- #11744783June 17, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While driving on a straight, flat road with no other vehicles close in the front or to my rear the brakes came on without warning. I pulled over to the side of the road because it was really scary. Once I calmed down I continued driving without further incident. When I got to my grandsons school parking lot I called the Honda dealership that I purchased the car from and asked the service person if they had any issues like this. She stated that "the phantom breaking happened at times" and that it "was not a big deal". After looking on line one suggestion was to clean around the sensor in the Honda emblem and the windshield around the rear view mirror. I've owned the car since 2019 (original owner) and have 72K miles on the vehicle. The only recent problem was I had to replace the original battery on 05/31/26 which was done by a AAA representative. I've had no other issues to date, but this breaking issue if it persists seems like it could be very dangerous.

Steering wheel sticks when driving. Seems like I am always having to correct to stay in lane. It is available for an inspection. I am always afraid it won’t go back to center of the lane to drive and will Continue into the passing lane. I called a dealership and they said that my VIN # is not one that was recalled. No one there has inspected it, and there are no warning lamps. The car was driven from PA to SC in March. After that it just recently started this with the steering. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

The drivers side (left front door latch) is inoperative. This was a recall from Aug 2012. The latch was replaced in 2012. Yes it is available for inspection. The door opens while driving and had to be tied shut to drive home and Honda dealership. Was told by Honda Corporate to drive to the nearest Dealership and repairs would be made under Safety Recall Notice from 2012, once they diagnose it as broken. Gerald Honda of Mattson diagnosed the problem and ordered the part on 6/16/26. They made an appointment for 6/17/2026 at 9:00am for the repair. The door open warning light intermittently blinks off/on for the two front doors, and dings. There were no warning lights prior to 6/16/26.

I bought this vehicle CPO at a Honda dealer. A pronouced steering issue arose with long banked curves as I drove home that was not evident with straight driving during my test drive. The dealer at first replaced the stabilizer bars but the issue of catching and noise persisted. Upon talking to my son, I learned of the recall associated with the vary same symptoms with Hondas however my year was not included in the recall. The dealership gave me a loaner while it took over 3 weeks to get and install the replacement steering rack. The vehicle no longer has any mechanical issues. I believe the recall years on this issue should be expanded to include 2022 CRVs.

My dealer cancelled my appointment because it doesn’t have required parts. They say waiting time can be more than two months, and don’t provide a loaner or replacement car. The other dealers said waiting time is 2 months. When I call the manufacturer to solve this issue they said to call the dealer. I believe the manufacturer is failing to remedy this safety recall within a reasonable time and is leaving consumers without a safe alternative. During a 2 hour drive, my 2017 Honda CRV EXL had all lights pop up on the dash and we experienced a sudden loss of acceleration on the highway. After finally being able to pull over, we were left stranded due to what a Honda dealership later found to be an oil dilution defect that caused a catastrophic failure in the turbocharger. Me and my girlfriend were left stranded for hours two hours away from home. This was a manufacturing defect that put me and my girlfriends lives at risk, this issue occured suddenly when we were travelling at highway speeds. The sudden flash of all dash lights during the incident were distracting as well as the situation incredibly worrying and could have caused us to crash. Even though we were able to stop safely, the situation has still created a lasting mental effect on me, as I have to carry the burden and trauma of the event with no reimbursment from Honda. There were no signs that could have told us this was going to happen as I have taken great care of the car, as it is my first car that I bought, and it is completely unaccetpable to have this happen to me when the car is only at 77,000 miles. The dealership did a diagnosis and the repair bill from the dealership to fix the turbo and intercooler is $5,000, and it is completely unacceptable that this even happened. I have taken great care of the car and a catastrophic failure of the engine system left us stranded for hours where we could not get any help. This has taken a huge toll on my mental state, and the car is left sitting at the dealership due to the completely unreasonable price tag of repair for an issue that is a known manufacturing issue, we have not gotten any reimbursment for the repair. It is unreasoble and unaccetpable to put the cost of repair on the driver who had no way to avoid this life-threatening manufacturing defect.

