Spontaneously shattered sunroof. I was driving on the freeway going 50mph and I heard an extremely loud 'bang' and then glass was falling down on me and my passenger. The sunroof had completely shattered with no explanation or prior indication of cracks, etc. No extreme temperatures fluxes - this was in San Francisco on June 23, 2026. I know there are over 50,000 reports of this exact same thing happening with Honda vehicles.

The car gave a "Emissions System Problem" warning while on a roadtrip on June 4, 2026. The code was P219F. Subsequently (a week or so later), every warning on the car came up for every system (too many to list here). My mechanic has gone through the Honda protocol for this code (checking spark plugs, compression tests, etc) and is now at the point of replacing all of the fuel injectors. The car is very well-maintained and has low mileage (less than 50,000 miles). The car is currently in the shop as I can't drive it safely without knowing what systems are malfunctioning. The car is available for inspection and is currently at an independent service center.

Flashing through brightness settings by itself, low through dark and runs in loop whenever sunlight hits it directly. It looks like the auto dimming is getting crazy when sunlight hits directly. Reported issue with Honda. They issued a service bulletin (19-066) to the dealers to update the radio software if cars are still on warranty. However no recall was issued and customers have to pay dealers to get it updated for a manufactures defect.

While our 2013 Honda CR‑V was still drivable, we began experiencing a brief but loud rattle or grinding noise at cold start, especially after the vehicle had been sitting. Several years ago the dealer replaced the Variable Timing Control (VTC) actuator because of this cold‑start rattle. After a period without noise, the cold‑start rattle returned and became frequent, along with concerns about abnormal oil consumption. We reported these symptoms repeatedly during routine service visits. In March 2026, the CR‑V was brought to the Honda dealer for a routine oil change. The vehicle arrived running normally. After the service, the dealer advised that the vehicle would no longer start and was undriveable. Their diagnosis was a failed VTC actuator, a stretched/jumped timing chain, and internal engine damage requiring timing‑system repair, cylinder head/valve work, and possibly pistons and rings due to oil‑consumption‑related wear. The failure occurred without any warning lights or messages immediately prior to the event. The only prior symptom was the recurring cold‑start rattle that had been present for years and was previously addressed once by replacing the VTC actuator. The dealer has confirmed the failure and provided written estimates; the vehicle remains disabled. This pattern—cold‑start rattle, VTC actuator failure, timing‑chain stretch/jump, and internal engine damage—appears consistent with a known defect in the VTC actuator/timing system on this generation of Honda CR‑V. If the timing‑chain failure had occurred at highway speed rather than while the vehicle was at the dealer, it could have caused sudden loss of power and increased the risk of a crash.

Car was leased on 2/2025, at the end of May 2026 I drove the car for a couple of days when I began to notice there was an issue when turning left. Anytime I made a left turn, the car would get stuck and would pull back to the right. When the left turn was being made, there would be a clicking sound from the front left side of the car. When driving straight, the car felt like it needed to pull to the right and I would need to hold on to the steering wheel tight. At the beginning of June, I took the car into Honda where they checked it and recommended the steering column to be replaced and advised my husband that the car was no longer safe to drive. The car is 1 year and 4 months and has had no issues until now. Honda is no longer giving me warranty on the car due to the high mileage and they are quoting me $5048.67 to replace the car. I submitted a request to Honda for a "goodwill" repair but have not heard back from anyone. Because my VIN was not part of the Honda CRV steering gearbox assembly, the service manager stated there was nothing they could do to help me.

I have noticed a hesitation in the steering of my 2022 Honda CR-V. I can only describe it as a knock but it's a feeling rather than a sound. It's like a "hitch" or "catch" in what should be a smooth motion. I initially though it was something temporary, maybe weather related but it's continued and I now see others reporting the same issue online. It seems this was covered in a recall of 2023 - 2025 CR-Vs but did not include 2022s. I'm concerned that it would be a safety issue if it gets worse.

