SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On 3/25/2025, at 2:45 PM, my car stopped itself completely while driving at 35 mph on Transit Rd. near Sheridan Dr., under clear, dry conditions. No obstacles, no brake input—items on passenger seat flew off, my head jerked forward. Suspect Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) malfunction, per NHTSA EA22-003 (2017-2022 CR-Vs, 278 complaints, 47 crashes, 112 injuries). Vehicle is at Lia Honda for $285 diagnostic, completed 3/26/2025; they found no issues, recommend radar sensor recalibration (~$300 more) but say it ‘cannot guarantee the issue won’t recur’—I told them to wait. Available for inspection. Safety Risk: Sudden stop risked rear-end collision and jerked my head —matches EA22-003 crashes. Not reproduced. Prior inspection with oil change at Lia Honda on 3/21/25—no issues. No manufacturer, police, or insurance inspections. No warning lamps before failure—sudden onset. Honda corporate assigned a case manager on 3/26/2025, contacting me in 24-48 hrs. Request: Investigate—dealer’s inaction and costs are unacceptable.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The fuel injectors on my vehicle at 99000 seemed to turn all warning lights on my dashboard. There was no issues with my vehicle, I got an emissions test done, then 5 minutes later driving away all warning lights came on my dashboard. I brought to orielys autoparts and had the computer scanned, and it turned out the fuel was too rich in bank one. This is the second vehicle I had that had fo have fuel injectors replaced under 100k miles. My first was a honda civic LX with 88k miles and now this one. The vehicle is currently at a shop about to be repaired. The danger is that all dashlights came on while driving. The vehicle was inspected at schaumburg Honda. My vehicle has recently had the fuel pump recall fix, and then it was installed incorrectly. I have read several honda forums where the same thing is happening to other honda owners at low mileage. Seems that this is pretty frequently happening.

On Friday, March 21, 2025, there was a very loud explosion (bomb-like) while driving. Parts started flying off the car, including shattered glass. The next day I took the car to the Honda Dealership and was told the sunroof had exploded. I was very fortunate that I or anyone in the cars behind me were not injured. Unfortunately, Honda is not covering this as part of my warranty. I currently have a little over 27,000 miles on the car.

In August 2021, Honda’s records indicate that the fuel pump motor recall on my 2019 Honda CR-V was completed. However, I just discovered that they falsely documented that they did it. When I have been calling and asking them to fix my recall, all they could tell me was that there is no recall under my VIN number. That’s because they put it in their system as already completed—without ever informing me. This puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because a faulty fuel pump can cause engine stalling, power loss, or complete failure while driving, which could lead to an accident. I have experienced this issue firsthand—my car has stalled, lost power, and completely failed while I was driving, leaving me stranded on the side of the road with my kids. I brought this issue to Honda’s attention, but they have not provided an adequate resolution or explanation as to how this false record was created. This raises serious concerns about fraudulent recall reporting and whether other vehicles might also have unresolved safety defects despite being marked as repaired. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue to ensure the recall is properly completed and to prevent similar fraudulent practices from putting other drivers at risk.

Today was the fourth time that the automatic breaking system engaged when there was no other car present to trigger it. I was going under 5 miles an hour. The car next to me was making a left-hand turn, and there was no car in front of me to cause the breaking system to engage with such a force that I thought I was rear-ended by a truck

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
On [XXX] and [XXX], I was driving in the right lane in a construction zone on [XXX] in Detroit, MI when my 2024 CR-V slammed on the breaks while flashing the forward collision “break” warning on my dash. There were no cars at least 500 yards in front of me and, luckily, no one behind me. This happened by itself and no cruise control was engaged at the time. I have had this car since October 2023 and this is the first time this has happened. This was a sunny morning with temps in the low 30s. No rain and no snow. I have yet to be able to reproduce this issue and it’s unlikely that I could, since this happened under normal driving conditions. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I was driving 50 mph, "BRAKE" lit up, immediately my car slammed on the brakes while I had my foot on the gas pedal! Cruise control was not on. Nothing was in front of me - no cars, snow, rain, plastic bag, etc. This has happened many times before. I thought it had to do with Automatic Cruise Control, but it's much worse. I told the dealership and taken it in many times & I have written to Honda Regional Customer Svc. What do I do now?