On February 26, 2026, at approximately 3:59 PM, the driver was traveling northbound on Yukon Territory Avenue in Manteca, CA at approximately 30 mph when the vehicle experienced a sudden brake failure. The driver attempted to pull over to the east curb of Yukon Territory Avenue but the vehicle inadvertently jumped the curb and collided with a city fire hydrant. Airbags deployed. The vehicle continued northbound and struck a city street light pole before stopping. No injuries were reported. The incident is consistent with the known NHTSA Engineering Analysis (opened February 2022, upgraded April 2024) covering 2017-2022 Honda CR-V vehicles for unexpected and unintended activation of the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) causing sudden rapid deceleration without warning. This complaint is being filed to add to the existing federal record of 1,294 complaints already documented under this investigation.

My fuel pump went out and car stopped working in middle of road and caused the timing chain to come off. My 2018 Honda CRV isn’t on the recall list but other 2018 Honda CRVs have been recalled for faulty fuel pumps. I think my car should be included in recall.

- #11744488June 16, 2026ENGINE, POWER TRAIN, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
On May 25th, 2026 multiple dashboard warning lights flashed simultaneously while I was driving indicating an immediate engine issue, all warning alerts showed up. Next day, the engine exhibited a structural shudder/shake. The vehicle has otherwise always been perfectly maintained and operated flawlessly, thus, I called the dealership/ they gave me an appointment for the next day, after their inspection, they said that they need to replace the head gasket, timing chain set, and fuel injectors simultaneously; i learnt the imminent safety hazard i was exposed to! Operating a vehicle with an active internal fluid leak and compromised cylinder sealing creates an unpredictable driving hazard, putting occupants at risk of being stranded or rear-ended due to sudden engine failure. This proves that this is a systemic thermal defect affecting the structural integrity of the 1.5L turbo powertrain. The dealership stated the vehicle requires a top-end engine rebuild, specifically: a head gasket, spark plugs, fuel injectors, and a timing chain set. This is unacceptable given that my car is only 58.8K miles. I purchased the car brand new and always take good care, this issue is putting tens of thousands of dollars at financial risk! Now, on top of that, they want me to pay around $ 6,000 thousand dollars for a well-documented 1.5L engineering defect. This will destroy my trust in the brand and guarantee I will never buy a Honda again. This should be a safety recall, and why must I pay for their manufacture's issue? Is not fair.

I bought this car from a private seller and he claimed the vehicle was in good condition. A day later the car has been dying on me while driving. Nothing shows on the check engine that something is wrong with it. The car will start and able to drive but then will die on me again. How do I find if it's covered under a recall?

I am filing a complaint regarding a serious safety incident involving my 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid. On XXX, at approximately 3:00 PM PST, the moonroof of my vehicle suddenly exploded while I was driving on the freeway. At the time of the incident, there were no objects, debris, rocks, or other vehicles near my car that could have impacted the moonroof. The glass shattered unexpectedly without any apparent external cause. The vehicle was subsequently inspected by Honda Auto Center in Bellevue, Washington. Following their inspection, no evidence of an external impact, stone strike, road debris, or any other outside factor was found. Apart from the shattered moonroof, there is no other damage to the vehicle. Based on these findings, I believe this may be the result of a manufacturing or material defect. This incident has rendered the vehicle unsafe to operate. Continued driving causes the moonroof glass to crack further, increasing the risk of glass fragments becoming dislodged. As a result, I am unable to use the vehicle for commuting to work. Additionally, given the frequent rainfall in the Seattle area, leaving the vehicle parked outdoors in its current condition exposes it to potential water damage. Most importantly, this situation presents a significant safety hazard. There is a risk that glass fragments could fall from the vehicle while driving, potentially endangering me, my passengers, and other motorists on the road. The sudden failure of the moonroof itself was also alarming and could have caused a loss of concentration or control while driving. There were no warning lamps, messages or any symptoms when this problem occured.

