While driving down the road at about 45 mph, my 2024 CRV automatically applied the brakes while there was not anything in front of me. I’m [XXX] and honestly it scared me. I’m just wanting to report this because I don’t want anyone to get hurt. I have not taken it to the dealer as this was the first time. Body control module failed and car was inoperable. Car still under warranty and dealer replaced body control unit. This should be a recall, not a critical piece that must fail. Honda would not have replaced if not under warranty

A fuel injector issue disables KEY safety features of our CR-V's when it occurs. (ex. Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, TPS, Hill Start Assist, Braking, etc...) Check Engine light comes on. All warning lights are turned on randomly (Electronic brake system, TPMS, Hill Climb assist, etc) remain on for some time (a few minutes, hours, days), and then all of these warnings vanishes after some time and driving a few miles (this also varies, sometimes warning stays for multiple days. I don't know if the car is dangerous to drive or not with EVERYTHING flashing and beeping.

Recently ([XXX]) my wife was left stranded away from home when our 2020 CR-V started but would not go into any gear and had multiple warning messages about system failures including brake system problem (No Working Brakes), electric parking brake problem, tire pressure monitor problem, transmission system problem and auto engine idle stop system problem. If she had removed the [XXX] that cut the wires while driving the brakes would have stopped working. She had to call for a tow truck to take her to the Honda dealer. The Honda Technician found that wires running under the rear view mirror had been cut by the [XXX] she uses causing a short and a malfunction of the computer system. The repair cost was $2451. This is an obvious design flaw by Honda. My wife is a [XXX] and all [XXX] are designed to hang over the rear view mirror. Honda should not have left exposed wires there under the rearview mirror, they should have been enclosed and protected. Anyone using a [XXX] is at risk of cutting these wires which makes the vehicle undriveable. [XXX] people are most at risk of being stranded. Anyone with a 2020 Honda CR-V and using a [XXX] should be warned about this problem immediately. Our vehicle was repaired at Honda of Stevens Creek in San Jose CA and the repair bill was $2451. The technician even did a video showing how the [XXX] cut the wire. We request that Honda reimburse us for our repair cost of $2451 and for Honda to fix this issue before more [XXX] people are left stranded.

All lights on dash board on and would not cut off. We were told it was the battery that was bad. The battery in the vehicle was not a year old. We purchased the new battery and within a couple weeks it happened again with all of the lights on. This is a safety matter because this can cause problem with the heads to the motors or can just stop running. We took the car back to the dealer and then they said it maybe the fuel injectors. Now, we are paying for another maybe. This car is sending off different codes. No, one has inspected this car except the dealer. I was informed that if not inspected by Honda that it would not count. No, other symptoms before all lights on dash board just coming on. When the lights on dash board came on it was all light for all operations of the vehicle. We are not paying for fuel injectors to be replaced based on recommendation from Honda. We have several people we know that are currently having this problem with their CRV. Please look into this expensive repair. My car is a 2018 with only 40,000 miles on it. This is not a car driven on a daily basis to work or anything. This is a safety matter as well due to it may just shut off while driving.

Engine was overheating due to a defective head gasket. “The head gasket provides a seal that keeps that pressure contained within the engine’s cylinder. The head gasket also provides a seal for internal engine water and oil passages“ (Honda). I have found hundreds of others with similar defects for the Honda 2017-2018 1.5L engines. I had no warning until the engine was too hot and the car alerted me to pull over to cool the engine. Car is regularly serviced by Honda dealership.

My vehicle has had a worsening issue with the steering wheel sticking, especially when driving on winding roads. It is most pronounced when the steering wheel is turned to the left. Instead of smoothly returning to center, the steering wheel sticks in the left position and has to be forced right to center or to turn back right. Obviously having steering that is stuck or that has to be forced can be dangerous, especially at highway speeds. It also sometimes makes a knocking sound when turned all the way to the left. I have not had the vehicle inspected yet, but I have contacted Honda and my local dealership about the issue and am able to bring the vehicle in for inspection. There have been no warning lamps, messages, or anything similar.

Started having issues with steering rack about a year and a half ago. Steering would stick and make creaking noises. Brought it to my local Honda dealership last spring and they diagnosed it as needing steering rack replacement which would cost about $4,000. I reached out to Honda Corporate and they said the best they could do would to reduce the repair by $1,000. I told them I don’t think I should have to be responsible because 1) I didn’t to anything to cause it and 2) the CRV only had 75,000 miles on it. From going online I’m not the only one to have steering issues on this model. I really don’t feel that comfortable driving the vehicle and am reaching out to you to not only document this problem but also some advice as to how to move forward. Sunroof exploded. Some glass fell on passengers inside of vehicle. Our vehicle is at the dealership waiting for inspection by someone from Honda. This happened without warning while we were driving at approx. 60mph. Heard a loud boom and realized the sunroof has broken. There was nothing around us or over head when this happened. We were traveling on a smooth two lane road with no other vehicles in front or behind us. AGAIN, this happened very suddenly without any warning. I did see on the internet that there have been similar cases of this failure happening in 2024 and 2025 CRV's.

Reversed several feet out of parking space in unobstructed lot. Car abruptly stopped and most systems shut down. Driver depressed brakes to assess. Two warning lights were present - battery and engine. Driver ensured parking brake off and brake hold off. No vehicles, people, or other objects nearby. Driver slowly depressed gas pedal; car would not budge. Driver depressed brakes and shifted into drive; driver slowly depressed gas pedal but car would not respond at all. Driver turned the car completely off. Upon restarting, battery/engine light turned off and car drove normally to dealership. The car had <250 miles on it at the time. Dealer stated that no engine codes were retained. Dealer stated verbally that it is likely a "computer glitch" as the car is new and "just breaking in." Dealer stated that car "probably won't do it again." Written documents indicate that dealer suspects a failure in reverse automatic braking system. After car released to owner without addt'l testing, owner tested reverse automatic braking system. The system worked as expected - the car braked when it detected a close object in its field, it omitted the correct audible warning sounds and visual lights, and continued to perform when the driver depressed the braking system. Additionally, due to the newness of the car, the driver is extremely confident that no objects were around - the driver had been parking far from other vehicles to avoid dings. This "computer glitch" is potentially fatal as the car came to a sudden, complete stop while in motion and was unresponsive in any gear, even after brakes were applied and released. The owner drives on the freeway daily. The dealer could not say with confidence that the "glitch" would not occur in drive at high speed. Imagine driving 65 mph on a freeway and your car coming to a complete, sudden stop - not a rolling stop or a slowdown where you might inch to shoulder - just a completely dead car in the middle of a freeway.
