ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
All warning lights on the auto’s dash will spontaneously light up and start alarming while I’m driving. This has been happening since I bought the car, I have brought it into the dealer and written the dealer multiple times about this. It seems to be worse in the summer when the air conditioning is running and has also happened occasionally in the winter with the heat running but much less frequently. The Honda service center is not able to identify the problem. It is very distracting and dangerous when this happens on the highway.

STEERING
When driving on the highway, the steering is sticky. There seems to be some slight resistence in the steering wheel. When I steer through the resistence, the vehicle tends to overreact and I have to steer back in the other direction. The steering of the vehicle lacks the sensitivity and responsiveness that I found in previous CRV's that I owned.

I received a recall notice in December 2023 and took my car to the dealership (Northside Honda in San Antonio, TX) the following week on [XXX]. I was told parts weren’t available yet and to wait “a couple months” before trying again. I scheduled another appointment with the dealership on [XXX], but was again told it’ll be “a couple months” before parts are available. I’m now scheduled for mid-April 2024 but feel unsafe driving my vehicle for several months with a known safety issue. I don’t have another vehicle I can use in the meantime. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
First incident: I was stopped at an intersection and when I proceeded to cross the intersection the automatic brake engaged. There was no one in front of me and the car behind me nearly crashed into my rear. The weather was clear and sunny. The second incident occurred two days ago. I was driving on my street and the brake engaged. It was raining. I contacted the dealer today (Sussman Honda at 1543 Easton Rd, Abington, PA 19001) and was told that this is "normal for ALL automatic braking systems" and not to worry.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
BATTERTY ISSUE: November 11, 2023 and February 13, 2024 dead batteries- 2 roadside assistances. November 11, 2023 battery replaced at dealership. February 13, 2024 diagnostics done on battery-not replaced. I am advised to start my car every three days to keep the battery charged-the new technology is draining the battery while the car its shut down and not in use for a period of time. To say this is an inconvenience is putting it mildly. The dealership suggested I buy a battery charger so I can handle this problem on my own.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
This has happened twice at highway speeds only. Check engine light comes on and car dies. After pulling to side, car is turned off and then runs again when turned back on. This is a huge safety hazard at highway speed in traffic, with the instant deceleration and the possibility of being rear ended. The car was inspected by Honda and Motorwerks Barrington without them being able to identify any issue. As stated, this has happened twice and there appear to be similar issues posted throughout the internet of the exact same issue on these cars.

STEERING
The steering wheel is sticking while driving. The Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA) systems is off. The steering wheel is slightly off at highway and local road speeds and feels like its moving on its own. It feels like the steering wheel is twitching and does not feel safe to drive. I have turned off all the extra safety and driving features and the steering wheel is still twitching.

ENGINE
I almost got into accident twice by using Auto Engine Stop/Start feature at traffic light. Traffic light was green and the car in front of me turned right but they were too slow to turn which I had to hit my break. Due to hitting my break, the car thought I was stop/idle so it turned Engine off. When the car turned Engine off, it basically got hiccups or stalls for few second and the car behind me almost hitting me as traffic light was green to go. You can only temporarily turn off this feature and it will default turn on when the car starts which will lead to accidents in matter of time if I forgot to turn it off every time I start the car. Honda should update software to allow customers to turn it off permanently if they want to instead default on.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The Honda Collision Mitigation System (CMBS) engaged incorrectly. I was accelerating from an intersection with no cars in front of me or next to me when the car flashed the “BRAKE” warning and engaged the brakes hard causing the car to come to a nearly full stop from around 25-30 mph. Had there been a car behind me, they would have been at risk of hitting me because of the sudden nature of braking. Fortunately that didn’t happen, but the hard braking did strain my neck. This had not happened before, but in the past, I have noticed the system incorrectly flashing the “BRAKE” message when cars turn right from in front of me. I would make the vehicle available for inspection if asked, and will bring the issue to the dealership’s attention too.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the battery had been replaced four times. The contact stated that the dealer replaced the battery two times after the vehicle was purchased in January 2019. The contact stated that the battery had to be recharged daily to prevent battery drainage failure. The contact stated that while researching the failure, the contact discovered information regarding electrical system failure within the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500.

POWER TRAIN
There is a known issue with 2014 Honda CRV torque converters. My car has always had a funky shift which Honda told me it was just the new CVT transmission. Then back in August my mother drive my car and said that was not correct. I took it to Honda and they said it was the torque converter. It is causing my vehicle to become undrivable with out feeling safe. It judders, shakes and doesn't shift properly. I contacted Honda and they acknowledge that it is a known issue with their CVT transmission. They currently have 1200 orders for torque converters on back order that shows you how much of an issue that this is.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The contact owns a 2015 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH with the cruise control activated, she noticed traffic stopped ahead and depressed the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was able to stop immediately; however, when the contact released the brake pedal, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated and crashed into another vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. The front driver's side air bag deployed. The failure recurred when the contact released the brake pedal while the engine was revving. The contact depressed the brake pedal and shifted the transmission into park (P). The vehicle was then turned off. The contact's hands were burned as a result of the air bag deployment, but she did not receive medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard but was not yet deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 148,000.