- #11744111June 15, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
2018 Honda CR-V had another phantom braking event this morning. While traveling on a local 4-lane road with 45-mph speed limit, the collision mitigation braking system activated with an actual hazard present and brought the vehicle to a complete stop, nearly resulting in a series read-end collision from the traffic behind the car. This created an immediate safety hazard and could have easily resulted in injuries or fatalities. The vehicle has experienced recurring phantom braking events and false activations of the emergency braking system. Because this has happened multiple times, we no longer have confidence that the system will behave predictably in normal driving conditions.

Vehicle has only 100,395 miles on it (Hondas are know for being long lasting), vehicle was burning radiator fluid and repair for new head gasket and cylinder head is over $6300! Hondas are known to last a long time, a 2020 model with 100,000 needing a repair that is nearly half the value of the vehicle is shocking - i have seen similar complaints online and want to file my complaint officially.

The contact owns a 2010 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The engine was idling high, and the vehicle independently accelerated onto the curb. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard. The vehicle then independently accelerated and rolled backwards into a tree before coming to a stop. The contact stated that the crash had occurred in the residential parking lot. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer repaired the damage to the structure of the vehicle. No injuries were sustained. A Police report was not filed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 100,283.

I'm concern with the possible safety issue while driving my 2019 CRV on the expressway at 60 mph. The steering has a sticking moment when trying to adjust the wheel back to straight alignment. I'm not sure if this is going to continue or can this get more serious. in my research, I noticed that there is a recall for this issue on other year models but not 2019. I find that interesting. Shouldn't Honda be responsible for this safety issue on all CRVs. Are other 2019 CRV owners having this issue. I'm taking my CRV into the dealer on Thursday 6/18 to address this issue.

I am requesting a formal investigation and warranty review regarding the sunroof glass on my 2026 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD. The vehicle was purchased new, and within approximately the first week of ownership I discovered stress fractures and cracking in the sunroof glass while the vehicle was being driven and maintained under normal conditions. The vehicle has not been involved in any accident, collision, rollover, vandalism incident, or known impact event that would reasonably explain the damage. To the best of my knowledge, no object struck the glass, and there was no unusual noise or event that would indicate an external cause. The cracking appeared unexpectedly and seemed more consistent with stress-related failure than obvious impact damage. Shortly after discovering the issue, my wife contacted the selling dealership to report the concern. During that conversation, she was informed that sunroof glass replacement would not be covered. Given that the damage appeared almost immediately after delivery, we were disappointed by that response and believe the matter deserves a more thorough evaluation. My family has owned several Honda vehicles over the years and has remained loyal to the brand because of its reputation for quality, reliability, and engineering excellence. In comparing this vehicle to previous Hondas we have owned, the sunroof glass appears noticeably thinner and less substantial. While I understand modern vehicles are designed with weight reduction and efficiency in mind, the early appearance of cracking raises legitimate concerns about material durability, manufacturing quality, installation, or structural stress. After discovering the damage, I researched the issue online and found numerous reports from vehicle owners describing cracked, shattered, or spontaneously failing sunroofs. While internet reports alone do not establish a defect, they suggest this type of concern is not isolated and warrants careful review.

The steering wheel “sticks” near center at highway speeds, then jerks when trying to make small corrections. I reported this to a Honda dealer in July 2025, who diagnosed it as “normal”. The condition gradually worsened, and I returned to the dealership today, June 15, 2026, and was told the power steering rack is failing, and needs to be replaced. Honda has recalled these beginning in the model year 2022. Our vehicle was purchased in September 2021. This has been occurring since approximately June of 2025.

Steering of the vehicle was impacted, especially at highway speeds. The steering was “sticky” and required extra attention and great care to avoid driving off the road at highway speeds. No warning lamps identified the issue. Took vehicle to the dealer where issue was identified as steering rack replacement was required. With this being a common issue with Honda CRV vehicles, with previous recalls, I felt it was important to file this notification.

I have experienced unintended acceleration while pulling into a gas station. The vehicle suddenly accelerated from 5 to 20 mph. Brakes did work and I slowed my car down to 2-3 mph. After releasing the brakes the vehicle started accelerating again and I braked again. It was troubling and stressful experience since many other cars were around. After those two accelerations speed control went back to normal. Luckily, there were no damages and no injuries.
