Had my 3rd service done on my 2022 Honda CR-V EX-L 5/24/21 and for the third time the rear end was out of alignment. When I researched the issue online I found that this was an issue with this body style CR-V and a TSB was issued for this due to the excessive tire wear that is happening due to this alignment issue. My tires had been making a whomping sound since after my second service at 15000 miles. My vehicle now has 22750 miles on the tires and has worn unevenly causing the whomping sound and need to be replaced prematurely. They have worn down from 10.1/32nds to between 5/32nd to 6/32nds depending where on the tire you measure. This is due to the alignment being out and causing this uneven wear. After showing the dealership the TSB about this they reached out to their American Honda district rep who graciously agreed to assist in helping with the cost of replacing my tires due to this issue. I had also contacted Honda Consumer Affairs to report my unhappiness with this issue and they informed me that my year model was not covered by the issued TSB 20-081 and 20-048 and refused to honor the repair under 20-081 and pay to have the alignment done to the new specs described in TSB 20-048. They stated It only covers through model year 2018-2021 which is the same body style as the 2022 and I am having the same issue that was reported as the previous years vehicle. The alignment should not be going out in that short of time and causing excessive tire wear. I did not have this issues with my two previous Honda's being driven over the same roads. The 2022 model CR-V should be included in the TSB's.

After driving a car through a rainstorm, and trying to back up into a parking space on a city street, Big blobs of water drops appeared on the rear camera making it impossible to see backing up. Many people report this on social media sites.

While cruising down a standard roadway around 40 mph, the passenger side/seat airbag randomly deployed for no apparent reason. The sound and shock of the airbag deployment nearly caused me to lose control the vehicle because it was so loud and unexpected.

For the very first time I've noticed that my car won't start in a normal way. It was a couple of months ago. It was driving fine back then. Two weeks ago, not only my car won't start many lights came on including the engine service light. I took my car to Columbia Honda dealership; they only tested my battery and told me the battery was fine. So, they let me go. On [XXX] my car experienced the same symptoms but this time besides all these lights that came on, my car was not accelerating, just started stalling, therefore I had to take it to the closest shop which is Custom complete automotive that is 0.5 miles away from me. At first, they weren't able to identify the issue, but they found a service bulletin issued by Honda on March 18 , 2016,(please find it attached to my email) according to which there were multiple complaints from the Honda customers about the same issues that are connected to each other. Those are: crank sensor malfunction, O-ring, Intake manifold gasket A, Engine Wire Harness. Based on this Bulletin, Custom complete automotive manager Kyle recommended that all those parts needed to be replaced but the repair cost is enormous so I've decided only on the crank sensor to be replaced so that I can proceed with further repairs while be able to drive my car (I've attached the Invoice from Custom automotive for the crankshaft sensor including their labor work and diagnostics). Last night same symptoms appeared (car won't start and was stalling) and I took it to Honda service again. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Steering wheel sticks when turning, as has been reported by many others. It becomes difficult to make even small movements with the steering wheel and is a clear safety issue. When the issue first began, my car had only 30K miles on it - it now has 34K, and the problem has gotten materially worse. I see that this problem exists in recent CR-V models as well, so this appears to be a systemic issue.

The steering sticks and there is an increase in the steering effort. Part No. 53620-TLA-A30 was diagnosed by the dealer to need replacement. The dealer informed me that this part is out of inventory in the entire Honda organization and there is no date as to when this part will become available. Since this is my only vehicle I am currently driving a car with a known safety issue and no expectation as to when it can be repaired. I also have a copy your ODI Resume Investigation EA23003 which describes the exact same problem on other Honda CRVs and indicates that there are reported crashes and injuries.

While driving on the interstate highway, I noticed that my steering wheel was sticking in one position and small adjustments in direction were causing a jerking moment in the car's trajectory. This issue began with approximately 34000 miles on the vehicle and was most notable on the highway where small adjustments to the direction of travel were required. This issue has become increasingly worse with time and is noticeable now even in city driving. I researched the issue and found a recall for some Civics and CRVs titled Steering: Electric Power Assist (Recall Date:2018-09-26, #18V663000). I have been told by Honda that my car was not affected by this recall, but my car has the problem! Vehicle has 37700 miles on the odometer now with an appointment for diagnosis and repair later in June. Obvious safety issue!

I brought the car to the dealer shortly after its purchase to say I was getting error lights on the dash. They said they reprogrammed it. They also left all safety reminders in the off position. I continued to get a variety of error messages on the dash. The car was difficult to steer and needed constant correction. I was initially told it needed a drive rack. Upon follow up on parts I was told it was a power steering rack. Parts have been on order since Jan 2024 with an eta of April. Upon follow up they did not have an eta on the parts. I contacted Honda and filed a complaint. They have given me an eta of September. This is a new vehicle and I was told to be careful driving! This is a serious concern!

Steering feels "sticky" when turning the steering wheel. It happens mostly when outside temperatures are lower. I notice it most when taking ramps on and off the freeway. Sometimes you can even let go of the steering wheel at a turned position while driving and it will stay in the same position. There are no warning lights on. I first noticed the problem when the car had just about 6000 miles on it. The dealership says they cannot replicate the problem and have tried twice, but the issue still persists.

In March of 2024 the steering wheel of 2023 Hybrid CRV that we purchased less than 1 year ago started getting hard to straighten back out after we turned. My husband kept saying it felt sticky. The problem continued to get worse to the point of it getting completely stuck one day when I was following a curve on the freeway and had to yank the steering wheel to get the car to straighten out. When I took the car into the shop at Right Honda in Scottsdale the first time on [XXX] and gave them every detail they said they couldn't duplicate the problem and that I should just come pick it up and keep driving it. I should them articles from the NHTSA about this issue and the safety concern with it and the fact that I am driving our [XXX] in this car. They said don't worry about it let us know if it continues. I pulled out of the driveway and turned and the steering wheel immediately stuck in the turning position and I had to over correct. I was infuriated and contacted the GM of the dealership when I returned home. He told me the same thing that the problem couldn't be duplicated and I should just keep driving it. After 2 more days of worrying and struggling with this car I almost hit someone on a bike coming off a curve and not being able to correct the car in time with our son in the car. At that point I was done and sent the GM a message saying I would be dropping the car off and we needed a loaner because this car is unsafe. Our brand new car has been sitting in the garage since then. We are told the part to fix the car will not be in until the end of September at the earliest. This is unacceptable and are requesting the full sticker price of the car be returned as well as the payments for the months we were unable to drive the car. We opened a case with American Honda, but it seems to be getting nowhere and it typically takes me 4 or 5 calls to get anyone to call me back which is unacceptable. This is a huge safety concern and no one is helping. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA)

- #11591886June 1, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
My car’s automatic emergency braking system engaged at about 35 mph without cause. It was a very hard, abrupt almost full stop. I will report to my Honda dealer on Monday when they open. The car behind me was able to stop but was very angry. Thankfully he was not tailgating or we would have had an accident The car has done this before but not as severely and didn’t brake as hard, more of a slow down.