My 2018 Honda CR-V has only 100,000 miles. A week ago, I noticed that my engine temperature gauge on my dashboard was spiking during low speed driving and I received several engine overheating alarms. There was no white smoke emitting from my exhaust. I checked the coolant reservoir and observed that the reservoir was almost empty. I brought my vehicle to my mechanic who found no external coolant leaks. He recommended that I bring my vehicle to a Honda service center to better diagnose the issue. The Honda service center diagnosed the issue as a head gasket failure, causing coolant to leak into my cylinders and burn off in the engine. This issue resulted in the engine overheating and could likely cause engine seizing, or in extreme cases, the engine to catch fire. This is a known issue for 2017-2022 Honda CR-Vs with the 1.5L turbocharged engine. My wife and I could have seriously been injured by this known defect. In addition, the Honda service center provided me a quote of approximately $5,000 to replace the head gasket and resurface the cylinders. A lawsuit was filed in 2025 in California documenting the same issue on many 2017-2022 Honda CR-Vs (Alcantara, et al. v. American Honda Motor Co. Inc., et al., Case No. 2:25-cv-06009). A recall should immediately be issued for Honda to cover repairs for this issue.

The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed, the vehicle rear-ended the vehicle ahead. The front driver's side air bag did not fully deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that during the crash, the right wrist went through the steering wheel opening. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. A Police report was filed. The contact was transferred to the local medical center by ambulance. The contact sustained a severe fracture to the right wrist. In addition, the contact was scheduled for surgery within the upcoming weeks. The vehicle was not accessed by the insurance company. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

The 2017 to 2022 Honda CR-V are lemons in my opinion. I bought the car new in 2018 and it has 79,000 miles on it. I recently had to have my head gasket replaced at a cost of $4,000. This seems to be a big problem with these years. I am in two different Honda CR-V blogs and a lot of people are having this same problem. I am [XXX] and I was hoping this would be my last car to buy. I like the car but I am concerned that it might happen again. I understand there are a few class action law suits for the deficiencies in these engines. Please let me know what I should do. Or if there is something that you can help me with. Thank you, [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Gear: When going through an sutomated car wash on a conveyor belt car was put in neutral and hands were off the steering wheel as instructed. about 3/4 wasy through the car wash, even though the car was still in Neutral the car started to reverse : the rear camera did not go on and there was no warning beep about a vehicle behind us and it was bumping into the front of that higher vehicle that stopped the reverse. They had no damage but our rear tailgate to the right of the license plate had peeling paint and an outward bump. We talked to the car wash owner about a possibility of a faulty conveyor belt but he denied this and showed video evidence (due to our wheels moving) that the car was in reverse, blaming us for shifting gears, which we did not do. The estimated repair for the damage we received from a trusted auto body shop is 1089.00 due to the painting and what they say is a misalignment of the tailgate. Our dealer , McGrath Honda, stated there had been no recalls of car going in different direction of the gear it is in. Had this happened on a highway ours and others safety coulf have been at risk. Upon request vehicle component and system is available for inspection.

- #11745935June 23, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, STEERING
2023 Honda CR-V, purchased new in Mar 2023 from Friendly Honda, Poughkeepsie, NY. All regular service completed at Lia Honda, Brewster, NY. On [XXX], car was driven without incident and parked inside a garage. On [XXX] upon ignition, car immediately displayed a “christmas tree” of warnings for every major system, including but not limited to: Electric Power Steering, AWD, Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation, Hill Descent, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assistance. Behavior has continued every time the car is started. Car remains drivable, but all safety and driver assistance systems are disabled. In addition, on [XXX] and [XXX], after stopping at a stop sign, car had very limited power and could only accelerate to 30 mph on a flat road and 20 mph on an incline. Problem was resolved only by coming to a complete stop then accelerating again. This is a significant safety concern, as if this were to happen in stop-and-go traffic on a highway, the car would be unable to accelerate to highway speeds. On 6/20/26, I took the car to Lia Honda in Brewster, NY for diagnosis. They reported a failed Electric Power Steering Control Unit/Steering Rack (trouble code U0420-68). They explained that this single electrical component failure also caused all other components to report failures because they are connected in a ring. Estimated repair cost $4,595.98. I have filed a complaint with Honda to request out-of-warranty coverage. Car is ≈3 years old, 3 months out of warranty, and only lightly used at 17,484 miles. Note that this car falls under NHTSA recall 24V-744, which pertains to a manufacturing defect in the worm gear of the Electric Power Steering. We had the recall service completed on 12/26/24, but it seems possible that continued friction in the worm gear may result in overloading of the EPS control unit. Other Honda CR-V owners have reported similar issues online, so this does not appear to be an isolated incident. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.

