairs. In New York, the front radar module on the new Honda CR-V Hybrid is a frequent target for theft; owners often suffer losses of around $3,000 in just sixty seconds (exact costs vary by Honda service center). I consider this a clear design flaw by Honda: the collision-avoidance radar—which also integrates the adaptive cruise control function—can be easily removed using only a screwdriver, without even opening the hood or doors. This situation is completely unacceptable. Honda has failed to implement any anti-theft measures to prevent such incidents, leaving owners facing massive financial losses in the blink of an eye. This is unacceptable. Honda service personnel have acknowledged that the front radar on the new CR-V is extremely susceptible to theft. They have already repaired multiple 2026 Honda CR-Vs that had their front radars stolen. I strongly suspect that the Honda CR-V suffers from a serious design flaw. I strongly demand that Honda provide compensation to owners whose radars have been stolen.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. While the contact's daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, extra effort was needed to turn the steering wheel while driving the vehicle and the vehicle failed to drive in a straight line. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the EPS steering rack needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

Electronic Power Steering Rack / Steering Gearbox Assembly. Stiff or sticky steering makes it difficult to precisely control the vehicle's direction during high-speed driving or lane changes, increasing the risk of loss of control and collisions. Yes, the issue has been diagnosed and confirmed by the Honda dealership, and a quote for replacing the steering rack has been issued. The Honda dealership has already inspected it. A noticeable sticky sensation or binding occurs when steering; this first appeared at a mileage of approximately 39,000 miles.

- #11770180October 9, 2026STEERING, AIR BAGS, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
Had the NHTSA 24V-744 steering gearbox recall performed on my 2025 Honda CR-V EX-L. Immediately following the repair, the vehicle developed severe, unstable alignment tracking and 'memory steer' where the steering wheel fails to self-center after turning left. There is a dangerous, loose mechanical 'dead zone' in the center steering position and loud knocking noises coming from the steering column. Additionally, the technician mechanically damaged the steering column's internal clock spring ribbon cable during the repair, compromising the driver's SRS airbag deployment system. The vehicle's severe misalignment is causing glitchy Lane Departure Warning alerts because the camera tracking doesn't match the crooked physical steering angles, and it is actively destroying the front tires. The servicing dealership performed a brief 5-mile test drive and refused to fix the safety issues, writing 'no abnormalities found' on the invoice to clear their liability, and actively refused to provide my requested digital alignment machine printout. Honda Corporate customer service has refused to intervene, leaving the vehicle completely unstable and unsafe to drive.