I have seen lots of internet posts about exploding sunroofs, well this happened to our vehicle on the freeway. There was no overpass/rocks/cars near and the sunroof exploded, unfortunately my sliding-shade was open when this happened blowing glass debris all over the inside of our vehicle. My [XXX] son and mother-in-law were in the back seat covered in glass. We are VERY fortunate that no one was injured from this, this seems to be a more common thing and should be addressed from Honda or the glass manufacturers. They need to look into a safer glass design so that this does not cause a bigger freak accident, especially on the freeway. We were also very fortunate that our local Honda dealership stepped up to replace it and offered a clear tint for the inside as protective insurance - just in case it happens again. They also provided us with a car until it was repaired. I did speak to a service writer about this and they said that there have been three other incidents at their dealership. I know there are other car manufacturers that are having problems with this too. This has made me very nervous about riding with my family-of-four with the sliding-shade open now. I am filing a complaint about the horn on this Honda CRV model. Honda, for some reason, changed the horn system to a mono note horn that is so weak it is difficult for other motorists and pedestrians to hear. The Honda dealer told me that it is supposed to sound like that and it is not defective. This weak single note horn is used in 2023 and 2024 Honda CRVs. It is referred to by fellow CRV owners on forums as a "clown car" horn. It makes a very weak "toot" and in traffic, no one seems to hear it. I feel this is a safety concern and therefore, I am reporting it to NHTSA.

I applied my brake pedal to slow for traffic just before entering a roundabout. I came nearly to a full stop, but then with my foot still on the brake pedal, the car surged forward as if I had floored the gas pedal. I kept pressing very hard on the brake pedal, but the car kept speeding forward. I was able to steer in between 2 oncoming cars without hitting them. My left front tire then hit the curb and the car bounced off a metal traffic sign post. I then went down a steep dirt embankment and crashed into a swale with some large rocks. My car finally came to a stop, rim deep in soft dirt just off the shoulder of the road. I did not notice any warning lights come on. I don't know what system malfunctioned, but it had something to do with fuel delivery and possibly the cruise control and automatic braking functions. I was very lucky I was not injured. This malfunction could have caused a serious and possibly a fatal crash. This malfunction put me and nearby motorists at risk of being hit by an out of control vehicle. I checked the floor mat and it was not displaced. There were no loose objects that could have affected the gas or brake pedals. The police officer accused me of stepping on the gas instead of the brake, but that was definitely not the case, regardless of what he may write in his report. The car is currently at a local collision repair shop. They will be checking with the code reader to see if any codes come up involving the fuel and braking systems. My insurance adjuster has inspected the car through photos taken by the repair shop. The shop is currently taking the car apart to assess further damage underneath. I am expecting a progress report tomorrow or Tuesday, March 25. This malfunction exactly fits the description of "Sudden Unexpected Acceleration". I have found 62 similar cases after a cursory internet search, so this is nothing new.

While driving my 2020 Honda CRV Hybrid the check engine light came on and my speed reduced to 30mph on the highway. This first happened 5/31/2024 and I had it towed to Honda and Honda could not find the problem. I was told to bring it back in if it happened again. I asked Honda to report to their corporate representative because it was a dangerous issue, and was told we should not at this time. Then on 3/21/2025 less than a year later this occurred again and I bought it back to Honda and I am waiting for Honda to tell me what the issue is. This is a safety issue that has happened to other Honda hybrids not just to mine. Please help me on this matter they don’t seem to be able to know what the problem is and this is quite a safety concern.

Driver's side outside mirror has a complete horizontal crack without any visible sign of impact. This crack creates a "hall of mirrors" effect that impairs and obstructs my ability to see cars approaching from behind.