Software problems causing the backup camera to become disabled and the driver to lose their rear visibility. The screen is completely blackened. This occurred without warning. One day it just went dark. On other note - I do not have access to any information appearing on the screen at all. Very inconvenient and frustrating.

On March 30, 2026, a safety issue was documented regarding a 2018 Honda CR-V currently located at Crash Champions collision center. The driver-side steering wheel airbag module is entirely missing from the vehicle due to a physical loss/theft, rendering the supplemental restraint system (SRS) completely non-functional and leaving the vehicle unrepairable due to an indefinite OEM manufacturer backorder. Operating this vehicle without a primary steering wheel airbag leaves the driver completely unprotected by safety restraints in a frontal collision, posing an immediate, life-threatening hazard. This critical safety issue, along with the total lack of replacement part availability, has been officially confirmed and documented by Crash Champions, where the vehicle has been grounded for three consecutive months. Additionally, a State Farm insurance representative has physically inspected the vehicle and opened formal comprehensive repair claim #[XXX]. There were no warning lamps or symptoms prior to the incident, as this represents a total physical loss of the component; however, the dashboard SRS/Airbag warning light is now actively illuminated due to the missing module. Widespread manufacturer supply-chain backorders on these critical safety components prevent the vehicle from being returned to a crashworthy condition, leaving it indefinitely inoperable from a safety standpoint. Driving in the rain on the interstate and during acceleration, engine just lost all power. Recovered within 2-4 minutes. After 1 hour of driving, it repeated again. Hard rain conditions. Engine lost all power and wanted to die. I had my family with me and the first incident was merging onto [XXX] with a semi truck quickly closing onto me. Fortunately, he saw I was having issues and slowed down and gave me room. Then when it happened again, pouring rain, night time conditions and the dash lights were flickering and engine was just bogging down during any acceleration. Nursed it to a well lit gas station. Turned off and when re-started- no further issues but drove with the CEL on for well over an hour. Took to Jefferies Honda in Roseville, Michigan where they charged me $200 just to diagnose the issue, even though the vehicle is still under warranty. Provided a printout of the "results" from the computer but it only is of the "Live Data"- not the recorded data. Not only that but I suspect they never really checked as the mileage listed on that page does not match the mileage on their report. I suspect my vehicle is about to come out of warrenty so easy to state "no faults found" even though we almost caused multiple accidents every time the engine was failing on the interstate. Check-engine lamp flashed and went off and then eventually came on solid for well over an hour so I know data exists but I suspect Jeffries deleted it when they stated "no faults found"- impossible. My wife and I were in the car and know what we experienced. HUGE safety concern and now I don't trust Honda. They did not diagnose nor fix anything. Only charged me and sent me on my way. Explained when I complained that their service people may have made a mistake "with the mileage" section. I suspect they took my car out for a spin. I have the print out- why have a "Mileage In/Out" section if they won't use? Doesn't add up. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My 2022 Honda CR-V is having the same issue has the 2023-2025 Honda CR-V's. The steering is sticky. The 2023-2025 were issued a recall but the 2022 is not covered. The is a safety hazard for me and family and puts others in danger as well. From researching, many 2022 owners are having the same issues but no recall has been granted. There are no warning lights on and have never came on to indicate a problem. I hope that you will take into consideration the 2022 Honda CR-V in a national recall. Honda should be made to pay for this problem. If this recall is not issued this could be detrimental to others on the highway. Please consider this complaint and issue a recall before this creates deaths. Thank you!

Steering rack failure. Steering wheel "sticks" when straightening out of a curve. This causes a need to force the steering wheel more which then causes an over-correction, possibly into another lane. Very unsafe. Steering rack failure has been confirmed by dealer. It is a known problem by Honda, but yet has never been recalled for 2022 crv's. This problem could get someone killed, a child killed. Honda should be ashamed, especially charging owners $4,000 to fix a problem that is theirs. This is criminal.

There is clicking sound while I turn steering wheel, and the steering is not smooth, it is stuck sometimes in place and needs more force to move it. The sound is at low speeds or high speeds on the highways. It is random.

I was pulling into a parking space at church. I had my foot lightly on the brake as the idle speed was sufficient to enter the parking space. When I pressed on the brake to stop the car completely the brakes failed and the car lurched forward about 10 ft and hit the church building damaging my front left bumper, buckling the hood and components behind the bumper.
